I own a S&W M&P 45 Shield M 2.0. A great carry weapon. The only problem is the heavy and gritty trigger pull. I ordered the MCARBO trigger spring kit, looking for a possible improvement.
WOW! What an improvement. Following the excellent tutorial, presented by Chris, the disassembly, sanding and polishing, spring installation and assembly was a snap.
In fact, in was fun to work on my own pistol without the need of a gunsmith.
I was so impressed with the results that I bought and installed spring kits for my wife’s Ruger LPC and for my S&W 9 Shield.

Works great
I did my improvement in stages to see what actual impact the kit has. As a base, the starting trigger pull on my Shield was a horrific 7.5lbs. I did a full polish before I got the kit and it dropped to 6lbs and was very smooth. After the kit, the final trigger pull is 4.5lbs and still smooth. Getting down to the 2-3lb range, like in the excellent video is, in my opinion, not realistic nor would it be a light trigger I'd want - too light. I have not had a chance to fire the gun to ensure reliability, but I suspect it will be fine.
Despite the springs, I believe the real key to this kit's success is the polishing. Specifically, concentrate on the trigger bar sear ramp, the trigger bar firing pin safety ramp, the firing pin (where it engages the sear), the firing pin safety plunger, and the sear. Any rough edges contribute to a gritty feel so it's well worth the time and effort to eliminate these and smooth them out.
I am quite satisfied with the results, but I believe it can get better. However, it's beyond the kit's ability or intent. The tiny, remaining grittiness feel comes from two areas, the firing pin block and the sear spring, but you can't do anything about those. Both are a result of friction that could only be alleviated by polishing the inside of the slide (pin safety plunger hole) and a better sear spring pin that doesn't flop around inside the guide.
Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend this kit, it is night and day with what the trigger was like before. My one con is the included sand paper - way too small.
Really made a difference!
I bought this kit to improve the trigger on my S&W M&P 9mm Shield. I started with a 6.5lb pull and with moderate work, was able to get a 4.5lb pull. I followed along with a very well done video. My groupings are much better and the trigger pulls much cleaner. I highly recommend this kit if your trigger is gritty feeling and heavy.
Shield Plus follow up
Finished the installation, and the trigger on my Shield Plus measures 3.5 pounds. Couldn't be happier. I wouldn't want it any lower than that.
Shield Plus results
The spring kit is definitely worth the $24. So far, I have installed the frame springs, and polished the sear and disconnector. Prior to any changes, the trigger pull was measuring 5.5lbs. It is currently measuring 4.5lbs. I'm hoping for another half pound drop, after adding the slide springs, and polishing those engagement surfaces. That'll put the trigger exactly where I want it, for a carry pistol. Time to order the Glock spring kit.

Great, step by step, installation videos. Had a minor concern about striker safety spring and product support quickly responded with an answer I was completely satisfied with. Install went smoothly and decreased trigger pull a titch over two pounds. Great team they have.

Yes, I installed it in my Shield Plus, and ended up with a measured trigger pull of 3.5lbs, and a much better over-all feel. I think it's just right, for a carry gun.

I have a performance center 2.0 S&W shield. Would this kit improve that model as well? It did wonders for my original shield and was very happy with the result in the older model.

Only the striker assemblies are the same. Unfortunately, this kit as a whole is not compatible in the Shield Plus models.

The M&P Shield installation video appears to use a kit labeled 2.0 and Chris calls out the Shield 2.0 in the video. Are the installation instructions the same for the Shield 1.0?

This trigger spring kit will not work in the Shield EZ models.
Does your S&W M&P Shield trigger spring kit fit the M&P 9 Shield Plus?
This kit will work in the Shield Plus, but it will not give you as much of a reduction as we received when installed in the standard Shield
