This is a great product and after watching the youtube instructions installation was a breeze. The trigger pull was greatly improved and with the hunting spring installed, passed the drop test. I did strike the recoil pad of the rifle against a cement floor VERY hard several times to simulate a drop and the unloaded rifle did not "fire".
I purchased a Thompson Center Compass in 308 a few months ago for a spare rifle because the price was to low to pass up, only problem was the trigger pull was 6.5lbs to 7lbs adjusted as low as it could go, I must have gotten one of their heavier ones. I found your trigger spring kit on YouTube and decided to give it a try, it was very easy to install with your installation video. I first tried it with the hunting spring which brought the trigger down to 4.5lbs, I then put in the target spring and it now releases at 3.25lbs every time, drop tested about 25 times without any fire pin release, trigger feels great. I have also never bought from a company with such great service and follow up to make sure their product arrived and that I was a satisfied with that purchase, I have already told of your product to a couple of friends with the same rifle and know they'll be ordering soon. Thank you Gentleman, and keep up the good work, it's hard to find now days. Robert Hicks
Trigger pull started at 6lb 7oz average. Installed this spring kit and new pull weight is 3lb 4oz and consistent. Easy to install.
Was having trouble keeping good groups with a 6lb trigger on my Compass. Easily followed the video and installed the spring kit to get a nice 3lb hunting trigger. Thanks MCARBO, I will be back!
I don’t know if the “Hunter” spring brought the trigger pull to 2.5lb, but it sure is better than what it was. Very crisp, very smooth. The installation video is on YouTube from MCarbo and was perfect to help me get the trigger assembly out together. I didn’t have all the tools he had, but it with a little push pin and a tiny Phillips head, it all worked as advertised! After hunting season I’ll be sure to put the benchrest trigger and give it a whirl as well. 10/10 would recommend for an ya compass owners.
I installed the heavier "hunter" spring. Was 4.5 lb. stock, now 3.5 lb. with the new kit. Note 1: Step 11 in the printed instructions can be deleted as the second hinge pin should not be installed yet at this point. Note 2: I reinstalled a nut on the overtravel screw on the non spring side as a jam nut along with some removable loctite for a little security sake to keep it from rattling loose. Personal preference, not mandatory.
Ordered a trigger kit for me and a friend's Thompson center compass. Order came quickly and we couldn't be happier with the product. Triggers are amazingly short and crisp. They sent a video to my e-mail that made it easy to install, and all the follow up e-mails after the fact shows that they really do care about their customers. Would not hesitate to do business with them again.
This are great and easy to install. Using the hunter spring it dropped my trigger pull from 5.5# down to 3.4# and passed a drop test. I can't say enough good things about this spring set especially for the cost.
Arrived on time, real quick. Easy install. Have not been to the range to shoot, will follow up after. Thanks MCARBO.
Tried this spring kit. Took the 6lb trigger down to 4.25lb with the hunting spring. took it to 3.5 with the bench spring.
Put this in tc compass, drop tested on concrete floor, used rubber mallet on stock around bolt area, never did fire ( empty chamber), made a excellent trigger.
Changed my 5lb .308 Compass trigger into a solid 3 lb. Gun is way more pleasant to shoot now.
Exactly as advertised and the best $20 I’ve spent in a long time. Great kid MCARBO
I was very skeptical about this trigger kit. I've tried other springs kits on the market and they all made the trigger feel great, but all failed the drop test...miserably. I figured that I'd give mcarbo a try and if their kit fails I can return it. I am very pleased to say that this kit with the hunter spring passed my own personal 18 inch drop test onto hard concrete; however, the trigger did fire at 19 inches. I'm fine with 18 inches since here in the Colorado mountains I don't walk with a loaded chamber and there isn't many random concrete slabs in the mountains. Regarding the trigger pull, I'll echo what others have said and there is a noticeable decrease in pull. I don't have a gauge but this kit make the TC trigger feel identical to my Savage accutrigger at it's lowest setting. Very good kit and I highly recommend.
I replaced the spring in 2 TC Compass Rifles (.243 and 6.5 Creedmoor). Now, I have 2 identical rifles with identical scopes and nearly identical trigger pulls. The instructions were excellent and made the job very easy. I can hardly wait to get to the range and see how the groups tighten up. Thanks MCarbo for a great product.
Put trigger springs in my T/C Compass. Took about 30 minutes to install fairly easy if you are mechanically inclined. Reduced trigger pill from 4.5 down to 2.6 lbs. no more creep nice smooth pull.
