KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sights
Upgrade from the stock, shorter plastic rear sight that restricts your field of view, especially when using optics. Introducing our taller, combat-ready, CNC-machined rear sight made from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum. This rear sight is .060" taller than the original and features a precision-engineered wider aperture for swift target acquisition and enhanced accuracy.
Designed for versatility, the rotating lever is ambidextrous, accommodating both right-handed and left-handed shooters. Whether you're using a red dot or other optics, this rear sight effortlessly folds out of the way. Switching between optic and iron sights is a breeze, needing just a flick of a finger.
Experience a clear sight picture with our broader peep sight aperture and pistol-style notch sight. The enhanced .170" peep sight aperture, an upgrade from the original .120", ensures quicker target acquisition, especially in close combat, moving target situations, or low-light conditions.
This sight is compatible with both Gen 1 and Gen 2 SUB-2000 models. Despite being taller than the original sight, it does not interfere with the SUB-2000's folding feature. When unfolding the SUB-2000, the sight remains folded. For a secure fit, we recommend applying Blue 242 Loctite to the screws.
A minor re-zeroing and height adjustment to your front sight post may be required after installation. This adjustment will be within the operating parameters of the stock front sight.
Please Note: The original "auto pop feature" was removed to allow the sight to fold independently of the SUB-2000 folding mechanism. While the factory sight folds only when the SUB-2000 is folded, our sight can be folded when using a red dot. The new sight doesn't have the auto pop feature to ensure user control. However, with the correct tension adjustments and the application of Loctite, the sight can deploy automatically.

A must upgrade item

I can see clearly now!
Much better view of front sight and faster acquisition of target, even with my aging eyes.
Can hardly wait to get to the range.
Just installed the rear peep sight onto my Gen 2. The installation video really helped and everything fit together perfectly. One thing I noticed is that not only is the new sight higher, but the larger aperture is wide enough that I can see both wings on either side of the front sight. Now I just have to wait for a day for the Loctite to set so I can get to the range. Great job!
notch sights
I was having a problem shooting with the factory sights, these new notch sights by M Carbo made all the difference. I am able to get on target quickly.
notch sights meant for battle
these notch sights are exactly what i was looking for actually better THANKS
Notch Sight Upgrade
Great option from the peep hole sight that comes with it originally. Follow the YouTube directions and you’ll be fine.

Great upgrade on the Sub 2000
I just finished installing the rear folding notch sight for the sub 2000. The installation was easy and quick. The videos were very helpful guides to the process. I took my 9mm sub 2000 to my local range and was amazed at how much easier it was to acquire a sight picture with the taller rear sight. It was easy to shoot tighter groups and not have to struggle with the OEM sight picture.
I've made several of the internal upgrades offered through M-Carbo and this was the best one for improving the usefulness of the weapon. Thanks!
I have the Keltec sling swivel adapter on my factory rear sight. Is this sight compatible with that?
MCTX July 13, 2024 8:48 PM
The KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sights may not be fully compatible with the Keltec sling swivel adapter mounted on your factory rear sight. The folding tactical rear sight replaces the factory rear sight entirely, which means the sling swivel adapter currently attached to the factory sight would need to be removed or modified.
Key Considerations:
Replacement of Factory Rear Sight:
The Rear Tactical Folding Sight completely replaces the factory rear sight, including any accessories attached to it, such as the sling swivel adapter.
If the swivel adapter relies on the factory rear sight’s structure to stay in place, it will need to be removed.
Compatibility with Folding Mechanism:
The folding design of the tactical rear sight might interfere with the sling swivel adapter's function or placement, especially if the adapter limits clearance for the folding mechanism.
Alternative Sling Mounting Options:
If the tactical folding sight conflicts with your current setup, consider using a M-LOK or rail-mounted sling attachment on the forend or a receiver extension tube adapter to mount your sling elsewhere.
Recommendations:
Evaluate Clearance:
Before replacing your factory rear sight, check if the folding sight has enough clearance to function properly with the sling swivel adapter.
Alternative Sling Points:
Shift your sling attachment point to a different location on the firearm, such as the stock tube or a rail-mounted adapter, to maintain functionality.

