The factory plastic trigger was surprisingly robust, which was surprising, but if I was going to upgrade the trigger springs and take apart that trigger pack, just go ahead and replace the trigger as well. You'll be glad you did.
Great upgrade, smooth with no pre-travel. I had MCarbo do the installation, took a little longer than I expected but I’m very happy with the results.
I am very happy with the end result, but it almost got the better of me. This install isn't for the faint of heart. Keep calm and just start over again when the alignment comes undone. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so if you aren't, take it to a gunsmith. $100 says they'll complain about what a pain it was when you pick it up. Solid trigger and I did the spring kit too. It's everything I hoped for. Thank you very much for the great parts!
The installation was as tedious as expected but this trigger is a huge upgrade to the stock trigger. And MCARBO customer service is great!
Trigger is much better than factory installed plastic unit and it's adjustable. Combined with the mcarbo spring kit it is awesome. Install can be difficult getting everything in place and aligned to get the two halves of the grip assembly back together.
I have purchased everything that you make in the Kell Tec KSG line for my beloved Blunderbuss. ALL Upgrades were simple and easy . Any questions I had were quickly and easily answered by the installation videos. I have only put 200 rounds through her since installing the upgrades, but everything is working FLAWLESSLY! I will be purchasing ALL PMR30/CMR30 upgrades (x2) soon. And I truly hope in the future, you will do a line of mods for the Kriss Vector SDP.
Five stars for an excellent product that performs great. This includes the trigger and spring kit. As others have stated, it can be a test of patience but can be performed by the average handyman. I watched the very good video and then set my laptop up in front of my work and went through the video again, step by step as I did the upgrade. Masking tape works well to secure the hammer and is easier to remove than duct tape. I also wrapped masking tape around the slide locking bar spring to hold it in place until the two halves of the lower housing were almost back together and removed the tape just before the final pressing together of the halves. It really made a big difference in the solid, lighter trigger feel.
This definitely adds a feeling of quality to my build. The adjustable screw removes any give from the trigger. It looks and feels great! I paired this along with the spring kit.
This trigger along with the trigger spring kit is a vast improvement over the stock trigger and spring! Once installed I could immediately tell the difference in trigger pull. It is an adjustable trigger to have slack or no slack. All of my long guns have single stage triggers and this made my KS7 feel like all of my other long gun triggers. Smooth, crisp and much lighter than the original. It was a pain to put together but once you get it installed, you won't regret it. Watch the youtube video and take your time. Don't muscle it. Put it back together one pin at a time. The trigger pin and sear pin will be the hardest to seat. I did the sear pin first then the trigger pin with a small hook scribing tool. Functioned checked and assembled. Function checked with dummy rounds and all went well. Shooting it is next. I would recommend this trigger upgrade along with the trigger spring kit and aluminum follower!
This trigger is a remarkable improvement over the stock plastic molded trigger. No mold seams, so its surface is consistent and smooth. The adjustable set point can eliminate the pre-travel. It shines when combined with the trigger spring kit - and that's a wonderful 1-2 improvement that costs less than $60 all-in. What REALLY puts this product over the edge is the installation video. Kel-Tec plastic clamshell grips can appear more tedious to open up than an AR lower or a Glock, but the installation video lays out what you need, what to watch for, and how to best keep everything properly placed for reinstallation. I watched the video beginning to end once, then followed it along for the disassembly, parts swap, and reinstallation. ONE NOTE that may help folks - I did not have duct tape or painters tape handy, but I did have 20lb zip ties. Those were able to keep the hammer retained for reinstallation - and no worries about adhesive residue. Thanks for the great product!
One of the biggest improvements that can added to the KS7! Definitely worth it. I used the KSG installation tutorial, broke a sweat trying to get the halves of the trigger assembly back together with everything lined up, took me a while but I got it and it functions perfectly. Thanks.
Aluminum trigger/spring kit, follower, muzzle break etc. are all gr8 and service/communication above and beyond. I work on firearms regularly and found that my new Kel tec KS7 lower was impossible to reassemble. After 5 hrs and multiple video reviews I finally contacted the link on MCarbo site and it was the Keltec factory. They work with MCarbo which is nice and asked me to ship gun to them. The barrel nut was also impossible to remove as I do not have an impact wrench as instructed AFTER part arrived. Hoping factory will loosen nut as requested. MCarbo gets A+ jury still out on Keltec products and service.
The trigger is great, as a CNC machinist/programmer myself I can appreciate the trigger. Purchased with the spring kit which I think is a must. Now about the installation. There needs to be a KS7 installation video, the KSG video is great for tear down and assembling the trigger. Taping the hammer back did not work for me. I had my son hold the hammer back and install the trigger. You cannot release the hammer, it put way too much pressure on the trigger and would knock it out of position. If we held the hammer in the back position and installed everything and then put the other half back on. We were able to get it put back together. I hope this helps someone else.
Just installed my new trigger and spring kit on my KS7. The video was extremely helpful with the installation, however, I wish mine went as smooth as shown in the video. Once i had the trigger assembly reinstalled, sear aligned, and safety snap on, it was difficult keeping the safety snap in place inside the safety bar. For about 30 min, every time I would try to place the right grip on, everything would pop out of place and i would have to start over. I finally found that if you get everything assembled and push the safety bar in the safe position, take a spring clamp and clamp it to the safety switch on the back side, it holds everything in place to allow you to put the right grip on. The only difference I found from the KSG video and installing on the KS7 was the KS7 has a grip filler that goes over the top of the hammer bar springs. Overall, not too difficult, but does require patience and a little ingenuity.
The trigger is a very nicely made piece. And paired with the spring kit makes a huge difference in the weapon. Shooting this one and a stock one side by side you can tell a massive difference. And it was a pretty simple install.
I bought this with the spring kit. I want to share my install experience. I watched The install video and gave that a shot with no luck, but it was helpful. My advise is to study the function of the linkage. Forget about the action bar spring and the top piece that falls off, just put them aside for now. The key is getting the trigger pin straight with the safety snap installed. I did not tape mine up, I pulled the hammer back with one hand and got the trigger sheer aligned on the bar and slowly let the tension off and installed the safety catch. You may have to do this a few times to get the pin straight. Then I put the halves together slightly pulling back on the hammer and it went right into place. Get the first top right screw in above the trigger housing and your set. You can spread the bottom of the trigger housing open to get the action bar spring started and push it in with a flat head. Same the the top back part. Just spread it open enough to fit the part in and install the rest of the screws and your done. Thanks for all you do Chris!
