Great upgrade to my Sub 2k, doesn't hurty finger anyone when pulling the charging handle. Took a little effort to install but with the video got it done.
I purchase the charging handle and watched a video on installation that Chris explains in detail I’m very happy with my purchase I will definitely be buying more parts for my sub-2000 …thank you mcarbo
Makes a difference in precieved recoil. Little trouble installing. Followed video directions but toward the end the plastic retaining plug flew off. The spring is very stout. I removed the u shape springs from inside the coil spring. Put a small piece of tape on the u spring to keep it from sliding together. Reinserted the u shape inside the coil spring. Then drilled about a two inch hole in a piece of wood and inserted the spring. Compressed it down with a small screwdriver and then was able to place the metal piece on the end of the spring. Then I just used a flame to dissolve the tape inside. Works great
After a few practices and a using a work glove to get the spring compressed I got it. It’s tac-ta- cool along with the sight mount and can’t help not to love the Mcarbo products.
Ok I love the charging handle itself and the install was easy UNTIL…adding that locking pin to the spring was very frustrating as warned by instruction video. It’s well worth the struggle for me though!
I installed the M-Carbo no-recoil charging handle on my Sub 2000. I had read several posts about how hard and frustrating it was to install the charging handle keeper. I had an old screw starting tool laying around for several years, I used this tool to install the keeper, it took about 15 seconds and I was done. E-bay has them for about $10
Order this and installed it today, I watched the installation video on YouTube and it went flawlessly. Great quality product and helps with the recoil with my Kel-Tec sub 2k. Good upgrade and guilty engineering.
Makes charging easy
I purchased a charging handle, bolt tube cover, recoil buffer and muzzle break. All products were delivered quickly and in tact. I am not a novice shooter but I am at installation. I was able to follow Chris on the videos and install all parts alone. See you guys soon for the trigger package and feed ramp! Top notch!
Great improvement in grip. No longer pinching my fingers. And the weight of this thing is surprisingly heavy. There is no doubt that it contributes alot to reduction in recoil. The only gripe i would have is putting your firearm back together after a field strip requires a bit of finesse with the set screw/pin, and the necessity of a screwdriver. Not that it is a big deal just a bit more involved.
Not as easy as video. Really needed 3 hands but after finished great satisfaction
This upgrade is well worth it. It really reduces recoil and no misfires or jams today after installation. Be sure to watch the proper video for installation which will include both pieces. One of the videos from the older charging handle does not show both pieces. Other than that this is a great upgrade for this platform.
First of all the shipping time is incredible. Has been faster than even they expected. I am that 66 year old guy with arthritis and a chainsaw scar on my left hand. I am much more cautious with firearms than i am with my 20v chainsaw aparently. I purchased the recoiless charging handle. I watched the install video several times and put it off for a week or so before I decided "here goes". I am not going to say it was easy by any means. Getting that lower half of the spring compressed as much as possible is the key. A second person to slide in the micro screwdriver would have been a big help. I did get it compressed pretty good but I still had to fight compressing the upper part of the spring. I fought holding down the spring while trying to install the little adapter for an eternity(about 30 seconds) until it kind of just fell on. I did a little happy dance. Installing the spring back in the rifle was a breeze. I am very happy with ther performance of the handle. Bottom line is.......If I can do it you can too. You are going to have to "want" to do it though.
I bought this along with the buffer for my 9mm Sub2k. The combination of the two products together did what I wanted it to do: the gun holds better with the added weight, cocks easier with the larger knob, reduces recoil noise, and it took the sharp bite out of the recoil.
