Great improvement over the plastic trigger. Original trigger felt like a sponge with the flex in the plastic trigger. Install was easy although one of the screws gave me a little trouble tried in 2 different studs.
I put the spring kit, and flat trigger in my Gen 1 9mm G17 Sub 200. Took about and hour and a half, and that included watching the videos (excellent btw). Everything was straight forward and went in without a problem. My particular trigger has to have about 2 thousands taken off the bottom with a small file (it was rubbing the M*Carbo trigger guard I installed at the same time).
I HAVE BOUGHT EVERY UPDATE MCARBO HAS FOR MY GEN-2, EXCEPT FOR THE MUZZLE BRAKE, NOT AVAILABLE YET. I FIND ALL THE PARTS ARE WELL MADE AND FINSHED VERY NICE..THE ONLY PROBLEM, I HAVE NOT INSTALLED YET AS I DON'T HAVE A GUN....IT'S AT KEL-TEC RE: THE RECALL....2 MONTHS...CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT TOGETHER....MCARBO, GREAT PRODUCTS AND SERVICE....MORE TO COME WHENEVER I GET MY GUN BACK...
First, great customer service from MCARBO. The order was delayed (trigger on backorder) and they were great keeping me notified along the way. Watched all of their installation videos multiple times before ordering and essentially used their printed step by step PDF for the installation. Only pulled up the video to confirm sear spring installation. I lightly sanded the right grip polymer as suggested in their troubleshooting video and did not see any trigger binding. Two small snags during the process: 1. The sear spring wouldn't seat fully on its post--I used synthetic oil on pivot points during the install and it kept slipping upward under tension. Because of this, the polymer grips didn't "snap" together as noted on the videos. After three attempts I realized that I just needed tighten up the Allen screws to get everything seated correctly. 2. I could not remove one of the stock Allen screws--the left side one that held the pin for the trigger guard--it just spun. My solution, after getting all back together, was to get a 2.5mm Allen bit and bit holder, put into an electric drill (make sure the drill is set to spin in reverse) and spin it out quickly. Worked perfectly! Overall, this is a big improvement. Quality of the Allen screws, trigger and trigger guard a big improvement over factory Kel Tec items. While the trigger pull seemed to take a bit less effort (I have no tool to measure the before/after), it felt WAY better. The stock trigger was horrible--it felt like it broke twice during the pull and the bottom of the stock trigger actually pressed against the stock trigger guard when fully pulled back, pushing the guard out. The MCARBO trigger and guard do not flex or touch at all when trigger is fully pressed, and are of high quality. Highly recommended!
Guys and Gals don't wait on this one. Pull the trigger and you'd be so glad you did. The performance is totally different than the stock S2K. Chris and Team really shows dedication to the highest level of quality and functionality. I'm getting ready to order another set for my second S2K.
I am not a gun smith, but I am adequate at following instructions on a youtube video. I did this with the trigger bundle and it came out great. Having never done something like this before, I was bit apprehensive when I tested it after the trigger job. Well, not only did it work, it worked beautifully. I didn't realize how different and better it feels to shoot when trigger pull pressure has been reduced by 50%. Also, the upgrade involves more than just the trigger mechanism: you get springs, screws, the aluminum trigger guard, and the stainless steel feed thingie that replaces the plastic one that comes with the Sub-2000. I also got the kydex piece that you mold above and behind the ejector port so that a southpaw like me doesn't get a face full of expended gun powder residue with every shot fired. I heartily recommend this kit.
Easy install, and a huge difference. Would buy again. Very satisfied.
