Installed the parts Thursday fired today and the trigger is down to just under 4lbs!!
Parts were all there. Quality stuff although a little pricey. Could have done without the armorers tool. C clip was easier with a clip tool which most mechanics own anyway. My body collar came off by hand. Everything went together according to video. Video was very helpful. Alum trigger guard and mag release operate much cleaner than the OEM parts. Took about an hour to switch over everything and glad I did as two of my alum posts were already stripped. KelTec aught to make the hardened posts mandatory in the guns manufacture. On another note - This is the first time I have pulled my bolt and spring since installing the two finger charging handle. I found it much easier to orient the steel locking pin in the charging handle with a 8 in by .25 wood dowel and a little Bostick gum on the end. The gum stays on the dowel but gives a little grip on the locking pin. I have the rubber on my charging handle. My wife can pull and fire the weapon.
My parts had to sit on the bench for a while :-( But when I finally had the chance, all I did was que up the VERY INFORMATIVE M-Carbo Video and it was ON! The pace was a bit quick for a 'First Timer' tear down, but I will have to give you prop's, it went flawlessly :+)
I choose the bundle kit, because of the mcarbo videos. My trigger pull went from 8.4 lbs down to 4.10 to 5 lbs. Awesome products, wife loves shooting it. Keeps asking what else they got.lol . Product came quickly , ordered one. A Sat. Received on a Wednesday morning. Great crew to work with. Looking foward to future business.
I purchased the Sub 2000 bundle kit which was easy to install and provides excellent enhancements to the weapon. I tested the weapon and it shoots great!! I'd also like to thank MCARBO for it's excellent customer service!
The best thing about this kit is definitely the trigger, dropped from 9 pounds to a 4.5 lbs - smooth pull, crisp break (I went with the curved trigger shoe). Note: this trigger still has a fairly long reset, but no worse than the factory. 2nd best thing is the aluminum trigger guard / folding mechanism - a very solid upgrade from the flimsy plastic factory one. The part of this kit that I was not overly happy with was the carbon steel pins and screws. The thread engagement made it difficult to tighten down (thought I may have cross-threaded, but that wasn't the case). Also, getting the screws loosened again (to put the new stainless steel feed ramp in) was a major PITA! Went back to the factory pins and screws for that reason, plus after only a couple weeks under the seat of my truck rust had formed on all the screw heads (keep them well oiled if you plan on making this your truck gun). All the parts and tools that come with this kit are very well thought out and high quality. This coupled with the installation video made the good as easy as possible for an all-thumbs guy like me. Wooden dowel, allen keys and gun grease are things most gun guys will have on hand, but the armorer's wrench and Locktite 380 "Black Max" are must haves for this gun.
This kit has improved my trigger pull greatly. My ORIGINAL trigger had a ton of slack, was a 9lbs pull, and the break was awful. The NEW Mcarbo trigger reduced the slack by 2/3 the distance, dropped the trigger pull down to 5.2lbs and now the break is nice an crisp. Also the instructions/instructional video for the install was extremely helpful. The company even contacted me via email, and Instagram and asked me how my install was going. That's what caring and professional customer service should be. Other companies in the industry should emulate their customer support/service. The trigger guard/takedown guard is super nice and locks and unlocks the barrel with out any flex like the original one. Also super easy to install. If you are planning to purchase this kit, keep in mind that the new trigger might have a slow reset. If it does M*carbo has made a video to help fix this. Be sure to watch, so you know what to do if this happens to you. Side note it's an easy fix won't take but a few minutes of your time. Looking forward to purchasing future products from M*Carbo!
Bought this bundle for my Gen II. Very easy to install while watching the video. Watch that video first or you'll end up having the wife help you find small parts. Lesson Learned. Trigger pull is as different as night and day. Was so pleased I ordered another kit to install in my brothers Gen II. Way to go guys. Bobby helped hook me up with my Military Discount too. Schweeet........
I have been looking into upgrading my rifles using MCARBO parts. So glad that I finally decided to do it. The instructional video is very clear,..although I did it in much slower pace than the video (I'm afraid to make mistake). The trigger feel much better & lighter. The metal trigger guard makes the folding mechanism is much more crisp than the original plastic part. Next, looking forward to the metal ramp & metal rear sight! BTW, I bought trigger enhancement parts for Marlin M60 as well...
After installing bungle kit I realize the tools etc would make life bit nicer. It can be done without the tools but would have been nicer using them. Thay should just add the mag release and save everyone the heart ache. Do yourself a favor buy this right out of the gate. You will not be disapointed. Fine products.
Excellent kit. Has everything you need to upgrade the internals on your sub 2000. The trigger pull weight, and overall feeling of crisp smooth precision, are vastly improved over factory. Plain and simple, if you have a sub 2000, you need this kit.
Installed with the video, went smooth other than after completed trigger wouldn't return forward. Obviously not using my head properly...... Center screws on the body I had tightened too much. Backed them off a hair and smooth as butter! Love the feel now.

For me, the Sub2K was never pleasant to shoot, gen1 or gen2. Being a lefty, well that made it even worse. Still, it had and still has a place in my kit. This kit has really taken the Sub2k to a new level. I might have been happy with just he trigger guard and trigger, but why not replace just about everything the first time you do it. Installation took a couple of hours of me being a bit meticulous and had a few distractions. I can't think of a thing I'd change.
