This charging handle is probably the best upgrade I ever made! I wasn’t really expecting it to reduce the recoil, but I combined it with the buffer washer and it makes a world of difference. You can really tell in a side by side comparison. Compressing the spring is a little frustrating but that was due to lack of experience.
Great product that makes the gun easier to function than with the very lite handle that comes from the factory! Easy install process!
A must have no meat on stock one and big berth definitely helps out ur finger and makes her easy to charge it just looks bad A$$
Great idea and actual product. I have no idea how Chris installed the spring cap with the pin while he was trying to record at the same time; very strong work. I’m on of the older guys mentioned in the video. Two person job for me; I compressed the crap out of the spring and my wife slid in the Allen key. Easy peezy after that. A lot of M A N required. Or MAn and WOman.
Wow, this extra weight charging handle, combined with a recoil buffer, tamed the recoil in my sub-2000. In addition, the larger charging handle made cycling the bolt so much easier due to the larger size of the handle. This high quality part was easy to install and is a great upgrade to a sub-2000.
I was VERY skeptical about purchasing this charging handle because the original marketing spiel was strange. I finally bought it for my CQB. It makes a big difference in recoil and sound reduction. It's also easier to grab, and won't put your finger in a position to be pinched anymore.
Not only will this be an easier pull over the standard charging handle, but the weight of this handle will slow the bolt down and reduce your felt recoil. Combine this with other recoil reducing parts and it will be a night and day difference.
Excellent addition to the Sub2000 Gen 2. I watched the video and knew it would be a challenge. Takes patience and creative use of tools to get the job done. I eventually ended up using a long thin shafted screwdriver to have the leverage to compress the spring sufficiently to where it could be locked in place and make the attachment of the integrated locking pin easy enough. I will admit that I did chase the pin around my garage floor a number of times, but that's a different story. With the gun apart adding the bolt tube cover and the recoil buffer was a snap. Can't wait to make more mods................................
Used a 2x4 drilled to hold the end of recoil spring, held in my workmate. Used a 3/32 steel brazing rod piece, sharpened to a point and held with small vice grip plyers to capture the spring. Respect that sharp end when working the spring. A third hand would be handy getting the locking piece into the spring. Cheers
The charging handle and locking pin are just what I wanted, primarily for the larger gripping surface of the handle. I had one problem... I am 76 years old and have moderate arthritis in my hands. I could not install the locking pin on the operating spring. I sent the spring and pin back to M*Carbo for their installation. I a week I had the spring, pin installed - all for $35.00 and they paid the return shipping. Their shipping is a process of excellence in itself. Their tracking was so complete that I got an email telling me that the product was in my mailbox! I have never had a product delivery tracked so thoroughly and efficiently. This is my third dealing with M*Carbo, all three experiences and products were uniformly excellent.
I'm getting stovepipes (FTE) with 9mm 115gr fmj factory ammo. This device may be too heavy. I've re-installed the factory charging handle and will take my Sub 2000 back out "for a ride". Just a reality check. Assuming I don't have FTE problems, I would definitely try the skeletonized charging handle to see if the lighter weight cuts down the stovepipes/FTEs. Stay tuned.
This was the hardest thing to do so much so that I now have to take it to a gunsmith. I also ordered another spring just incase... Maybe consider selling the spring and pin connected.
If you hate the factory charging handle because of how skinny it is and hard to grasp this is definitely the upgrade for you. You wont regret it!
This is the must have / #1 upgrade for the sub2k, in my opinion. Works great!
easy install, after watching the instructions works as advertised.
I watched the installation vid a few times.. A no go for me. But I came up w an easier solution to compress the spring ..The small allen key was a critical part. I used two. Compressed in a few steps. Alternating allen keys to get the right amt. I used
