The SKS kit was an excellent upgrade. Not exactly a target rifle under any circumstances, but I was able to cut my 100 yard groups down by 1/2 from 6" (and sometimes off the paper) to around 3" with your spring kit! Also, I use the "duckbill" magazines, and the lighter latch spring was a major improvement in swapping mags. Functionally, now my SKS is on par with an AR 15, given that it is much older, clunkier, and of a different era. A very welcome improvement!
Easy to install and reduced my trigger pull by almost half! Great quality.
All I can say is that a satisfied customer. The trigger pull on my Yugo is much improved.
I used the lighter spring and my SKS trigger feels much better. I also have a after market magazine on my SKS and removing it with the light trigger is much easier. Thank you M*Carbo
This is probably one of the best and easiest upgrades available for ans SKS...Installation video was great and easy to follow. Mine did require some friendly hard rubber taps to remove the bolt cover housing, but it got easier with time. My initial trigger was 8.5 lbs (yeh, really bad), and the trigger kit dropped it 3 lbs to a little less than 5.5 lbs (yes...it's a Norinco), but I can live with that. The magazine was very hard to release, but is very smooth and easy to do now. Great improvement!
Installing the new spring cut the trigger pull down to about 1/2 or about 2.5lbs. The grittiness in the trigger also seems to be less now. Once I assembled the tools needed, installation was simple and took about 5 minutes. Would highly recommend this upgrade.
This was a definite improvement for my Trigger and Mag Release Russian SKS. Mine was ruff on the fingers, felt like 7 lbs on the mag release and 5 lbs on the trigger...
My father in law gave me his SKS because the trigger was horrendous and impossible to shoot accurately. I cleaned up the trigger group and installed the 2.5lb spring from this kit and it became the rifle it was suppose to be. Easily shoots 1.5 groups now just by lightening the trigger pull increasing the accuracy tremendously. Not the first M Carbo kit I’ve used and definitely won’t be the last.
I installed the 2.5ib in my SKS, I worked up the sear alot before and was pulling 4.2ibs now it pulls 2ibs every time! Helped to almost eliminate the last tiny bit of creep from my trigger! Very satisfied with purchase!
I installed the MCarbo 2.5 spring on my Russian SKS. Early on, I had installed the Super Rapid Release (SRR), but the installation was still trouble-free. Trigger pull measurements went from 4lbs 11.4 to 2 lbs 6.7 using Lyman Trigger pull gauge (using the average of three trigger pulls). Thanks wifey Paula for the birthday present. It worked great!! I can't wait to get the SKS to the range.
I refurbished 2 SKS rifles, a Yugo and a Russian model. The Yugo initially had a 5.5lb trigger. The trigger spring kit reduced it to 3lbs. The Russian model initially had a 6lb trigger and the spring kit reduced it to 3.5lbs. Great results for both rifles! They are as smooth and crisp as a pricey AR 15 drop-in trigger.
I initially saw the M*CARBO trigger vid on UTube while searching for some trigger sear gunsmithing vids. I opted to go for it. If you rotate between a Timney or Timney-like benchrest shooter and a SKS at the range, like I did one day, the SKS trigger characteristics it will drive you crazy and it will carry over to your sub MOA shooter. I ordered the spring package and put it in without too many problems because I had previously installed a TAPCO extended mag release on the platform. The spring kit will not improve the trigger to the level of a Timney, because everyone should understand that there is a lot of take up and creep in all milsurp triggers--they are made that way. But, the spring kit does reduce the pull. That's what's important in load development for accuracy. While you're in there be sure to work on the sear because it is right there with the spring. Anyway, definitely work the money and work.
works for me!
I just recently ordered the spring kit for my sks came with two different ones not going lie it was difficult to remove the pin but after the installation of the spring everything was smooth sailing definitely would recommend this brand
Put this on my 1950 SKS and the difference in trigger pull was like night and day. Before it was nearly 7 pounds which meant you needed a grip like either Hercules or Superman to fire it. Put the 3.5 pound spring in and it is now a joy to fire. Installation took about 10 minutes from beginning to end. 5 stars for this product!
Lost 3 Lbs of trigger pull in less than one minute. Instructions are clear. Super easy installation.
