Review
Good install video, improved trigger pull significantly.
Have a cheap trigger pull gauge. This was for a Ruger American Rimfire, same as the standard Ruger american. Factory was at just a hare below 3.5lb when adjusted down. Installed the new spring as instructed in the video, just a hare below 2.5 for a total pull reduction of 1lb. Also got to clean the trigger sear engagement which was rather dirty. Trigger feels great. Over all I would highly recommend this spring.
Bought this spring for a Ruger American Rimfire .22LR. I had already watched the video which shows a Ruger American Rifle but the rimfire is almost identical. I was able to remove the Ruger spring and install the MCARBO spring in just a few minutes. I checked the trigger pull prior to installation with a Lyman digital gage. Was 2# 14oz. Pretty good. After installation The pull weight was reduced a full pound! 1# 13.8oz! Well worth it! Thanks MCARBO!!!
Installed into my Ruger American Predator. The OEM spring was so stiff I could not get the trigger pull to less than 3 7/8 lbs with the adjusting screw all the way out. The new MCARBO spring installed easily and my trigger pull now is a consistent 3 lbs. with the adjusting screw in so far that only one thread is barely showing. I did not try lighter settings as 3 lbs works for me.
Trigger pull is noticeably lighter but being a factory trigger it still has some creep. MCarbo was a pleasure doing business with. Great prices, fast shipping, and follow up communication to ensure customer satisfaction. Many companies could learn a lot about customer service from MCarbo.
It was easy to install and reduced my trigger pull to around 2 lbs from 3 lbs which was the minimum I could adjust the standard Ruger trigger to. I recommend this spring.
Brought my trigger pull down from 5lbs to a little less than 3lbs.
Works as advertised. Easy to install. Well worth the money!
Great spring. Like the smaller size for installation. My only recommendation is to also offer trigger shims (or a link to them). Of the three I've done, two really needed shims to remove side play. I went the full way and totally disassembled and deburred/polished all critical parts/surfaces (even the trigger shoe). Comes close to a Timney at 1/10 th the cost along with the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
This mod from M-CARBO is worth every penny. Many, many more pennies than it actually cost. Its easy, inexpensive, well thought-out, and shows up with crazy fast shipping to boot. This little spring has done so much for my shooting precision with my Ruger American in .22-250. Groups that couldn't be covered with a rubber check before can now get covered by a dime. Pull the trigger on this purchase and you'll be back here giving it five stars just like I am.
I bought this for my Ruger American compact and had no idea that it would make such a difference. The trigger now feels like those on my rifles that cost 2 and 3 times the price. If you're on the fence... Just do it.
The installation was easy and the directions clear. Lowered my trigger pull about a half a pound. I was hoping for a bit more but for 12 bucks and 5 minutes of work not bad at all.
All I can say is WOW. This spring makes a world of difference. It made the already pretty good Ruger Marksman trigger every bit as good as the Timney triggers I have in some of my other rifles. Watch the video from M*CARBO and it is child's play to install. Absolutely the best $12 you can spend to improve your Ruger American Rifle
Always wanted to try a Ruger American and had the opportunity to get my hands on a G0-Wild in .308. Checked the trigger pull when I got it home and it was right at 4.5lbs, I adjusted the pull following the Ruger directions and it would not adjust below 3.5lbs. After receiving your spring, I am pleased to say I now have a crisp 2.2lb tack driver! Thanks!!!
Easy install. Took about 8 minutes to do both of my Ruger rifles. Huge difference the spring makes. The trigger is so much better now. Thanks mcarbo!
This hardly needs another review at this point but here goes. The sping make a noticeable difference and well worth the few bucks to get it done. These guys put out a video that makes it easy. If you have a Ruger American PRED - make sure you use the tool Ruger includes for removing the mag release to access your action screw. If you're experienced it's pretty easy to drift out the pin but if not be cautious (page 22/23 in your Ruger manual). Customer service here is also 5/5 stars. These guys are great! Enjoy your trigger upgrade.