Have not had my 2000 to the range yet but equipped it with a red dot site w/ side folding mount. I also removed my rear site. But I’d like to have the option to use the open sites. As this site it taller, will the upward adjustment required on the front site block my red dot as to render it useless? I realize I have to sight in the optic sight but I do not want to spend the money and time to buy the flip up site if it will. Thx
Great question! Whether the upward adjustment of your KEL-TEC SUB-2000 front sight interferes with your red dot sight depends on several factors, including the height of your red dot's mount, the type of folding rear sight you plan to use, and how the optics and iron sights align.
Key Considerations:
Red Dot Sight Height:
If your red dot sight is mounted higher than the plane of the iron sights (which is common with side-folding mounts), it is less likely that adjusting the front sight upward will obstruct your red dot’s view.
The exact height of your red dot relative to the iron sights is the critical factor here.
Co-Witnessing:
If your red dot sight is set up for absolute co-witness or lower 1/3 co-witness with the iron sights:
Absolute Co-Witness: The red dot and iron sights are on the same visual plane. Adjusting the front sight significantly upward may bring it into the red dot's sight picture.
Lower 1/3 Co-Witness: The red dot sits above the iron sights, leaving the lower 1/3 of the optic’s window for irons. In this setup, the upward adjustment of the front sight is less likely to block your red dot.
Flip-Up Rear Sight:
A flip-up rear sight, such as the KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sight, is designed to fold out of the way when not in use. This allows you to run your red dot without interference from the rear sight.
When deployed, the flip-up rear sight will work with the adjusted front sight for iron sight alignment.
Sight Adjustment for Iron Sights:
The upward adjustment of the front sight will only affect the alignment of the iron sights. If your red dot is already zeroed, this adjustment does not interfere with its functionality unless the front sight physically blocks the view through the red dot.
Recommendations:
Measure Red Dot Height:
Before purchasing a flip-up rear sight, measure the distance from your optic's mounting rail to the center of the red dot window. This will help determine if the red dot sits high enough to avoid interference from the front sight.
Test Existing Setup:
Try sighting through your red dot with the front sight already adjusted to its uppermost position. If the front sight does not visibly intrude on the red dot's sight picture, you're in the clear.
Flip-Up Rear Sight:
A flip-up rear sight is a great option because you can deploy it when needed for irons and fold it down to keep the red dot’s view unobstructed.
Conclusion:
If your red dot is mounted higher than your iron sights (common with side-folding mounts), the upward adjustment of the front sight is unlikely to block your red dot. However, if the red dot and iron sights are closely aligned (absolute co-witness), there's a possibility of interference. Testing your current setup at home will give you a definitive answer before investing in flip-up sights.

Hello. Does this sight stay in the up position while you are running the gun? I only use open sights on mine so they have to be 100% reliable. Don't mind manually flipping it up or down. Thank you.
Yes, the KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sight stays securely in the up position while the gun is in use. It is designed with a positive locking mechanism that ensures the sight remains in the upright position until manually folded down. This makes it a reliable option for shooters who prefer to use open sights exclusively.
Key Features for Reliability:
Locking Mechanism:
The folding sight locks into place with a solid detent, ensuring it won’t accidentally fold down during use, even under the recoil of the SUB-2000.
Manual Operation:
You’ll need to flip the sight up manually before use, but once deployed, it is secure. Folding it back down also requires manual effort, meaning it won’t collapse unintentionally.
Durability:
The sight is constructed from robust materials to handle regular use and the dynamic conditions of shooting without losing alignment or stability.
Considerations:
Frequent Use:
If you’re planning to run the gun exclusively with open sights, this folding sight is a great choice as it maintains the SUB-2000’s folding capability while staying reliable during operation.
Testing:
After installation, test the sight to ensure it locks firmly in the up position and holds zero consistently.
Recommendation:
If your primary concern is 100% reliability with open sights, the KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sight is an excellent choice. It balances the convenience of folding with the stability required for accurate and consistent shooting.

With the added height, will this match up to a traditional popup AR style front sight? I put one on mine and it’s obviously too tall but maybe the taller rear would work. I hate the stock front sight.
The KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sight, with its added height, can help align your sight picture with a traditional pop-up AR-style front sight. However, whether it will match perfectly depends on the specific height of the front sight and the distance between the sights on your SUB-2000.
Key Considerations:
Added Height of the Rear Folding Sight:
The tactical folding rear sight is designed to be slightly taller than the stock rear sight to improve compatibility with aftermarket setups, including AR-style front sights.
Front Sight Height:
Most AR-style pop-up front sights are set to standard AR height, which is typically designed for co-witnessing with AR rear sights. On the SUB-2000, this can result in misalignment due to the height differences between the stock front sight and an AR-style rear sight.
Matching with AR Front Sights:
The added height of the tactical folding rear sight may bring the sight picture closer to alignment with a pop-up AR-style front sight. However, perfect alignment will depend on:
The height-over-bore of your chosen front sight.
The precise dimensions of the tactical rear sight when installed.
Recommendations:
Test with the Tactical Rear Sight:
Install the folding rear sight and test it with your AR-style front sight to see if alignment improves. If not, slight adjustments to the front sight height or position may be needed.
Alternative Front Sight:
If you dislike the stock front sight and find the AR-style sight too tall, consider a low-profile adjustable front sight designed specifically for the SUB-2000 or similar setups.
Adjustable Rear Sight:
Ensure the rear folding sight is adjustable for elevation, as this can help fine-tune the alignment with your front sight.
Conclusion:
The KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Rear Tactical Folding Sight is likely to improve alignment with a pop-up AR-style front sight, but achieving a perfect match may require additional adjustments. Testing the setup at home or on the range will help confirm compatibility.

Can the stock front sight still be used with either the peep or notch sight? Or will it run out of adjustment raising it to match?
Yes, you can adjust the front sight to match the rear sight.
I’ve lost the set screw for my sight. Can I buy a replacement?
I’ve lost the set screw for my sight. Can I get a replacement?
Contact us by email at Help@MCARBO.com, and we can help you.
Will this fit the 1st Gen?
Yes, it will work on any generation.
I want to use my red dot only by removing the rear and front sights. Will the 2000 function reliably without the rear sight and what can I use as a thread protector after removing the front sight? I do not want to fold the rifle. Nor do I want to string a series of regular thread protectors over the muzzle.
Does the tactical rear sight open when the gun is unfolded? Or does it have to be done manually?
It has to be done manually. This site does not pop up when you open the gun like the factory site does.
The rear sight should open and sit up automatically when you unfold the rifle, however, on occasion with a newly installed part, you may need to manually flip up the rear sight a couple times to ensure the fit is not too tight preventing it from flipping up.
