I ordered my trigger kit and it came within a couple of days. With the help of the video installation was a snap. Make sure you are in a place where you can see and keep up with all parts. When I tried out the new trigger pull I was pleasantly surprised. It was better than expected. Trigger pull was cut by half at least. Thanks brothers!
I installed the Axis Pro trigger kit in my newly purchased Savage Axis XP and it was a simple install. The stock trigger was 6-6 1/2 #. I used the 2 1/2# return spring , in between the 1 1/2 and 3 1/2. On the first pull it tripped at 2.5#. the three subsequent pulls were 2#, 2#, 2#. In addition to the spring kit I Dremeled the sharp edges of the stock trigger and polished it on a buffing wheel. It feels like a totally different trigger. I cannot wait to get it out to the range and do some testing with new loads.
Always liked my Axis but the factory trigger was not the best for accuracy. Installed the Pro Kit and instantly felt the difference. I don't have a trigger pull gauge but my finger can tell the difference. Very nice and super easy to install. Makes this $250 rifle a very good deal
I installed the savage axis pro kit to improve the otherwise poor factory trigger and I am very pleased! I don't have a trigger gauge to compare, but it lightened it up considerably. It should help my shooting skills considerably. Did the 6" and 12" drop test and all is well. Price was very reasonable . It's refreshing to do business with a company that cares about their customers. Their professional business model could teach a lot of others how it should be done. I hope your business thrives! I don't write a lot of reviews but I will recommend and reorder again. My son's axis is next! Thanks
Spring kit makes a big difference. Reduces pull and illuminates slop.Great upgrade.
Super easy to install and a great trigger now! Thanks guys for an awesome kit!!
I bought this to replace the 6lb trigger spring in my savage axis 6.5 creedmoor. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! Installation is super easy and quick, the instruction video is very well put together and detailed! I used the 3.5lb spring and it’s perfect! I would recommend this to anyone!
Does what it is designed to do. The trigger is now smooth and just right in the weight. It makes my rifle much more enjoyable to shoot.
Fantastic results from this product. Shipping came sooner than thought. Got it installed in no time. Instant tight grouping. Thank mcarbo.
Recently, I was able to test my axis at a 150 yard range for the first time. This is where I discovered the trigger deficiencies of this gun. I installed your kit and the difference is astounding! No more super effort for decent groups. Great value Keep up the good work !
Fast shipping and very well packaged. After watching the installation video parts were a small to install. Trigger pull is noticably lighter with a crisp let-off, and no more wobble in the trigger. Great kit guys!
Purchased this to help with accuracy on my daughters Youth model. Stock trigger pull averaged 5lbs 3oz. New trigger pull is 3 1/2 lbs and very consistent. Easy install and great quality parts, especially for the price. Will update after some range time.
My 15 year old lacked confidence in his shooting. I had zeroed his 6.5 Creedmoor Savage Axis XP and did not like the feel of the trigger. It wobbled and could be called almost crunchy - when you squeezed you never knew when the take up would end and the firing pin would hit the primer. It was accurate but not consistent. I read all the forums and it seemed I was not alone. So I figured I'd pony up a $20 and order the pro kit. WOW! The trigger feels not only lighter but smoother all the way through. Shot to shot consistency was excellent and it does not accidentally fire - tested with multiple points to see if it would dry fire. My son absolutely loved it and now has full confidence in his shooting. He put his rounds dead on target. Maybe if some deer would come around he could bag his first! Best advice, watch the video once through and position your rifle in the same direction as the video. The hardest part is the grease and shims -- I was a bit too conservative at first but then I slopped it on and it was easy to set. Also - not sure why the video shows the application of Loctite 242 that way - but I first set the screw in, then applied the Loctite to the threads I knew were going to be set - made for much less cleanup and no seepage of Loctite onto the trigger itself. The trigger group almost feels as good as some aftermarket groups in high-end sporting rifles - certainly far better than a sub-$300 rifle should. Now to add a Boyd's stock and this thing will sing!
My family loves Savage rifles especially the Axis. We have been buying them for years and I have one in 6.5 Creedmoor, 270 and 223. My son has a 6.5 Cm, a 243 and a 308, he just bought a Axis XP 350 Legend for his son. All had crappy triggers. I bought a kit for my 6.5Cm and couldn't believe it. I put the 3.5# spring in it and with the trigger shimming it measured at 3.2# and very crisp. I bought a second for my grandsons 350 Legend, again awesome. I'm ordering another 5 kits, maybe 6. This kit is the best bang for the buck there is and is a MUST for any stand trigger Axis out there. Took me 10 minutes to install on my dining room table.
Night and day difference. Definitely something worth picking up if you have an Axis
The parts provided in the kit were easy to install and fit the firearm as described and made the trigger light and crisp. However, after installation of the 2.5 and later the 3.5 lb spring a light tap on the receiver with a rubber mallet would cause the trigger to release which would result in an accidental discharge. I left the overtravel screw and trigger shims from the MCARBO kit installed but sourced a heavier spring for the sake of having a safer firearm.
