I was going to sell this gun before I added this shell deflector. As a left handed rifle shooter my cheek wad blasted every time I shot this gun. Now I really enjoy shooting it. I also added the weighted charging handle and recoil buffer and it’s a much better gun now.

Must have for lefties

If you shoot the S2K left handed, you simply must have this. No more gas and unburnt powder to the face. It does detract from the looks of the gun a little, but no gas to the face makes up for it for sure.

The good thing about installation is that if you don't like the way it looks, heat it up again and start over.

Excellent product. It shipped fast, and was easy to install.

Thanks MCARBO.

So I bought my Sub2k in Oct, took it out and shot 500 rds, and HATED the carbine. Im a lefty, and the rifle blew shells and gas all over my face. Sat the carbine in the safe and moved on. Then this came out! WOW! Install was simple. Skipped the over and went with a torch to lightly heat the kydex. Mounts easy and folds just perfect. My recommendation would be to start the screws in the kydex prior to heating. Took ~20 mins total. Took the Sub2k to the range and WOW! What a difference this has made. Shells and gas are kept out of my face, which makes follow up shots cake. Even my wife had a good time with the Sub2k! Keep it up MCARBO, Ill be back for sure!!!

Must have, easy install.

Without this deflector, the Sub 2000 kicks the empties into another dimension, never to be found. After installing it, they were all right at my feet. Given the price and scarcity of reloadable brass today, this little piece of Kydex payed for itself in one trip to the range. Easy install with a heat gun, attach the non ejection port side, then apply heat to soften, attach the ejection port side, more heat and mold to the receiver. Done in 5 minutes.

nice addition

Went on easily as the directions said. Less dust on my eyewear and now my "lefty" son can shoot without eye pain!

Nice Product for Lefties, But Beware.

I am left handed and some guns are bad about giving me a face full one every shot. Before I ever shot my new Sub 2000, I ordered this deflector. Works really well to deflect from my face. However, it does throw the hot brass directly down onto my right forearm. While much better than into my face, after about 10 rounds, I had red marks on my arm.

While I would recommend this product, it could stand some improvement.

Installation was quick and easy. Remove the screws to get ready. Heat the deflector to make flexible, and attach with provided screws. Work quickly, as it cools very fast. Seems very durable.

Easy install and works excellent. Brass now deflects to my right and down about 15 inches. No more chasing my brass 20 feet away.

No more shells in my face and NO MORE SUCKING GAS!

The first few times I took my Sub2k out, as one of the 9.2% of the population that shoots with our left hand, I did not like getting pelted in the face by shells. I read other recommendations, and they suggested turning the rifle down, at an angle. I didn't like that suggestion, nor did I feel that I should have to turn anything down because of a natural flaw of the rifle. MCARBO to the rescue! Shells now drop down, but the biggest improvement is that I am not sucking in all the gas that comes from having my face so close to the ejection port. The video instructions were very helpful (it helps to have a heat gun laying around the house, too!!) It's amazing how a simple piece of plastic can turn a something, that was a P-O-S to me, into a fun and very useful tool. The one draw back is that if you are carrying this in your pack, it does stick out an extra inch on the right side. However, it still fits in my carry pack with no problems and I feel even more confident shooting it - knowing that when in a extra adrenalin situation occurs, I won't be inhaling all of that gas blow back now! Great design and great job of thinking about what us lefties have to deal with!

Not compatible with sight mount for lefties.

I agree with all the great reviews for this. Just want to add that with the MCARBO sight mount for lefties (mounts on right side of gun) you won't be able to fold your rifle.

This past Thursday, I received the shell deflector for my sub 2000. Shipping was very good from MCARBO. The part came in a small plastic envelope. Not a box ten times the size of the part. The directions were clear. I also watched the install video. It took me three tries, but I finally got it installed. The deflector cools rather quickly. Shaping was the big issue. You have to get right at it for the shape and fit. Didn't help that I have arthritic hands. Also it helps to have a slim metal rod which is used to line up the screw holes during shaping. Overall for the price, it was well worth it. Have not shot the gun yet. Cant wait to see how it performs. Considering I'm a lefty, I was getting gas and shell blowback on my face.

This was the first aftermarket thing I got for my sub2k. After three rounds with the heat gun the hulls are not hitting my forearm. Absolutely awesome mod. For me better than the trigger group & 2 finger charging handle - they are great but don't help my forearm a bit.

After shooting my Sub-2000 for the first time, my heart sank from disappointment. I shoot left handed and would get blowback/hot gas from the ejection port on every round fired right in my face. M-Carbo saved me from selling my Sub-2000, which I almost did right there on the range! Cooler heads prevailed and I did some research. The first fix that came up was M-Carbo! Ordered the shell deflector on the spot. Not only does the thing work perfectly for me, it looks fine on the gun and is easy to install. Best part is the price! Thank you M-Carbo....10 stars

I heated mine to temp and time stated on instructions and it shrunk so much that it would not even reach over to both screw holes rendering it useless. Money wasted on this one as it is trash now. I Hate to buy another, but maybe if heated to half temp and time it would work I don’t know. Was really looking forward to it since I am a lefty and blowback is awful from the sub2000 for a lefty.

I am a lefty, so I purchased the shell deflector. I also purchased a heat gun and slowly heated the deflector up at the locations where it needed to bend. As it became pliable, I lined up the bolt holes and inserted them. I then reheated the deflector to mold it to the correct shape, and it turned out perfectly. I highly recommend using a heat gun so you can control the heating process and avoid burning the deflector.

I'm not left handed but my son sometimes shoots left handed and just thought it would be a nice upgrade in general to have.
