Using the YouTube video from Chris the installation was a breeze. If I were to give one bit of advice (and yes I watched the video first), give a list of all tools that we need. I found myself pausing to get a 1/4 inch drill bit and then a smaller later. I know picky. Chris does a fantastic job. Thanks
This spring kit is a pretty easy swap out on my SP101. The video attached to the product description is very thorough and helpful. These lighter springs make a big difference in trigger pull, I can actually fire the gun in double action now. I'd recommend these springs to anyone with an SP101.

Rugers are great guns with not so great triggers, this spring and shim kit solves that. It greatly improved the trigger pull especially in d/a. Video was good customer service was great. This experience was so good that it prompted me to leave my first review in close to 20 years of online shopping. No question I will do business here again.
My wife's Ruger SP-101 (357 mag) has needed a better trigger job than the 10# she was getting with just a hammer spring replacement I did years ago. I stumbled upon MCARBOs installation video on YouTube and became very interested in this process. Working surfaces are now polished and she now has a truly buttery smooth DA 3# 5 oz. pull and a SA 1# 13 oz. SA pull measured using a Lyman 7832248 digital trigger pull gauge.
Received spring kit, already had revolver disassembled and polished the rough edges off. Installed springs reassembled and it was a whole new revolver. The first time I pulled the trigger I was very pleased with the results. Could not ask for more for the price.
This made a big difference in my SP101 327 Fed Mag revolver. Trigger is smoother, pull more even and clean, and shims definitely improve the operation. Follow the video as directed and complete the polishing steps you need. mine did not need a lot of polishing on the hammer or trigger group. Make sure you have feeler gauges as this makes the installation easier.
I purchased a new Ruger SP101 and almost regretted the decision after going to the range. The trigger felt like I was trying to wrestle a bull by the nose ring. The long and heavy pull was downright uncomfortable. After doing a bit of searching online I settled on the M*CARBO Ruger SP101 Trigger Spring Kit. I followed the online installation and polishing video using some basic tools. When I disassembled the trigger there were burrs everywhere. An hour of polishing, cleaning, installing the shims, lube, swapping out the springs and reassembly the revolver was ready to go. The video made the process easy. The trigger significantly smoother which meant a cleaner break. In over 200 rounds of .38 Special and .357 Mag I've had zero failure to fire. The double action is enjoyable, smooth, and probably half the original pull weight. The single action breaks on a dime making for one accurate wheelgun. Great job M*CARBO!
The upgrade kit greatly improved the function and performance of my GP100. This pistol was my first pistol purchased in the mid 90's! I also purchased the polishing kit to smooth out the factory burring. My GP100 is better than ever
Installed the SP101/GP100 spring kit in my .38 special SP101 I bought over 25 years ago. I polished, installed the springs and only required one shim on each side of the hammer; the trigger required none. Action is very smooth, but it only dropped my double action trigger pull down to approx. 8 pounds, single action down to just over 2 pounds. I have purchased a number of your spring kits, really liked them, but my double action pull results weren't as expected with this installation, sorry.
Did the trigger job and included all the polishing described in the excellent video. MCarbo springs & shims installed. Result dramatic--very smooth DA trigger now and crisp & light SA. My trigger on my new pistol wasn't bad out of the box with DA 8 lbs 9 oz, and SA 2 lbs 14 oz. That after about 300 rounds. After MCarbo kit DA 6 lbs 13 oz and SA 2 lbs 3 oz. I'm very satisfied.
Just got done polishing and installing this kit. Night and day difference in my GP100. There were some minor differences with the gun in your video, but I was able to figure it out. The trigger is so smooth now, I can't wait to take it to the range. The video was also a big help. Thank you.
This kit was really easy to install with just a few basic tools. The upgrade video on the website is also a great guide for some simple sanding and polishing you can do to the internal parts before reassembly to further enhance the action of your Ruger revolver. The action on my SP-101 is much lighter and smoother. Very cool kit.
I ordered the spring & shim kit, the bench block and the polishing kit. After installing the kit and polishing the components I've been amazed at what a huge difference it has made. Seem like a entirely different gun. Oh, their videos, customer service and followup also gets 5 stars. I will definitely be doing business with them again.
I had trigger upgrade done by a licensed gun smith. 9.5lb pull before, a tad under 9lb when completed. Very disappointing outcome, was expecting a Hellava lot better!
