Review
Should have done this sooner. Its a little tough, but doable.
Installed with recoil buffer and tube cover…made this light carbine much more pleasant to fire during extended sessions.
Now my kids can rack this with no problems..
If you own a Sub 2000 this is a "must have" for the FA. The trigger upgrade, must have hammer bushing, must have and polished feed ramp must have. Any thing else is a bonus. Some call this FA a stick with a barrel but with the right upgrades it is the perfect truck/home defense gun. Be strong and live free.
I couldn't give this item enough stars. I shoot my Gen 2 9mm left handed and the rifle always has blown gas back and in my face due to shooting left handed, not any more! This added just enough weight that the gas was being sent down the barrel like it should and not back in my face. recoil reduction was nice too. everything cycled like it should. no failures at all. It did change the point of impact slightly. three clicks clockwise on the front windage and i was back on at 100yds. If you shoot left handed this is a must have. I hope this review helps anyone experiencing the same frustration i had with shooting left handed. Great company. Very happy customer!
With the sub2000 being nearly all polymer and a direct blowback system, mitigating recoil really help make the gun a much better shooter. This part is another piece that helps by adding weight to the bolt and causing it the bolt to come back slower and thus reducing felt recoil. This is a must have in combination with the Mcarbo recoil buffer pad, Mcarbo muzzle break/compensator and if you want, you can also upgrade the bolt to a heavier bolt from keltec Tec like I did.
Just installed about an hour ago. Havent shot it yet but feels as usual with anything from mcarbo to be too quality! BUT Chris please update the installation video for the new version with the locking pin as this had me very frustrated for a minute before i realized that the part had to have been updated . Uploading a new video will definitely help future buyers save a few frustrating minutes . The picture list below the old video helped me but a new video is needed ! Maybe for future ideas a threaded locking pin 🤔🤔🤔 i think it would be awesome to be able to just thread it in with a long allen key rather than trying to get that thing dropped in and trying a few times before getting it set ! Top notch part all in all but i believe Mr.Nelson can make it better !
I recently installed the new heavy duty charging handle. I really like the difference. Nice solid lockup. Nice upgrade.
After watching the video it was easy
first off, I am a very satisfied long term customer and highly recommend this outfit to anyone who wants to improve the operation of their gun... this Charging Handle worked exactly as advertised, and even though I'm older and had a little difficulty with the main spring, the guys in the shop did it for me... you can't ask for much more than that! Very nice upgrade! I'm not sure it made a significant difference with the recoil on my 9mm vs a 40. However, I am very happy with the new look and feel. It is noticeably easier to grip and pull compared to the original handle.
This puppy adds a little tamer to the blowback life. Since it’s only a pistol cartridge, I didn’t care about the kick, but rather save my check bone when lining up sights and shooting. Buy the rubber buffer tube cover and rubber internal buffer, then you’ve got a kitten.
First, the larger charging handle is just a great upgrade. Easier to use especially if you have larger hands/fingers. Second, the felt recoil was reduced so much I could shoot my S2K all day without added cushion to the butt. This is the kind of 2-for-1 upgrade that really makes it worth the money. As always, installation is easy and quality is what you expect from a great MCARBO product.
This handle definitely has more "meat" to it to help to charge the bolt.
I frankly was a little apprehensive about the Charging Handle replacement alignment with the spring and ss screw but to my surprise it was pretty easy.
I thought the original handle with the rubber around it was good, until these went on sale. WTH, picked one up not knowing if I would like larger size or not, but I did know I understand and appreciate the engineering time and thought that went into this product. I also can clearly see and appreciate the difference in the mechanics of operation. Well done Guys......!!!!
