The vise block is solid with good finish, but I ran into a tolerance issue between it and front of my KSG. Tying to spread opening at the top was unsuccessful. It took about a half hour with a file to get it to fit over the end cap of the barrel. Recommend someone communicate with Kel-Tec to find out what they are accepting tolerance wise on their dimensions. Other than that worked perfect for removing the barrel nut. Would recommend even if you have to do a little altering to get it to work.
I am not sure how anyone else out there could do any mods on their KSG without this vise block, unless they are taking chances on damaging a fairly expensive piece of American made hardware in a hurry. Bought it, used it twice so far, and have not had a regret one since purchasing this block. Thank you M*Carbo!
Well made and sturdy. I had an issue with it being too tight to fit easily over the barrel and sling support. Customer service explained it to be most likely a tolerance issue with Kel Tec on the gun itself as they have five KSG's with no problems. I tend to agree after some of the issues I have had with other pars of the KSG. If you experience this problem I suggest lightly lubricating the unit and using a rubber hammer to gently push it on. If that doesn't work, spread the top of the vise grip a little and it should pop right in. I used a chisel just slight larger than the opening and only pushed it in about 1/16-1/8 of an inch. At that depth it should work but will not scratch the top of the gun barell. I do recommend this item.
Perfect for holding down the tubes and barrel when working with muzzle break. Save me the headaches of holding it by hand. Solid construction.
Another item that likely will only be used once or twice if you change anything in the mag tubes. Price again seems excessive but your likely to damage your firearm without it.
Exact fit and does exactly what it's meant to do. Wanted to have just in case this second hand KSG goes tango uniform on me. Thx MCARBO for filling the aftermarket KSG parts void.
Doesn't fit. Though I tried like others and only succeeded in scratching my beautiful new gun up. Regretful.
Great product flawless
Fits like a glove. Heavy steel. If you're like me, you want to be prepared to service your firearm. Useful tool.
The KSG vise block did not fit. I had to take a file to it and in the process of trying to make it fit it made marks on both sides on the sling brackets. I finally got it to fit.... sorta.... but I didn't think I would have to do that. NOT pleased!!!
Works beautifully. Highly recommend when upgrading parts
Don't even think about trying to get that damn barrel nut off without this! This definitely saved the day! Worth the money even if only used once. Trust me!!!
This was awesome! Way easier than I anticipated. I saw some with vids of impact wrenches etc. I just used a ratchet and soft mallet hammer. The vice I used was a $20 vice from HD. It took all but 30 secs. I put grease on the sling loops so I could slide it on and not scratch it.
This piece infuriated me. I chose to wait to upgrade my KSG until this piece came in. Because I heard it made things easier and safer. It did hold my gun in the block, but it's such a tight fit, and metal, that it scratched my gun in 4 places. It would have been safer for my gun if I had used cardboard and a towel in the vise grips. Now I've waited weeks, just to have a scratched up gun. I enjoy most of MCarbo's accessories, but this and the magplug wrench only damaged my gun, when the things I ordered were to prevent damage.
Ordered this product on Sunday and found another part I liked and sent an email to see if could be added to order. Early Monday I get phone call and it was taken care of. I love dealing with business of former military. They get things done. Great price, service and fast delivery of order. They have some cool KSG accessories that I plan on ordering as well Great job fellas
A must have to perform any major work on the muzzle of a KSG. Fit perfectly and held gun in the inverted position so barrel nut could be remove and a muzzle device installed. It is designed so the top rail does not require removal.
