Review
If you purchased a Compass rifle post recall you will notice a very heavy trigger and no ability to adjust it lighter. This could of been a very disappointing rifle purchase if not for this Spring kit. The kit comes with all springs needed as well as 2 primary trigger springs, one for hunting and one for benchrest. Since this rifle will be a hunting rifle I installed the hunting spring. Easy installation with great install video provided. The Compass trigger already had a very nice break to it so installing these springs was the trick to lighten it up and now I can not tell really any difference between this trigger and the Timney trigger in my Ruger. Avoid the disappointment and order this Trigger spring kit!
Great trigger fix! Feels now like it should...I'm no longer lifting a barbell with my index finger! I look forward to actually taking this T/C .308 rifle hunting this year...Previously I've always chosen my Savage Accutrigger .270WM simply because of the trigger, even though it's too much rifle where I hunt. Can't wait to get to the range and see this rifle be the MOA rifle as advertised. The video is good. It simply needs to be edited in the beginning to show that there are 2 spring choices included (bench and hunting) and that you can install the bottom locknut vs using loctite. The paper instructions...well, up/down, right/left, I got dizzy trying to read them. Ha.
Got the kits for my two Thompson Center Compass Monday afternoon and had them installed 30 min later. The kits are absolutely wonderful. Dropped the .223 from 5+ # to just under 2 # and the 6.5 Creedmoor from 7 +, to just over 3# avg using the bench rest spring on both. The .223 is used for ringing steel mostly and the 6.5 is used for steel and predator hunting so it couldn't have worked out better. Thank-you for a great product. Your videos are worth more than you can imagine. You do the videos so well that when I did the changeover it was like I had already done it myself before. I have never experienced service after the sale as complete as you have offered. Checking to see if I needed help in any way with the installation is above and beyond what I would have expected.
I was a bit skeptical of how much difference this trigger spring kit would affect my Compass but decided to give it a try as it was only $19.95 - REALLY GLAD I DID IT! The video M Carbo provides on their web page and the labeled packaging made installation go very smoothly. The results were much better than I could have imagined and the trigger is 10 times better all around. Worth every 1,995 pennies spent.
I ordered my TC trigger spring kit and I received it in a timely manner. They checked with me to make sure it was delivered in a timely manner which it was . I like that they had a spring for hunting or bench shooting. I watched the video on their link and I had it together quickly and it made a big difference from the factory settings. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to upgrade their trigger. Thank You Shawn
Made that trigger better than any other rifle I own Put a 200 lb buck down with that 223 T/C yesterday 🦌
This spring kit came quickly and was easy to install, this gun is a real shooter now, I very satisfied Thanks Guys
Purchased a T/C Compass .308 for it's low price and special features usually not available on lower priced weapons (under $300.00). One of the features is adjustable trigger and it is. However, I was not able to get the pull below 6.5 Lbs. The M*Carbo spring kit was just the right answer. M*Carbo has a U-Tube video with complete instructions on how to install the springs. The kit reduced my T/C from 6.5 to 3.5 Lbs. Very safe for the 6 & 12 inch drop test as well. Fast shipping, fair price, and a quality product. Great Company you can trust. Highly recommend!
This kit rocks, socks and all. My first full spring kit to install and it was a breeze. Lowered my trigger pull by 2 pounds in 20 minutes. Support and service up the wazoo! Chris and his team are stellar! Buy from these guys. They've got it going on.
Before I was aware of this spring kit, I had machined the upper jam nut thinner which brought me from 5.5 lbs. to 4.5lbs. Then I ordered the Mcarbo kit and got it in 4 or 5 days. I only installed the sear and secondary trigger spring and left the thinner nut and other two factory nuts and factory primary spring just for a look-see. This took me down to 3.8lbs. with which I a happy. I have installed Mcarbo spring kits in my sub2k and my su16b as well as other Mcarbo stuff and have been very satisfied.
The product is awesome it really make my sccy trigger lighter by half and I recomend this product. It was the same as it was shown in the video and not hard to do . Love the product and Thanks to Mcarbo
The kit was simple and easy to install. I don’t have a trigger pull tester but the I installed the 1.5 lb pull replacement spring and it sure feels smooth.
From opening the bag to testing the trigger it didn’t take 20 min. Spend the time and watch the instruction video it shows everything you need in detail. Great product
Takes the TC Compass from a good shooter to a great shooter. Thanks!
Ordered the trigger spring kit for my Thompson Center Compass. Factory trigger was extremely stiff. It was serviceable after I made the maximum adjustment possible. This kit comes with two different main trigger springs one recommended for hunting and one recommended for bench rest shooting. I installed the spring kit for hunting and was very happy with the results. I don't own a trigger pull guage but noticed pretty nice difference in the trigger. This is not the best part of my experience. The customer service was phenomenal!! The owner of the company followed up with me at every step from thanking me for my order to making sure I received it. Mcarbo then sent me a link with installation video and printable instructions. Extremely happy with the service and my experience!!
Installation not particularly difficult. Even at the lowest factory adjustment, the factory trigger pull was 5.5 lbs. When you're at the range and slowly pulling the trigger and you begin to wonder if you left the safety on, you know your trigger needs work. I installed the stronger spring. It now measures a consistent 4.5 lbs. I may switch over to the other spring to get it down a bit more.
