Bought a spring kit for an Axis. Trigger pull was 4# not bad for factory. Installed the 2.5# spring and cannot get trigger pull below 3#8oz. buy an aftermarket trigger and save yourself some money.
This upgrade is an absolute must have if you have one of these rifles. Complete game changer.
I kick myself for not buying it sooner. If you have a Savage Axis XP, it will make a huge difference in your trigger. Better trigger equals better accuracy. As a hunter accuracy make clean kills at longer distances.
this kit without a doubt cleaned up the trigger, night and day. still felt a little grainy when i was dry firing but after about 10 rounds down range it cleaned up a little. still a little bit of take up in the initial pull but as the title says, dont breathe to hard once you start to pull cause itll go off. i didn't have a meter to do any before and after trigger pulls but this spring definitely put it in the 2 lb range. installation took less than 20 minutes.
My savage .308 got an upgrade, haven't been to the range yet but the 3.5 lb spring feels good. Really simple upgrade if you're able to work some hand tools.
Received and installed today, took less than 10 mins. Followed the instructions emailed to me and customer support seems awesome from all the emails. Very happy with the trigger feels really good. Passed on the business card already to a buddy at work. Who has the same gun.
The item was shipped very quickly. The install was very easy, just like the video. I am so happy with the difference in the trigger pull. I'm very happy with the product and will bee back.
Seriously, kit was super easy to install. First level of difficulty was me finding my Allen wrenches. Second difficult part was getting the trigger and shims (adhered with the supplied grease) into the trigger housing. Mine appeared to be a bit snug, but eventually went in without much issue. I went from around a 6lb pull down to about 2.5lb pull. The only suggestion I could make would be to supply a little tube of locktight like you did the grease. I don't have much use for a standard bottle of the stuff, but had to purchase it for this project.
This was one of the easiest cheapest upgrades available for the Savage Axis. Less than 10 minutes to install, reassemble and function test. I did not have the opportunity to test the pull weight before and after, but this has improved the pull and feeling of the trigger more than I could have anticipated for the price.
I ordered the Savage Axis Pro Trigger Kit last week. After I placed my order MCARBO sent at U-Tube video before my tigger kit arrived. My trigger arrived in 5 days. The video was outstanding explaining how to step by step preform the trigger upgrade and what a great upgrade it is! Trigger is smooth with a greatly reduced pull. I don’t have way to measure the pull, I know it is greatly improved. Great company to work with!
This was easily done and excellent results! I have upgraded all my hunting rifles with MCarbo products and I’m thoroughly pleased with all of them. I recommend their products to all my friends and family!
The vid made it easy. Watch for that 'e' clip holding the trigger swivel bolt, it does fly away, and is so small it can take time to find on the floor.
Easy to install. Made a $250 gun like a $500. Highly recommend
I couldn't pass a sale at Cabelas on a Savage Axis in 6.5 Creedmore for $200. Trigger was horrible. Ordered this product and with the video on this website it was easy to install. And what a difference. Crisp trigger and very happy. Thanks
