This kit completely improved my GP100. My stock trigger weight was 15lbs in DA and 10lbs in SA. With the springs and shims installed, the weights are now 5lbs lighter each, at 10 and 5 lbs respectively. The installation was easy, and took me about 25 minutes total, watching youtube videos and with a good workbench and tools available. Ive fired 150 rounds since the install, and zero problems. 100% firing. I’d consider this a mandatory upgrade for the Ruger trigger.
This is my 4th GP100 action job using the Mcarbo kit. This really is all about polishing and tuning. Take your time, I usually give it two evenings in shop and really polish. Chris does a great job and makes it easy. My latest is a GP100 Talo 4". Final trigger measurement when complete DA 4lbs 13oz, SA 1lb 8oz's. My DA shelf is still as solid as new so makes DA staging a breeze. That's why I prefer GP100 over S&W in DA.
This Kit works flawless if modified for the GP100 Match Champion. I would advise contacting Mcarbo first and not trying this unless you are qualified or taking to a gunsmith to be installed. This ONLY applies to the GP100 MC. Excellent product and great customer service! 2.5lb SA and 7.5lb DA.
I installed the spring kit ,shims and polished my new gp as shown in your video .all i can say is you hit it out of the park! A different revolver ! Easier double and single action trigger pull Isnt accurate .action smooth as silk ! Thank you fior the great products and instructional video !
I can only say one thing. Perfect. Everything in the kit fit like it was designed and made a huge difference in the trigger pull and function. Smoooooth.
My GP100 had a horrible trigger, both single and double action. Having read good reviews I ordered the spring kit for it. While waiting for the kit to arrive I followed the excellent video and polished the internals of my revolver. It arrived quickly and my gun was prepped for installation...but when installing the trigger group in the frame it would NOT cycle! I took the entire thing apart a half dozen times and it didn't work. I was frustrated! I finally reinstalled the factory trigger return spring and it worked fine! The MCarbo spring was too long! I cut two coils off and was met with success! Double action & single action trigger is a dream now. I haven't shot this gun much because the trigger sucked, so now it's off to the range to give it a try. I'd have given the kit 5 stars had it not been for the too long spring. If you buy this just be aware that you may have an issue with it.

Works as advertised. Price and quality are fine. Only complaint I have is that there were not enough trigger shims; couldn't get all of the slop out of the trigger with just the 2 shims provided.
I didn’t install the shims since my hammer has little side-to-side play. Just installed the springs and polished everything up per the instructional video (which is a great video for disassembly/assembly by the way). The results? Holy mother of God. Rugers aren’t supposed to have triggers this good. It feels like a ‘60s or ‘70s S&W subjected to careful attention by a competent gunsmith. I wish I’d had a trigger pull gauge to compare before and after. DA is much lighter than factory and glass-smooth, not a hint of stacking. SA wasn’t bad to start with, but now it’s like a bullseye gun. Just a beautiful break. I have a couple of friends who have had their S&W .357s worked over by very good gunsmiths, and honestly they’ve got nothing on this gun. I’ve been showing it off to everyone and the consensus is unanimous: perfect. This takes the GP100 to a whole new level. This kit makes me want to buy an SP101 and do it all over again. Install this in your Ruger, follow the video on polishing, and you’ll have the strongest revolver in its class with a world class trigger.
Chris, yoy guys knocked this one out of the park the results are even better than I expected. Your video is so good it made it easy. And I am retarded when it comes to tinkering. Your videos are easily the best. I immediately bought another Mcarbo kit for another gun and when looking for new guns I check to see if there's an Mcarbo kit for it first. You guys are awesome, I freaking love this gun now, thank you so much for what you have done and continue to do for your country.
I got the parts very quickly, watched the video, and was easily able to do the install. My GP100 varied a bit from the SP100 in the video a bit and it seemed to be tighter tolerances so I didn't have to use the hammer shims. I did use all the trigger shims though. My polishing went well, although some of my parts didnt look as "blingy" as the ones in the video, I think the important parts did though. Gun operates great, range testing today, but I am sure all will go well. The video was VERY well done and VERY easy to follow. Great kit, great service, and great follow up. I will be looking for more cools things from your site
It works, improved double action from 9lbs/13oz to 5lbs/8oz and single action from 3lbs/8oz to 2lbs/11oz. Your video lets the average gun owner accomplish the task and learn the internal mechanics of the Ruger. I did the recommended polishing and shimmed the hammer, the trigger didn't need any shims.
All I will say is wow, what a huge difference after the spring upgrade and polishing job as shown in the instructional vid. Recommend highly. It reduced pull tremendously. Very smooth also. Shout out to all my fellow veterans, God bless brothers.
Once again these guys offer one stop shopping on top notch products. The video is the best most educational video currently out. I wish it would have been around years ago. Very detailed and informational. It leaves no doubt about what you are doing and how to do it. The spring it is exceptional. Chris and team are a step above the rest.
The kit worked great and the video tutorial was very helpful. The only negative is that I needed more shims for the hammer. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to improve their ruger sp101 or GP100
Great company !! Video gave me the confidence to do complete trigger job on SP101 9mm. Trigger a Beast before kit, dream to shoot now ! Trigger spring on kit didn't always fire, BUT MCARBO sent me a replacement. AWESOME service !!!!
