Much less aggressive slap of that bolt to the rear thanks to this heavy handle. Combined with the rubber buffer this is a must have for your Sub2k.
I shoot my SB 2K at steel matches, bowling pin and IDPA within the Pistol caliber carbine (PCC) division. The handle does help reduced the impact on my cheek after many rounds fire.
I anstalled the this along with the recoil buffer in my 9mm sub2k. It felt like I was shooting a .22lr and my groups shrunk from a shotgun pattern to 2 moa with the stock sights. I couldn't ask for anything more from these parts. I had been thinking of selling it because I didn't like the felt recoil on my cheek or the poor accuracy, I did have the Mcarbo sleeve on at the time. It is definitely a keeper now.
If you've shot hundreds of rounds through your stock sub while wearing just a t-shirt, you've probably noticed that trademark purple bruise. It won't be as big after you install this thing, along with the brake and buffer. I'm still going to add the tungsten bolt and the rubber butt pad, because I want to see just how soft this thing can get.
Received my order quickly. The online videos were very helpful. I used a magnetic screwdriver and it was tricky. Took couple of tries, but got it installed. Much easier to use that OEM charging handle
I installed this charging handle along with the recoil buffer and a Mcarbo buffer tube sleeve. The recoil change was noticed right away. The only pain in the install is getting the lock screw aligned correctly. I would have had less trouble has I used a non magnetic screw driver to clock the screw. However when I switched to a regular flat tip non magnetic screw driver it went in easily. Well worth the money just based on the looks and functionality
I have purchased parts from MCarbo in the past the quality is perfect fit and finish is great. I found adding these accessories a breeze especially with the videos Chris provides. I definitely plan to purchase additional accessories for my Sub 2000 through MCarbo!
Haven't even shot it yet and I love it. The feel in my hand is so much better then the stock handle. Took me 2 seconds to install.
I agree with most of the others, I would have paid more to replace the complete recoil spring, than tackle that again. You could even charge for a "core charge type fee" to return the original recoil spring after getting the new already installed locking pin. I WONT tackle that again. Fortunately, I did this spring FIRST, so the rest was easy peasy. I am in my mid-50 and my M-A-N strength is not what it used to be, so replacing the locking pin was a freaking nightmare. Just compressing took some creative compressing with some wooden jigs pre-drilled. The HAS to be another option. It is NOT as easy as your video shows. The heavier charging handle is AWESOME bu that stupid "Tool-Less Locking Pin" install is something else! Don't do it unless you have three arms and three hands.
To start off I am a senior citizen and female which was part of the reason for the modification. Found the video to be very helpful and answered any questions I might have. I was able to do it the install by myself which I was pleased with. March easier to use charging handle now.
This charging handle really does make a difference. Not only with reduced recoil but charging is much easier now.. If your thinking about buying this go for it.. You won't be disappointed.
Awesome company, product and service. I was surprised when the items came in earlier than expected. AND, those awesome instructional videos..
Cuts down on the cheek-punishing recoil.
Fatter body makes it easier to charge the rifle! Gave a noticeable lesser felt recoil due to its mass and weight combined with the rubberized butt pad and longer shooting sessions are definitely more fun and enjoyable. Was gonna for the factory charging handle wrap but glad I went this way for a few more extra bucks! Literally have an MCarbo M series Sub2K now with the exception of the red recoil buffer! Thank you MCarbo!
My finger would get pinched between the charging handle and the bolt tube almost every time I charged my S2K. OUCH! No more! I just installed both the recoilless charging handle and bolt tube cover after purchasing them during the recent July 4th sale and what a difference they make. Not a single finger pinch after charging and dry firing several times to make sure everything was working correctly.
