Review
Bought the kit for the spring. Gauged the shims and are true to .0010 and .0020 as advertised. The spring is less than half of the original spring (around 1.5lbs). Super impressed with the quality and fast shipping
I was pulling 4 pounds 12 ounces with the factory trigger. After the installation of the M*CARBO spring, my trigger weight dropped to 2 pounds 8 ounces. Very happy with how much nicer the trigger is now! As far as installation goes, its super easy, follow the instructions in the YouTube video and it's super simple. Took me a grand total of 5 minutes to replace the spring. I'm also very impressed with M*CARBO as a company, they have been super nice and great to deal with!
For years I have been wanting to lighten up the trigger on my 7mm Rem Mag. I received this kit yesterday and it was a 10 minute job to install. The factory trigger was around 7 pounds, now it's about 3 pounds. Thanks
The spring looks to be very high quality and was super easy to install. The installation video online was very helpful. The new spring took the pull from 5 lbs. 3 oz. down to 3 lbs. 12 oz as measured with a high quality Wheeler Professional Digital Trigger Gauge. The spring did not cut the pull in half as advertised, but it did make the pull much better, which is what I was after.
Trigger pull was off the scale on my RCBS gauge, smoothed it and brought it down to 5.5 lbs. Made a difference, just wish Ruger didn't have such long heavy triggers. Reccomend this kit before buying and after market trigger. Great customer service and turn around time.
Kit installed easily the video was super helpful. I'm very happy with the difference in the trigger.
Installation was easy, but the lighter spring made a minor difference in trigger pull ( less than 1 lb.). I spent the better part of the day filing and polishing the trigger post and sear, and eventually got the pull weight down to the 3 lb. range.
I installed the sear spring in my trigger group and it dropped my trigger pull weight from 6lbs 6 oz down to 4 lbs 5 oz. it was reduced by 2 lbs making the trigger much lighter than it was which was a great improvement! Was hoping for an overall trigger pull weight of 3 lbs give or take. It does break much smoother now and I’m glad I did it. Installed both .002 shims in my bolt body/head and it definitely took a ton of play out of the bolt assembly. Now With the bolt closed I lost the rotational slop locked on an empty chamber. For a small investment of 19.95 and a super easy install it was definitely worth the endeavor. A Happy customer supporting an American Veteran company!!! Thanks MCarbo. Mike P
Great company to buy from very quick to ship. I will be using them again for sure.
Second trigger kit as it was with the fiirst kit on my 270wsm modle 70 reduces nearly in half love it on the Ruger as well
I bought the kit for my m77 22,17,and 22hornet. The first one was easy to install with video help. Then I installed the other two in about 20 minutes. Makes a world of difference in accuracy. Did realize how much I hated the factory trigger. Told all my friends about it. Thanks Dave
1st and foremost service is amazing!! On to the review. Video and instructions were flawless. Completed the change out and polish work in just over an hour, not a professional gunsmith here. The manufacturer trigger pull of over 12lb is gone. I can tell you it’s reduced to 5lbs or less, super smooth and was able to keep a tight group with 38 CCI and 357 FIOCCHI. This is my 3rd trigger upgrade from MCARBO and they have my utmost respect on their products and customer service! Great work Hoooyaaaaa!
Very easy to install. Trigger is at 3LBS.Was hoping it would have been a little lighter, but not to bad! Thanks, will use your company as much as I can.
installed the new trigger spring today, reduced the pull from 5lb to 3.25lb. great instructions thanks for a great product.
Excellent, installation on both was very simple. The trigger improvement was substantial, especially for the 77/44. Group improvement was good on both rifles. I would highly recommend you install this inexpensive yet effective solution to some Ruger 77/ series rifle accuracy problems. Am now looking at S & W and Ruger pistol upgrades.
The trigger was pretty heavy on my Ruger 77/357 and the bolt was definitely sloppy when locked up. However, this rifle still shot well from the bench, but off hand, ehhh, not so much due to the heavy trigger pull. I installed this kit in under 20 minutes start to finish. used a .002 spacer on the bolt to take up the slop when locked up. I definitely lightened the trigger pull. Trigger is not "spongy" which was my only concern with putting in a lighter spring. Now it shoots really well from the bench and my offhand groups have tightened up if I do my part. It proved to be a simple and effective way to make a very good rifle even better.
