Easy to install. Dropped my trigger pull to 2.5 lbs . Shims took the side to side play out. Now my trigger is smooth as butter. Love it. I ordered it and in 2 days it was in the mailbox. Super fast shipping!
Awesome trigger relief! Decreased the trigger pull as described with a greatly reduced trigger wobble with the provided shims. Makes trigger pull nicer for tighter grouping with fewer “pulled” shots.

This trigger upgrade kit for my axis made a huge difference. It took care of the excessive trigger pull with the new spring and side to side play with the shims. The factory trigger was pretty rough but with the upgrade it’s buttery smooth!

Even without a trigger pull guage I can tell a big difference, not only the trigger pull but the side to side play is almost non-existent. Love it.
DO NOT BUY THE AXIS II. This kit for the Savage axis utterly amazed me. You can asjust the trigger travel via the hex bolt, the shims eat 100% of the side slop and the "sweet spot" is perfect. Why pay $100.00 for a sweet "factory" trigger when rhis kit does the EXACT same thing for way less. I'm so impressed I'm going to be ordering kits for my other rifles and shotguns.
purchased a Savage Axis XP this year for long range deer hunting in Nevada. It is a great rifle, but the trigger was awful – 6lbs at least. Couldn’t keep it on target to fire. I purchased your Savage Axis trigger kit as a “Hail Mary” to save my new rifle, and installed it myself. What a HUGE difference it made! I was actually on target for my sight-in prior to my hunt, and I filled my tag on day one with a shot from 120 yards. Thanks, M-Carbo! You saved my hunt. P Klouse
There is no reason I can think to spend the extra money on an Axis II with the Accutrigger. Just get the original Axis with the heavy trigger and then buy this kit for $26 after shipping and buy ammo with your savings. The original trigger is gritty and super long. This 5 minute upgrade makes it feel like a different gun.would recommend and buy again.

Was really excited since it comes with a "3.5 lb" spring that is higher than most kits I could find, and prefered (by me) for hunting use. I tested both springs. The 2.5lb spring was very consistent at 2 lb pull, but the 3.5lb spring wasn't really any better, pull weight varied from as low as 2lb to a max of 2.5lb (so less than 2.5lb average). If it was always just going to be me then it probably would be useable, but since this is my kid's deer rifle I don't fell comfortable with it that low.
