The installation video was step by step with the exception of removing the safety c clip - the Armorer tool I was sent had a much wider opening than the one in the video. As a result it could not be used to remove the safety c clip as it was too wide. The tool needs to be adjusted so that it can be used on the Sub-2000. Outside of that outstanding upgrade.
Well designed kit for big improvement over factory parts. Packaging of parts and most important, the installation video was extremely accurate and helpfull to make the modifications easy on the first attempt !! Great products and customer support as always !!
Investment in trigger kit was WELL worth it. The difference in pull far exceeded my expectations. Well done MCARBO.
I just bought a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 Gen 2 and was looking for an upgraded trigger because my 7.5 lb pull was just not what I wanted. After doing some research I found that mcarbo was one of the top aftermarket companies for the S2K and after browsing through their store I ordered almost every upgrade and I'm glad I did. The trigger dropped down to exactly 5.25 lb. The bolt tube cover is a must and I figured why not throw in the recoil buffer, ss feed ramp and a new charging handle. This carbine was fun to shoot before but now it's one of my favorite firearms. It's amazing and awesome how a company like mcarbo can provide such quality products and service and stand behind it 100% for life. I wish there were more companies like this. Keep it up and I look forward to seeing more Innovative products.
I installed the upgrade by the mcarbo video.. Was easy to install and what a huge difference the upgrade made.. The parts are solid, strong and even make it look better.. And did I mention how crisp and clean the trigger pull is.. Couldn't ask for better quality.. I ordered the wrong part by mistake (multi mag instead of glock mag), made one call and Adam fixed me right up.. Guys the customer service is amazing and quality parts.. You don't really find many companies that offer an excellent product along with excellent customer service... You guys deserve 6 stars not 5! Thanks again mcarbo for the excellent job yall are doing!
I had been looking for a gen 2 sub2k for a couple of years. I picked one up recently on a trip out of state for 250.00. As you all know the trigger sucked and a quick search landed me here. Long story short I bought every replacement part there is here and my 250 sub turned into 600 sub. WORTH EVERY PENNY BROTHERS.
This is a great upgrade for the Sub 2000 (mine is a Gen 2). Installation was easy with the video. The flat trigger feels much better and breaks at a bit over 5 lbs. which is perfect for my needs. I travel a lot in my F150 and having my Sub dialed in to where I can make consistent shots on 6-8" steel out to 100 yds. is important, in the event that (God forbid), I may need to do so. I installed a Red Lion for-end and run a Primary Arms red dot with a see through riser that allows me to also use the irons. Great set up. I CC where it's lawful, but having a reliable, carbine that fits in a laptop bag, takes high cap Glock mags (32 or 33) and doesn't draw any attention from the general public (carrying it in and out of motel rooms for instance), is a big plus. MCarbo's upgrades are absolutely worth it. I'm expecting my SS feed ramp w/polishing kit soon, and that will finish out my Sub for its intended use. There is no other firearm on Planet Earth that can do what the Sub does. I don't mind investing some $$ to make this little gem better! A buddy of mine has one that he's run over 6K rounds through his Sub, with zero FTF, FTE malfunctions. The guys at MCarbo will absolutely return your e-mails if you have questions, BTW.
Best upgrade ever!!! Installation is a little complicated but that's not due to Mcarbo. In fact RESPECT!!! For the Mcarbo brotherhood to taking the time to make parts for this complicated firearm and making videos. This kit is a must!!! It makes a massive difference!!! I mean seriously like night and day. I wish I would've done this sooner. 10 outta 10 I would recommend this to anyone with a sub2k. If anyone is on the fence go ahead pull the trigger buy once cry once!! It's well worth the investment.
Like the other reviewers I made more than one order to get everything.For three or four nights I would watch a video and have to order something new that I just had to have for my Kel tec.All the parts are installed,the gun works great,The service from Mcarbo was great,as was the follow up.Now I just need the polished steel feed ramp.I hope it's comming soon
As a retired engineer I truly appreciate the quality of the materials the machining and the finish work of your components. They also function beautifully, delivering the promised performance and improvements over the stock items.
