I was actually here to grab a trigger spring for a ruger american, but grabbed a savge kit while I was at it. My son's scoutmaster uses a savage axis. I helped him with developing a handload and the requisite range work. The trigger was atrocious. This kit took his trigger from 87 ozs down to an average 34 ozs. He was astounded at the improvement.
Read the reviews and watched the video before ordering. Easy to install, however I had to heat up the adhesive on the stock spring to get it out. Just used a butane lighter. Don't have a trigger pull scale but it is noticably lighter and I don't feel like the gun jerks when the trigger releases. I am confident my groups will be smaller.
I never realized how much this kit helped. Literally night and day. I used the 2.5 spring and hot dawg that thing is smooooooth! I may however switch for the 3.5 but I wanted to try the 2.5 first. Literally just follow the video and your done took me a grand total of 5 mins to install. Very satisfied. If I get another axis you bet your sweet ass this'll be the first thing I do!
This kit is a GAME CHANGER.....The trigger on my axis is smoother and lighter than the drop in kit I put in my AR. Its SUPER SIMPLE to install....I mean I figured it out so anybody can do it. The differenfe is NIGHT AND DAY.....its a better trigger than on my rifles that cost twice as much now. Havent had a chance to take it to the range, still doing some more work on other aspects of it....but this trigger....JUST GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!
After a little work with the Savage and MCarbo trigger kit the results were so great it was hard to believe. I thank every Savage owner should use this trigger kit.
I bought a savage axis youth as my sons first deer rifle. The trigger was just way too heavy to pull for him. I put in the springs and shims. I haven’t had a chance to get to the range yet, but man, what a difference! When doing some dry fire training myself, there is zero movement during the trigger pull. Absolute game changer really just making that gun so much better!
Wife hunts with a Savage Axis that does not have AccuTrigger. And we all know that trigger suck. To the point we almost just got her a new rifle. But decided to give this little spring kit a shot (pin intended). After installing the 2.5lb......DANG!!!!! It's dope now. Super smooth. I personally love a hair trigger. It's definitely light. But that's what we wanted. Just be careful first few times you shoot it. It will surprise you. ONLY reason I gave 4 starts is because I do wish it came with a little tube of loktite. I had to buy a bottle that I will probably never use again. But it is what it is. Overall very pleased.
My axis 6.5creedmoor diddnt have a horrible trigger to start but it was a lot heavier than I wanted so I decided to get this over the $125 timney trigger I used the 2.5lb spring night and day worth every penny and then some I’m getting ready to buy another for my 30-06 super easy installation as well
Put these kits in 3 of my savage axis, .350 legend, 22-250, and .30-06. Makes a world of difference on trigger pull, cleans up the play in the trigger from side to side, simple and easy to install, and love that the new kits come with the option of a 2.5 and 3.5 pd spring.
Absolutely Awesome.. Super easy to change out this spring and the washers took out a lot of slack. the upgrade spring made the trigger pull amazing. I Definitely recommend. Fast shipping and great customer service.. Thank Yall.. 😉
Takes the heavy trigger and makes it crisp clean no slack and usable. It took it from 6lbs to just under 3. The shims took out most of the side to side slack. I plan on ordering the spring set up for more of my rifles.
I just put the trigger kit in... what a huge difference..night and day.. I only ended up needing 1 of the washers to tighten up the side to side play. Works great
First and foremost I want to recognize mcarbo as a very reputable and friendly company. Their communication is excellent. Second, this part worked great and I would highly recommend it!
I just installed on both my 6.5 and 270. Everything fit nice and tight. Triggers work smoothly. I didn't measure the resistance before or after but I would say definitely at least a 50% reduction. Need to order one for my LCP now!
You won't believe the huge improvement this kit makes in a standard axis trigger. Highly recommend installing this kit.
Excellent upgrade to the notoriously heavy Axis trigger. I had avoided the Axis for many years because of the bad/heavy factory triggers. Let’s keep this kit a secret so the price of the regular Axis rifle doesn’t go up too much, lol! I have no way to measure trigger weight so I don’t know what mine breaks at, but it feels much better than the stock setup. I had a few people at the range try it and they were all surprised and said it felt very crisp and light, but not dangerous (I used the hunting weight spring, as it’s a hunting rifle). Trigger was even compared to Tikka and Bergara triggers by a couple people so I think that speaks volumes about it and it’s definitely money well spent!
