Just remove the stock, remove the charge handle and slide the cover over the tube with the slot on the left side so the serial number shows through. Very simple. Haven't tried it yet but it has to be better that hot metal.
This carbine needs a few upgrades out of the box. I love it, but it’s screaming for accessories. It’s fun to shoot from the hip, but when you’ve got a cheek weld, this tube cover is a must. Easy install, great fit. No complaints here. The company emailed me just to make sure I was pleased. Thumbs up MCarbo!

This was purchased as a Christmas Gift that has not been opened as of yet. The product seems to be as advertised. It should efficiently serve the purpose it was designed for.
while the bolt tube looks good, there is a small gap between the buffer tube cover and the new style buffer tube to plastic receiver "nut" this allows the serial number on the bolt tube to be covered as the buffer tube cover can slide around a little since it isn't a perfect fit. Maybe in the future MCARBO will offer different versions of the buffer tube to ensure that it fit perfect? Overall, still VERY satisfied with the appearance of my sub2000 with the buffer tube cover installed.

Easy install looks great just like they say it would work thanks mcarbo …still need to do some more mod to my keltec sub 2k …oh also added the quick release button
This upgrade is as much cosmetic as functional. It looks good and it does add a bit of softness to protect the shooter. I like the M*CARBO inscription.