Several goodies here that I recommend, including the butt stock pin dowel and the armor's wrench...you can certainly strip the gun without them, but by installing the contents of the kit, you change the insides of this gun and improve both function and durability. It completely eliminated the greasy, flimsy feel of the trigger and folding lever, and improved the trigger pull so much that even my spouse said she wanted to shoot it. Watched the video and had all parts in within 50 minutes. Beware that when you take the grips apart, springs and parts go flying EVERYWHERE, as mine did. Also another caution--the stupid detent plunger and spring on the safety--those freaking things eject like rockets--be very careful when installing and removing, or you'll be contacting Kel-Tec for replacements for sure. Also, some of the new screws to hold the body together were extremely tough to tighten (required a key on each side)--I don't know if this was the new pins or the screws themselves, but I stripped a 2.5 mm Allen key in the process. Otherwise great kit--little on the expensive side, and I feel that really only the trigger and associated hammer and trigger springs, as well as the folding lever/trigger guard are "must do" upgrades, but glad I bought everything to improve durability and function. This has my vote as one of the best upgrades I've ever done. Now the really obvious question...why doesn't Kel-Tec thread the collar nut, instead of relying on lock-tite?
So I bought my sub back in March. Didnt like that dinky charging handle that came with it so i did a search for one and...well lo and behold found you guys...just installed your complete trigger kit plus the trigger bar and feed ram using your tutorial video (and cursing a bit)finally finished installing after about 2 hours. Took her out the next day and cant stop talking about it...i trully enjoy this thing now. I even tried challenging it by bump firing it a few times and she just ran flawlessly! Thank you guys for being there!!! Im a true fan
Everything fit perfectly. Suggest watching the entire video first. That way you don't send the safety detent and spring flying across the room.
I have done many trigger jobs, so to speak, using Apex products and videos, so this type of project was not too intimidating. This was my first outside of that manufacturer and I was impressed. I watched the video prior to receiving the "all internal kit" from MCarbo. I appreciate the presenter in the video. I felt like he was sitting next to me with patience necessary for me as I paused often to get through the process. I have not been able to go the range yet as I just installed the kit today, but anxious to do so in the next couple of weeks. The results of the parts kit compared to OEM... feels like night and day. The OEM felt very "mushy" and "gritty". It was not smooth at all, but it was adequate for the money spent on this PCC. The MCarbo kit makes if feel like it has a defined wall prior to break. The break is quite light for me now, I will have to get used to that. Amazing the difference. I had never polished any internal parts before. I was very pleased with the instructions on how to do that to the pertinent parts. You cannot visually tell I have done anything to this PCC to improve the performance of the unit, I looks like a sleeper if you have never fired a Sub2000 stock. I thought the parts kit was a little pricey, but so were all the Apex kits I have purchased over the years. After installed, the kit feels like it is well worth making a mid $300 gun (after rebate) perform like a $700+ gun, for $250. As stated, I have not shot it yet after parts kit, but anxious to see what the difference is. I was happy with the grouping and how it shot with all the plastic pieces, I hope that it blows me away so to speak when I shoot it now!
Not only do the parts work great but the installation videos make it soo easy! The attention to detail and the prompt service can spoil one so quickly. in addition to the trigger job I ordered and received the feed guide and trigger guard. al real nice items. can't wait for the recoilless handle and Rear sight comes back in stock. My KelTec sub .40 and the kit showed up on the same day. I did the install that night and went to the range the next day. After a few shots at the 50 yrd i hit the 100yrd (using red dot)target with a group of 5 in 4 seconds measuring about 2.5 ". 'KEEP IT UP GUYS !!!

I installed the trigger kit along with the trigger bar and it made the trigger pull much crisper and a pound and a half lighter. The install isn't hard and I while I had the gun apart I gave it a good cleaning. I just came back from the range and the trigger pull is a lot better. Glad I purchased these products.
Although the online video was good, it could have been better. For one thing, it needs to be updated to include the metal feed ramp. The video needs to start with start with a segment on ramp polishing, or perhaps refer you to a separate video. How about polishing the trigger bar, sear, and hammer. When showing how to install parts, especially small parts, the camera needs to get the angle right and linger a bit to allow the viewer time to freeze the screen while he puts the part into his gun. I made it all work in the end and the trigger dropped 3.5 lbs.
Installed the all-in-one trigger package along with the recoiless charging handle. The installation was easy as I followed along with the video. One caveat I might mention...if your Sub is a multi-mag, you will have to remove the plate on the old mag release that tells what type of mags it takes or your sub won't lock the mags in the gun. That isn't mentioned anywhere in the video. Customer service, quality parts and fast shipping...what more could you want?
