Review
I was able to follow your informative video on disassembly/reassembly with the exception of a flat blade screwdriver used to remove trigger group. I bought a "Harbor Freight" tool for the polishing. I strongly urge users to not use Dremel's polishing compound as it tended to crumble. I will have to buy your polishing compound to finish the polishing. Upon reassembly the trigger initially would not reset, but it is fine now. I still have a decent trigger pull for my SP101 .327 mag. I'm thinking about a GP100 .327 mag as opposed to a G48........
Just wanted to write a quick follow up to my 2/2 review. Finally got out to the range and what a HUGE improvement in the smoothness and decreased effort of the trigger pull. This is a MUST for this revolver.
Two months ago, I polished my SP101 and installed the new springs by closely following the instructions and the video. This resulted in a very smooth and light action. I would now like to add that I have range tested the revolver with a variety of commercial ammunition: .38 Special, .38+P, and .357 Magnum rounds - both hardball and defensive hollow points. I experienced 100% ignition with everything I used.
I h ave tried about all the different ones made for spring kits out there and prefer this one over the rest
I ordered the trigger kit for my Ruger SP101 in 9 mm, the out of the box trigger pull was way heavy. A lot more, than my da/sa Sig Sauers. After watching the Video twice i dove into the project. I found out not only the trigger return had burrs, the opening of pawl plunger and spring badly burred and wouldn't let the plunger come out. Resulting in me having to force it out, and damaging the spring (and having to ordering a replacement from Brownells, But thats is Ruger`s fault) I had noticed before the installation there was a weird hesitation when I tried to de-cock from S/A. Due to the pawl plunger and cylinder latch not moving freely. Now after deburring and polishing every thing that is all gone. Like I said A GOOD Kit!!
Excellent product/kit, installation videos, and results. Very good value. It made the trigger pull about 25% easier than the factory trigger (estimated, no instruments to check actual trigger weight). The kit also made the trigger on my sp-101 noticeably smoother. I had the Dremel tool and buffing compound so i had no other expenses than the kit. I am very happy with this product and i would order it again.
This kit made my gp100 feel like the true king of revolvers that it is! install Was not too hard however i do recommend using a big ziplock bag when pulling trigger plunger springs in and out mine did grow wings but luckily was able to find it .easy to follow step by step and boy what a difference it made . One trip to range so far 150 rounds and no light strikes
Night and day difference between factory assembled and MCARBO Spring Kit with a little love and polishing! Video was great for letting you know where the "oh Sh*t" springs are hiding. I will be buying more spring kits in the future
WILL THIS SPRING KIT WORK FOR RUGER 44 SPECIAL. YOU HAVE BY FAR THE BEST VIDIOS, YOU STAY ON TRACK AND STRESS WHAT IS IMPORTANT. PLEASE DO ONE ON S&W 686,
After watching Chris’s in depth YouTube video on the Ruger GP100 trigger job, I decided to try it. I ordered the GP100 Trigger Spring Kit. I called later to add the Firearm & Feed Ramp Polishing Kit as suggested. No problem. Abby’s customer service made it easy on me. Everything arrived in just a day or two and was as described and worked so well. When I got through I was as excited as Chris seemed to be about the results. If you have a GP100 or SP101, watch the video then place your order. You won’t regret it.
Parts arrived 3 days after order. Very fast and complete order. After installation and polish job on all internals, trigger was very smooth and crisp. Trigger pull went from DA of 11.5 lbs to 6.5 lbs. SA from 4.5 lbs to 2.2 lbs. Also ordered crowning tool. Looks great and very easy to do. If you have a Ruger, you need this kit. Excellent!
Installed in a Wiley Clapp Ruger and the trigger is now amazing. Very simple install video and instruction.
This is a great kit and the shims are perfect. Thanks!
I have used two of these kits from MCARBO. One on a SP101 that I had purchased new. The other on a GP100. After watching the polishing and trigger kit instructions on You Tube I had the confidence to tackle this job myself. After polishing the SP to a mirror finish I was offered $200 more than I had paid for it new. I sold it a bought the GP that I am working on now. Polish and trigger job...this one is a keeper. I would recommend MCARBO anyday...
Worked as advertised reduced my pull by about 50% by watching the video I was able to do the spring change and polish I would recommend this to everyone.
Installed this kit using the installation video. Went smoothly and greatly improved the trigger pull. I have a S&W 617 that was worked over by Kings Gun works and this is almost that good. Probably could have done a little more polishing. A friend wants me to do a kit on his SP101. Dwain
