Review
This is an affordable bench block that's sturdy enough to handle general pistol disassembly no problem. This is something the market's needed for ages.
This really helped, like having a third hand in the disassembly / reassembly process. A must have if you do any work yourself. Even just removing the assembly pin, this comes in so handy.
Not what I expected, looked cheap. But works well and stronger; no; denser than it appeared. Thumbs up from me.
Price is good and it works
It worked well in every way, no complaints, but it would be nice to have one side double the length. Still works.
Useful in many ways.
I find this block extremely useful. While it feels solid, it is actually is forgiving, like when you think you are driving a pin out in the center hole, but you are really over the plastic, the pin will just make a hole in the plastic (kinda like Styrofoam). I highly recommend
Glad I got it, nice thing to have at the work bench when you need it.
For $7.00 can’t go wrong. Very helpful, nifty little device. Looks to be 3-D printed so I’d say that adds to the niftiness. The edges are sharp. I slipped off a spring and hit my knuckle on it the edge. Took off a nice chunk of shin. Nothing a few minutes with some sandpaper can’t fix.
Ignore my 1-star review. I neglected to click a star rating before clicking submit and it defaulted to 1-star. For $7.00 can’t go wrong. Very helpful, nifty little device. Read the info before you buy, My Mistake is I DID NOT ! It may have a purpose and may work, but for the price I'll make one out of a nice piece 2x4 and some time, saving 8 bucks, next time I need or want one. It is hard plastic, feels hollow, with a very poor finish and quality. It will scratch wood finish and possibly bluing. I would have preferred a hard rubber not hard printed plastic.
Great part very quality.
I was having a awful time finding something to pound out the firing pin retaining pin on my SKS bolt. Wood wasn’t unyielding enough. It moved around too much and just compressed with every hit. I had to use a large steel socket from my socket wrench set. It worked but I didn’t like pounding steel on steel. Thought I was going to damage the bolt. Saw this, ordered it, answer to my prayers. Works like a charm!
I will admit that I just received the bench block so I obviously cannot say anything about its long term durability yet. That said, it was amazing to me how light it was and from my initial testing, how durable it appears to be. It also has lots of great options and features. In my opinion, this is a steal at less than $10.
Serves the purpose. A bit small for my taste and wish it had a bit of anti-skid on the bottom. I added some rubberized drawer liner material to the bottom which prevented it from sliding. Didn't seem to affect pin removal etc.
I saw this block and wanted it before reading any reviews. Do I have other blocks at home? Sure. But what I have found is that they all serve a purpose and for the price, I should have ordered a few more and given them away as gifts. Probably will do that with next order. Price is right for this block. Glad to see that they are not trying to gouge us. Will be doing some sight work on my 5.7 installing a RMR plate and this block will get used.
