Review
Super easy to install. They sent a follow-up email with links to installation videos, which I thought was excellent customer service. Thought it was really cool that the packaging had a target in it and came with a sticker. The little details in their customer service was pretty sweet.
The kit came unbelievably quick. It only took 7 business days to arrive in my mailbox in Australia. Very impressed. I followed the YouTube installation video and it was as easy as it was made out to be, taking only 10 minutes to install. The shims take almost all of the play out of the factory Savage Axis trigger. The spring is firm enough to be comfortable that the gun won't fire when I don't want it to, but light enough to fire without pulling the rifle off target, and the overtravel screw was easily adjusted to all but eliminate any overtravel. I highly recommend this product, I really can't fault it .
M?CARBO is doing what all Americans want to do. They're making great products at a fair price and supporting those who watch over us, un-noticed and under-appreciated. The trigger kit was perfect, installed in minutes and made an inexpensive gun much more accurate (for about $20). Could you ask for more? Keep it up M?CARBO! Looking forward to many years of service together
I installed this on a 6.5 creedmore that I am hunting with for the first time. Sighting in my scope I noticed the trigger was a little heavy for my liking. I read an article in Concealed Carry magazine about the M carbo trigger for Savage Axis. It was installed in about 15 minutes and the difference was really nice. Very happy with this product.
Easy to install, very helpful video, super impressed with results. Trigger pull reduced from 6# to 2.5# - just as important - smooth as glass! Great product.
There's probably a good chance you bought an Axis because it's a solid budget rifle. There's an equally good chance that you'd prefer not to drop $150+ on upgrading the trigger. This kit is a great little package that works well for the budget minded shooter. I'd recommend it to any Axis owner. Super quick shipping and incredibly easy installation. Very happy with this simple mod.
I ordered this trigger kit and it was ready to go the next day. Received it in about a week. I didn't test the actual trigger tension but it definitely reduces it to a suitable weight for my hunting rifle. The instructional video is done very well too. Thanks!
After viewing the product installation instructions, I installed the 3.5lb spring, trigger shims and overtravel screw. You have to be careful how short you make your overtravel. If you make it to short, you can't fully depress the bolt removal lever to get the bolt out. Check that before you lock tight the overtravel screw. I cleaned and lubricated the trigger, sear contacts and it made a tremendous difference in the pull and over travel. I'm totally satisfied with the products.
received promptly & in good condition fit my savage axis well, easy to install brought trigger pull down a lot.great instructions and great follow up
Have a small gun/gunsmith shop, ordered a few to have on hand, have already installed most of them
As advertised. It shipped fast, arrived in about 3 days, and went in exactly as described in the video. Hardest part is removing the factory wax. The kit dropped the trigger pull weight from 6.25 lbs to 4 lbs. While in there, I applied some of the PTFE grease to the sear/trigger interface and it got rid of the gritty creep. I expect the trigger to only get better with use.
Good product, easy 10 minute installation, lowered trigger pull from 6.4 to 3.2 lbs. Fast shipping, no complaints.
My Savage Axis 243 shoots sub moa all day with factory ammo when I can manage the 4-6 pound factory trigger. I installed the 2.5 pound spring which breaks at 2.8 pounds consistently and shot a 1/2 moa at 200 yards today running a Vortex Diamondback 4-12 BDC. Consistency improves accuracy!
Great affordable kit with a video that took longer to watch than I spent installing. I installed the 2.5# spring first, and while fantastic for target shooting, it's not what I want for a hunting rifle so I switched to the 3.5# spring. Easy crisp release compared to the pull/yank of the OEM trigger.
I had bought a Salvage 6.5, took it out to the range but was not happy with the trigger pull so I had put Mcarbo spring kit in my hand gun and loved it so I got one for this rifle and was very happy with the results.
Great product worked great dropped 2 lbs
