Review
I've used several of these kits to improve the factory trigger pull for both GP 100 and SP 101's . My customers love the improvements, which dramatically improve their accuracy. Highly recommend these kits.
Awesome service, fast shipping and outstanding product!! of you are looking for a smooth trigger and hammer this is it and de detailed video was right on point!! Keep up the good work and will definitely buy again from this guys!!!
I knew it would be an improvement, but wow. So happy I did this
This kit smoothes out every aspect of the Ruger trigger. The shims helped more than I thought they would, and after 400+ rounds, the reliability of this kit has been proven for me. I have been bragging about this product and would gladly buy it again!!!
sort of scary disassembling it so far down. fairly messy, make sure the dremel is spinning away from you! Quite pleased with the results!
Installed this kit in my SP101 while doing a complete trigger job. The instructional video is one of the best I’ve seen with the detail to give you the confidence to do the job. It doesn’t even feel like the same gun - the trigger pull is much lighter and so much smoother. Thanks for a great product and the helpful video.
Bought this, the polishing kit, & a few tools for my SP101 in 327 Fed Mag. The gun was originally pretty rough cut from the factory & quite harsh in operation. Now it functions like the match champion model. Very happy with this kit. Take your time & follow the video instructions step by step.
I've installed the SP101 trigger spring kit and it was a challenge. I didn't have to shim the trigger but I did have to shim the hammer and that takes a whole new level of patience! The only other thing that was difficult was making sure the trigger assembly, in particular the pall and transfer bar, were in the correct position when so when the hammer assembly is applied, everything fits together as it should. The spring kit itself is awesome! I can tell the difference immediately in the double-action pull! I definitely recommend watching the whole video (I actually did the polishing with my Dremel and the fitz). It's very helpful. Now if you can create a Trigger Spring Kit for the LCRx (.22WMR), that would be great!!! Great product!
Everything you need to do a trigger job on the GP100. Used this kit on my Match Champion (Ruger 1754). The kit makes a big difference but the polishing, as shown in the installation video, makes a bigger difference in the trigger pull. Good installation video. Excellent attention to detail. Good job Chris.
Girlfriends Ruger .357 double action only trigger pull was way too heavy for her. Added this spring kit along with a polish job, and cut the pull in half. Kit came with hammer and trigger shims also, to snug up side to side slop. Shipping was fast, and price was fair. I'll use mcarbo again!
I have a couple of SP101's. One (2") has an ok trigger. The other (4") had an absolute crap trigger. And this was the one my wife uses for target and bedside gun. She prefers a Taurus 65 over the SP. Got the spring and polish kit from M*Carbo. Watched the video and printed the instructions. When all done, I was shocked how nice the trigger was on this SP. So was she, she now things it is better than the Taurus, which I admit, has a pretty sweet trigger right from the factory. The biggest internal issue I found was the trigger rebound spring plunger was tight in the bore. I had to use a punch to push it out. I did the bore with the drill bit and polished the bore. It was better, but not great. Polished the OD of the plunger and that cured it. The plunger would slide freely in the bore dry. The trigger fit was not bad, the hammer was ugly. So the shims made a difference there too. I recommend this kit. The quality was good. I am going to order another kit for my other SP101 after this experience. Thanks
Installed the new springs and shims, and polished all parts per the video suggestions. No appreciable reduction in trigger pull (10lbs before / 10lbs after), based on Timney trigger pull gauge. Shims tightened up hammer and trigger well, but springs and polishing did not produce expected results. I don't have a spring compression guage, so no way to judge whether correct springs were received. No appreciable difference using finger pinch.
The SP101 kit is a gamechanger! Factory rig was quite lackluster, gritty and a pig of a double action pull. Single action had same grit. Both something we tolerated for 10 years of owning. Your video is SOLID Bro! Finished up the polish, shims and springs, reassembled and wow! Handed it to the wife to confirm no placebo effect, and we both agree - night and day! Thank you for another great product! Keep kicking ass!
I watched the vidieo on how to instal this kit. I had everything polished when the kit arrived. There was a lot of parts on the table but I followed the instruction tape and got it back together. Made a great difference to the trigger.
