I ordered the springs because 5.5lb trigger pull is too heavy for hunting. Watching the video and then replacing the spring was a snap. Did a drop test from 14 inches about 20 times with the new pull at 3.5 lbs. No issue. What a pleasant surprise to receive follow up mail first asking if I received the order and were there issues, then how was the installation going. I had no issue and was very happy with the support. I will be buying from this vendor whenever they have a product I can use!
I am very pleased with the results of this spring kit. The installation video was extremely well done. It showed and explained everything perfectly, including the post 2016 model counterweight modification that Thomson has added to make sure it handles the drop test, which the pre 2016 models did not. In fact they point out that Thomson did a voluntary recall on this and suggest that you contact Thomson for the modification if you don't have it already. I did not do the drop test on mine as I have my scope already installed and dialed in so I didn't want to throw it off by dropping on the concrete at 6". I checked my initial pull on the factory set up and it was at 6lbs 10oz. I installed the hunting spring and it dropped to 5lb 3oz. I was looking for something in the range of 3.5lbs, so I went with the bench rest spring and it brought it down to 3lb 7.4oz which was right in the range I was looking for. Butter smooth trigger pull without being a hair trigger. I guess my only negative thought is I expected the bench rest spring to be much lighter than that but since I wasn't looking for a 1.5lb pull I really have no complaints. Once again I am very satisfied and would have given a 5 star except I think the bench rest one should have been lighter. If I were looking for the lighter pull I'm not sure how that spring would have gotten me there. This has taken this rifle to another level with the addition of the new springs.
Installing The springs was very easy maybe 15-20 mins to install. The trigger is very crisp. A lot better then the stock springs. I installed the hunting spring one.
I read a review about the gun I was about to purchase and and there were a couple of reviews that recommended getting this trigger kit from M*Carbo. After I made my purchase I got online and punched the trigger ki . I like the videos they helped out a lot I plan on makeing more purchases in the future for all the aftermarket parts I can purchase through my company.
For sure a great upgrade from the original trigger springs. For only $20 you can't go wrong.
I love what this spring kit did for my T C Compass. I don't have a trigger gauge but it made a very noticeable positive difference and passes my drop tests. It was simple to install and meets every expectation. Thank you for a great product.
This kit lightened my trigger pull up as advertised and the hunter spring was drop safe in the factory stock but after putting my gun in an aftermarket Boyd's spikecamp wood stock that has a more firm butt pad it will now fire if dropped from about 6" onto a hard floor when not on safe. I ended up just putting in the target spring and being ok with it but be warned that aftermarket stocks may negate the drop safety rating.
After I shot my boys .243's at the range I immediately ordered two, took me almost 10 min for the first and 4 to install the second. My Lyman trigger gauge has them both at a consistent 3.5lb pull in a TC Compass .243 with the "Hunting" spring. The take-up, break, and overtravel all feel great. My boys and I are very happy with it especially given the price.
It reduced my trigger pull from just under 6# to just over 3#. It’s a ton easier to adjust your over travel without the lock nuts.
I bought a TC Compass and discovered the trigger weight was approximately 7.7-8.0 lbs out of the box. It seemed unresponsive to adjusting the trigger weight with stock components. I ordered this kit and first installed the hunting spring. The trigger broke at about 6.0 to 6.5 lbs with the hunting spring installed. I then installed the bench rest spring and the trigger broke at 2.5 lbs. That's what I am going with. I recommend this product to anyone wanting to improve their trigger pull. I also recommend you purchase PTFE grease too. Watch the YouTube video demonstrating installation of TC Compass trigger before purchasing.
I installed this spring kit on my Thompson Compass 300 WinMag. The stock setup was coming in at 5lbs 11oz with no more room for adjustment to lower the pull. After install of the 2.5lb main spring, she now boasts a 2lbs 15oz pull. Mission accomplished and its nice to know I can lower it still by swapping the 1.5lb spring. The installation video is excellent and spot on and please, do add the PTFE grease on the sear and trigger, it helps A LOT and truly smooths out the trigger !!! Very pleased with this mod and worth every penny. And a special note, the secondary spring is bloody small, be careful when first opening your package, I lost mine on the bench and was very lucky to find it.
As always, Chris and company think up a great product, produce it, make a great instructional video and ship it. The spring kit was received very quickly and installed in short order. I used the bench rest spring and the difference is amazing. Highly recommended!
For $20 you get a custom trigger job
Replaced the issue springs in my TC Compass as they were way too heavy even when adjusted. The new springs are wonderful! I found the "Hunting" spring a little on the heavy side, but the "Bench Rest" spring is perfect! Should I want to make it a little heavier, I can always reinstall the issue nuts, but see no reason to. I highly recommend this!
The kit came just like it should’ve. Had all the parts. It lighten the trigger pull some. The same kits I’ve gotten for savage axis rifles worked better. The t/c compass kit didn’t . It maybe the stupid counterweight they put on the trigger at T/c I don’t know for sure
Easy to install and reduced trigger to 1.5 lbs
