sw40ve trigger kit
It is a waste of time and money, didn't reduce the pull by even a pound.
I have installed many MCABO trigger kits and this the only one that did absolutely nothing.
Took the trigger pull from 9.6 pounds down to 5.8
Took the trigger pull from 9.6 pounds down to 5.8
Took the trigger pull from 9.6 pounds down to 5.8
This is one of three sorely needed upgrades for my SW40VE
This M-Carbo trigger spring is actually a drop in replacement for the factory Smith & Wesson SW40VE outer sear spring. This upgrade helped reduce trigger pull to an acceptable level. I used this M-Carbo trigger spring with an Apex trigger an Apex spring kit. All together much much better and now fully acceptable trigger now.

Workes great
Lowered the pull by about 4 pounds and was easy to install. Will shop here again.
Great assembly video (5 stars). Actual ease of assembly (2 stars)
The video is great. I watched it more than 6 times before disassembly. Nevertheless, I took some photos pre-disassembly.
The first challenge was the inner spring (that is retained) that is at least 1/4 inch longer than the MCARBO replacement spring. To prevent the smaller diameter spring from bending over the MCARBO spring required a lot of patience and
the use of needle nose pliers to align both springs.
The second challenge was the pigtail spring. The alignment dowel was too short and not an interference fit. For
me, the alignment dowel was useless. I used the end of a drill bit to align everything before inserting the pin.
Before inserting the entire assembly in the pistol housing I thoroughly lubricated it with BreakFree (mil. spec.)
Final result was acceptable. Not having a gauge to measure pull, I would estimate an approximate 40% reduction in pull effort.
great video. Installation not as simple as portrayed.
I watched the video 6 times so there were no surprises with disassembly. I did, however, encounter a few
unexpected events when reassembling.
1) Factory inner spring is longer than MCARBO replacement. The innerspring tended to bend when assembling.
I used needle nose pliers to hold it in place.
2) The assembly dowel is useless. It should be a tighter fit. I finally used a drill bit to align everything before
installing the press pin.
3) I have no way to measure precisely the pre and post trigger pull force. My experience suggests about a
3-4 pound reduction in pull effort.
Trigger kit. SD40VE not sure which one
Hi!
Just wanted to make sure that this spring is good to go on a model S&W40F. Thanks!
We haven't tested our spring kit in the SW40F, that was their precursor model to the SW40VE. We can't say for sure whether they made any changes with the sear spring, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee the results for your model.
