Review
I just finished installation of the trigger spring/shim kit in my Ruger 77/357. It went very well. Trigger pull was reduced by about 40% and the shim took out the sloppiness in the bolt. I’m very pleased. Easy to do and highly recommend.
Fantastic product and service. It took me longer to clean my gun afterwards than to change the spring. Video couldn't have been simpler to follow. Looking forward to getting back out to try it out prior to whitetail season here in NC
The factory trigger pull was so bad on my 77/357. After putting in the new spring, it's still a bit more than I like but much lighter, and very predictable.
I am no gunsmith but by watching the how to video---I was able to install both the trigger spring and shim in about 15 minutes. I have no test equipment but by feel --I can tell a big difference in the trigger. With the shim the bolt works more solid. Great product and service.
Easy ordering, fast delivery, perfect fit. Video on website made installation a breeze. Very pleased.
Product arrived promptly and worked as advertised.
I've always liked the old Ruger M77 Rifles, except for the heavy triggers; now someone has FINALLY come up with a simple way to make the trigger pull reasonable, while still being safe. Easy to do, and makes the old gun shoot like new!
After reviewing the installation video, the installation process was quick, easy, and satisfactory. The trigger functioned better than some of the "custom" triggers I have on other rifles. I have already and will continue to recommend Mcarbo to my friends.
Trigger/sear spring worked pretty good in my Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle. Installation was easy, installation video was outstanding. Pull wt. dropped from 3.75 to 2.0#, but I still need to do something about reducing the takeup. The shims aren't for the RGSR bolt, so it the cost of the kit makes for a pricy spring.
Ordered two for my Ruger rifles, 270 and 30-06 calibers. Dropped both trigger pulls about 1 to 1-1/2 lbs and they both feel great. Definitely a must have upgrade. I have ordered other springs from MCarbo, the products are always well made and shipping is fast.
I installed this kit on an M77 mk2 that averaged 5 lb trigger pull. The install video was very detailed and step by step. After watching the video the install only took about 10 minutes. The result is a trigger pull that averages 3.5 lbs. Perfect for a hunting rifle and a fraction of the other aftermarket options available to improve these triggers.
This is my first attempt at “gunsmithing”. Very easy, as shown in video. Ruger Hawkeye FTW 6.5 Creedmoor. Went from 3.4 lbs to 2 lbs. Very satisfied.
Reduced my trigger pull from stock 5 lbs to 4 lbs on my M77 Mk II. Shims are not usable for the bolt on this model, didn't have any play anyway.
This product is a perfect fit and reduces the trigger pull as indicated.
I installed this in a customer's Ruger 77/357 rifle. Very easy install. It dropped the trigger pull from 6lb 5oz to 3lbs 15oz. That is a great improvement, especially for the cost. Thanks M Carbo
Ordered on Thursday for my Ruger 77-17wsm, received on Monday. Watched the video a couple times before installing. Easily done exactly as video described. I have never worked on a firearm before so shimming the bolt was new to me. It is a trial and error method to get the correct amount of shims for the bolt to lock up properly, not described in detail in the video. Kinda had to read between the lines for that part. You have to keep adding shims .001 at at a time, reassemble the bolt, install in rifle and check fit, remove it, disassemble and add another shim till the bolt is tight, then disassemble again and remove the last shim, apply lube and put it back together for the last time.
