Found the item to be very well made and easy to install. Following the instructional video it was the key.
Added this last night on my .40 cal sub 2000. Installed it with the help of the always enthusiastic Chris Nelsons' video. Went on smooth and added the Rockset to insure proper curing. Have not fired it yet but it definitely adds the cool factor to my sub 2000.
This is one seriously nice piece of kit for the price. I really like the fact that they included the necessary tool for installing the gym not, which of course is absolutly necessary considering how thin the wrench has to be. Great fit and finish. The installation video is now an official drinking game; every time you hear the word “phenomenal“, take a shot.
I got this muzzle break for the looks....and it looks great! As for performance on the .40 cal, when paired with the MCarbo recoil buffer it increases follow ups accuracy.

why no 40SW muzzle Brake
Great appearance and top of the line machining. Performs exactly as described. I used painters tape instead of masking tape...it came off in one piece.👍
The muzzle break works. The quality of the piece was spot on. It does help with recoil. The only downside is the installation. Watching the video, the guy said you can do one full rotation from it being snug hand tight. Well, that's what happened with me. I tried using a bench with the locking jaws, and it messed up the finish on my firearm, wasn't able to completely put it on all the way (I had to work the washer, keep tightening it and loosing it.) When I was finally able to get close to straightening out the muzzle device, my front sight went crooked... it was a task and a half to get it somewhat close back to zero but will never be the same. It does the job, but installing it, was a pain, and those locking jaws are a joke.
The product is well made and Chris's installation video is great. The brake went on just as described. HOWEVER, I did have problem with the factory front sight moving. I checked to make sure the sight was tight before I started, as recommended in the video. But when I got to tightening the muzzle brake to time it into the correct position, the friction between the crush washer and the jam nut for the front sight was so great that as I turned the wrench on the brake, the jam nut on the sight and the sight started to move. I guess the front sight wasn't as tight as I thought. Easy fix, thought. I loosened everything, got the front sight squared up, tightened the jam nut and then left a backup wrench on the jam nut to keep it from moving while tightening and timing the muzzle break. The front sight still moved a little bit but I tapped it back into position with a rubber mallet. Now everything is tight and lined up. Easy, peasy. Also, the aluminum vise jaws worked as advertised. I had to tighten the crap out of my vise but the aluminum jaws held the barrel without a hint of movement. No scratches anywhere during the process.
Well made product, very easy to install, would recommend this product. Well do an update after I give it a try.
This muzzle brake is awesome. Reduced felt recoil adds a great look. Liked it so much im gonna order another one for my other sub 2000

When I opened the first of the 4 9MM Muzzle Breaks I ordered, I was really impressed with the quality of the machining and overall appearance. After installing the first one (which only took a few minutes) I grabbed my bin full of various MBs waiting for future projects - just to compare the quality and appearance of the M*Carbo break to other good quality devices. I gotta say, the machining and finish are first rate - as good or better than any I've seen! I'll be ordering more for upcoming AR9 builds. Great job guys - keep the excellent parts coming!

Thanks for sending the jam nut replacement for order number. It worked fine. I upgraded my Gen II with all the MCARBO solutions and now, it's a brand new gun. Can't wait for the folding optics mount to come out. Thanks again for making such quality products.
I was nervous about placing this muzzle brake on my sub 2000 gen 2 rifle. But MCarbo is here to make sure you have all the right amount of knowledge. The barrel jaws is a MUST. Without it, I would have surely destroyed my gun in the process. Also, if you are not that handy, MCarbo does have an option to mail your rifle and let someone else work on it. I think having options is what makes this company great. As for the installment, I will admit that I may not have had the best tools for the job. But even then, I made it work. I used a 3.25" clamp-on vise. If you go with this option, just know that the rifle will slip or roll. Not by a lot, but if you are not paying attention you may mess up the front sights. Luckily I did not have to do much torquing to get the muzzle in the right position. Once in position, I inspected the rifle and took it to the range. I shot a little over 300 rounds and immediately could tell the difference. The recoil is less and it is just as accurate as it ever was. Overall, I think MCarbo provided a lot of information and made this job a success.
