It is surprising that Keltec would even think that a polymer feed ramp that close to a hot barrel was even considered let alone used. This is a must upgrade for reliability and durability. I did not use the M*carbo polishing kit but a bench grinder with a fabric wheel and polishing compound and it came out smoother than glass though I'm sure their kit works just as well.
Don't hesitate a second when deciding to order this upgrade. It's laughable when you look at the OEM plastic feed ramp on the Sub 2000. There is NO WAY that plastic will last and not eventually lead to a failure. This stainless steel ramp is exactly what is needed to let this rifle do what it needs to do efficiently and quickly. No doubt it will serve you well for many years. Get the polish kit and you are all set. Great product and fast delivery!
Sweet option for upgrade. Think this should have been a metal ramp from the get-go from Kel-Tec. Do polish to minimize carbon build up (much easier to clean when has been polished), and give the bullet nose a smoother trip to chamber. Watch the all-inclusive video for installation - and while you're at it, I'd recommend the pins/screws, and spring kit purchase/install at a minimum.
This is a high quality ramp. Polish it as recommended. My biggest mistake was not viewing Chris’ video on how to change out the ramp, along with a host of other internal improvements. I figured being a man I didn’t have to follow suggestions and recommendations. So after numerous attempts to get the gun to charge properly after completely tearing apart and then reassembling the gun, I finally saw the video. (Dah!) After that, it was a snap. Lesson Learned: View and review any recommended videos or instructional aids, and save yourself headaches and time.
I've had zero feed issues since installing it (admittedly Ididn't have many problems before installing it). As it is not black like the original plastic feed ramp it is way easier to see how dirty things are and when you've got to do some serious cleaning. The installation video made installing it easy.
I bought and installed the stainless steel feed ramp, stainless steel hammer bushing, performance trigger bar along with the trigger spring kit and carbon steel grip pins and screws. Installation was straight forward after watching the video. This is a nice reliability enhancing part.
MCarbo has achieved HERO status - a much needed product, with excellent video detail on installing it. IMO metal trigger and spring kit are MUST dos on this gun; unsure the metal feed ramp is necessary, but I opted to put it in since I'd have the gun apart. Shot last weekend, and it really turns the Sub2K into a different gun. Pro-Tip - be thoughtful about what upgrades you want to install; I only want to take that gun down that far ONCE. It's not Rubik's cube, but not something I want to be doing often. On reassembly, it is likely one of the spring legs pops out the back of the receiver slightly, creating a 1/16th of an inch gap in the back of the receiver/grip. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to push this spring back in as a last step while you're closing the halves of the receiver together - this step is shown in the MCarbo video, but is easily overlooked.
I bought each item in my sub2000 based on reliability and this was the first item I bought. Works great.
As a sort of newbie I want to first congratulate all the members of M-Carbo. Everyone I have had the pleasure of coming into contact with both in person and by telephone have been courteous and helpful in all manners. I have ordered my third order of parts hoping to build my weapon into a better handling and firing machine. The installation videos are awesome and very easy to follow. I am looking forward to receiving my last order of parts to almost complete my rebuild. I would recommend them to anyone who wants fair and honest dealings as well as superior product knowledge that are always willing to help.
A lot of the plastic bits in the Sub2000 are expedient and will, no doubt perform well for a long time. The feed ramp ain't one of them. Just do it.
Quality part - the fit is excellent and the videos are the perfect resource for those unfamiliar with the Sub 2K teardown (this was me, now I'm a pro ; ). Also, extra touches like the stickers are one of the reasons I like to deal with companies like yours. Thanks for what you guys do - keep up the good work!
Just finished polishing and installing my stainless steel feed ramp, another great product from MCARBO, easy do it yourself project for a Sunday morning, thanks to Chris's great how to video, thanks Chris keep up the good work.
The tamp is real know, no more plastic! You can polish and make more eficiente. I really recommend this ramp
Great shipping, awesome videos for installation. Easy to follow and works great on my firearm. Thanks mcarbo!
Amazing might just simply be the best upgrade for the sub ... Have no clue why kel-tec would ever put a PLASTIC feed ramp in a firearm its not shooting plastic.. crazy o well its a polished stainless ramp now, two thumbs up for m*carbo
Took me about 20 minutes to polish to a mirror finish, installed in my .40 cal sub2000 gen2. It went from a jam-o-matic that failed to feed around every 10 shots to running flawless. put 200 rounds through it no jams!!