I bought all the components in this kits across several transactions, over a few weeks. Hands-down, this kit is the way to go. I regret not buying all the items at once. The two most important items are the metal trigger and the trigger spring. But you'll need the dowel (for real), you'll need the armorers wrench. But the trigger bar noticeably improves the action, the metal trigger guard feels way sturdier, and the improved pins/screws are recommended (two original screws on mine just spun and spun, and never got tighter. Long story short, buy the kit! It's 100% worth it.
Yesterday I installed the complete trigger group (flat trigger) along with the rear folding sight (peep), stainless feed ramp, QD sling mount and buffer washer. Although in retrospect it was an far easier install than I imagined, upon opening up the grip area, the pre-existing trigger group came out almost at once. I had a handful of what looked like miscellaneous parts. I was worried and had visions of sending a bag of old and to-be installed parts to Kel-Tec for install like a whale beaching itself on the service dept. But the upgrade install video was superb and it all came together well. I went to the range today and put a couple of boxes through it. Great trigger... about 4-4.5lb pull and very smooth with a very clean break. Not a hiccup. Everyone at the range was also impresed. Lights out accuracy at 25 yds. One special note - if you do the trigger kit, also do the stainless feed ramp. You'll see what I mean when you see the stock one. I'm going to see what it can do at 75 and 100 yds tomorrow. What can I say, incredible customer service, outstanding support. I order the kit. I started to install it and found out that 2/ pins, 2/screws and the trigger guard did not work properly. What that MCARBO did after I contacted them? 1- the answer the same day, ask me what was the problem. 2-they resend the pins and screws to me next day.( The forgot to send the trigger) I contacted them again. 3- they send it also next day. After all of this, they contacted again to make sure I have all I needed to improve my Sub 2000 and that it work perfectly. I am extremely satisfied and grateful to have purchased from MCARBO. I will recommend this company They are on top in customer service and they want to make sure that we have 100 % working firearms. Me, coming from a long military family I am proud of all the MCARBO Team and May GOD bless them all. Thanks. I will buy from them again. Thanks.
I will write a review on this product but want you to know that my experience has been the same with all MCARBO products. And with the exception of the rear sight which I replaced long before MCARBO came out with theirs I believe that the only upgrade that I don't have is the heavy weight charging handle (one day it will be in the budget). Customer service is fast and I get products immediately when I order them (two maybe three day). I have taken my Sub 2000 apart enough times to be pretty proficient at it - but the MCARBO videos are what put me on that path. I was not a Sub 2000 fan at the start but changing from Colt Commander to a Glock 19 for a carry gun was a big part of the decision to buy one (arthritis did catch up with me and while I still love the commander the Glock is easier on my hands and my wifes hands as well). We do a lot of road trips and wanted a compact pistol caliber carbine. The Sub 2000 was affordable but until I found MCARBO I really didn't like. It look and felt cheap - although it shot every kind of standard 9mm ammo that I put through it. With the upgrades it has become a fun gun to shoot. I recently had someone ask to look at it at the range. He said that he had looked at them in the past but they didn't look as nice as mine. I told him that was MCARBO not KelTec (not knocking KelTec but the MCARBO upgrades are worth the money). Great company.
Before I did the upgrades my trigger pull was 9 lb now it is 4.5 lb. The metal trigger and guard is a big improvement over the factory plastic. After the installation of these parts I have to say they are a must have for the sub 2000. Thanks for a great product and the install videos.
Lets face it, the OEM version of the Sub 2K , is a neat gun, the folding, out of the box accurate, and fun to shoot. But it has its little quirks, a heavy 8lb trigger, a magazine eject button that should be a little bit bigger, the trigger is eh.. Plus simply put, taking this thing apart other than a field strip is not fun. It is not something you want to do more than you need to. It is not hard, the videos put out by Mcarbo show you that, 10 screws, a castle nut to be removed (the wrench from Mcarbo does make it a lot easier) then putting it back together again.. That is is the fun part. Once you do it once, you hope not to do it again. With that being said, if you are going to upgrade your internals on the Sub-2k, do it all at once, get the one kit with everything.
