I added this and the recoil buffer at the same time. Together they significantly reduce the recoil allowing for faster, more accurate followup shots.

Fitting very easy, just watch the videos.

Being 80 years old I have lost my grip ability and could not compress the spring to put on the locking device. I chanced riding over to their offices and shop, and I was able to have them put it on in about 5 minutes. The parts were 1st class both as to fit and quality.

They are a great group of guys and I would recommend M*Carbo shop and parts to anyone.

60% less recoil!? Yeeesss please!

The heaviest of the charging handles offered but I actually like the weight to the firearm that it adds. Looks great and of course, great build quality. Easy install and also makes charging easier than stock. Highly recommended

... and I installed this thing in under two minutes. I drilled a 3/8" hole half way through a piece of 2x4 and put it in a vise. I forced the blades of a pair of scissors into either side of the spring and used that to compress the spring to get the allen wrench in. After that, replacing the tip was simple. It was harder to watch the video that it was to install the tip on the spring.

A better part than OEM.

Have not shot this gun yet , before or after this upgrade. New gun but I installed multiple upgrades soon as I got it. I cleaned spring really well with dawn dish detergent, dryed it then wrapped spring with duct tape to give me more "real estate " to compress spring. I wrapped it several times, made it about three times bigger around than spring is alone.I wrinkled tape on purpose to make gripper. Worked much better to compress spring.Spare hands would help. After I installed locking pin I unwrapped tape and oiled it up. Took 10 minutes of trying without tape, kept slipping. Took 30 seconds to actually do it with tape/grip. Also I put the other end of the spring in a hole I drilled into a wood block to hold it. Most experienced gun guys would know to do the same stuff but newer guys may have problems installing this, then again younger stronger hands make hard jobs easier. Mcarbo needs to make a tool to install these easier. Very doable. I may make something and send it in if EVER get done with my long "spring honey do list "

I just received the newer version of this charging handle with the pin system. I like the concept . It appears to look a lot beefier then the older one and just like all of their parts it should live up to expectations . The original one finally broke and MCarbo sent this replacement handle without any hassles at all, they so stand behind their products ..

A definite refinement of the platform

On such a light and narrow firearm, I found the SUB-2000's recoil to be somewhat more distracting as opposed to recoil experienced on more conventional rifle designs. Adding recoil mass in such an unobtrusive and functional design element is a neat trick and the folks at M-CARBO have dome it right (again). Keep up the good work.

A few less sparks

As a left-handed shooter I've never been hit in the face by brass while shooting the Sub2000 but there has always been plenty of sparks and smoke in my face. I figure this is because the breach is opening a little too soon which usually can be "adjusted" bay adding or removing weight from the bolt/buffer.

Adding this heavy charging handle does help prevent most of the blowback and reduce some of the recoil but not all of it. I think I'll add a heavier bolt/buffer later on to try to get it as smooth as a well ballanced AR style PCC.

A must upgrade for all Sub2000s

I did notice a small difference with recoil but even better you never worry about pinched fingers again! The larger radius makes it a lot easier to charge too.

A nice addition!

I really appreciate this thicker diameter handle. Makes it much easier and less painful to cycle the bolt. I may have clumsy fingers but I thought getting the interior piece into the bolt tube required a bit of patience on my part. Great once in!

A No Brainer

It's no secret that the sub makes a lot of recoil. This part makes a tremendous difference. Pair it with the recoilless pad for best results.

A part of a bigger package

Much more substantial than stock handle. Provides a more positive and comfortable grip. I do believe that the additional mass does help reduce the sharpness of the recoil. Individually, each of these upgrades adds a "little something extra", combined they are transformative.

A true finger saver

The stock charging handle was actually painful for me to use. Not only does the larger diameter of this one make it much easier to charge but the heavier weight helps to reduce felt recoil.

A very worthy upgrade

Huge improvement, providing more recoil-absorbing mass, and more real estate to get your finger around. Easy to install, and truly a 'must have' for the Sub 2k, imo.

ACTUALLY WORKS!!

this charging handle actually gave me reduced recoil personally. the handle is easier to charge and to release.

i felt noticeably less recoil and i feel its due to the larger surface area covered by the notched slot that fits the buffer spring.

good buy. from here in CANADA
