I purchased this kit along with the SS feed ramp and polishing kit. I watched the install videos a couple of times and set to work. The install was straightforward and fairly simple. It took me an hour to put it all together but that also includes time to really clean the interior of the firearm as I have never had it a part before. This was an easy install and I followed the video instructions and it went together beautifully. I installed the flat trigger in mine and just love it! I have always liked this platform but after the this install it is a new firearm! I could hardly believe the difference!! I HIGHLY recommend investing in this kit if you want to bring this to it's true potential!!
I'll start out by saying I'm adequate in the gun smith department.I have got "almost"? every accessory available from mcarbo. I installed them myself. Not near as easy as anticipated, but doable.INSTALL ALL ACCESSORIES AT ONE TIME. I did not get the magazine release the first time and there is no way I'm going to take the gun apart again if I don't have to.The gun and mcarbo are great.Gary
This took my sub 2000 from a rough 8 1/2 lb pull, almost maxed out my gauge, to a smooth 3 1/8 lb pull. It was not the easiest trigger job, but the videos were great. I don't know how they could have been done any better. I bought the kit without the hammer bushing and lifesaver and decided I wanted to add those. So I took it apart again. It just takes time to get everything all lined up and reinstalled. Not a plug and play, but well worth the time money and effort. The main disappointment I had with the sub 2000 was the trigger. This fixes that. Smooooooth. Perfect trigger pull.
It took me two tries to get everything installed correctly. Anyone with reasonable mechanical skills could do it right the first time with the help of Mcarbo's excellent installation video. but with my poor gun smithing skills I wouldn't have even tried it. My average trigger pull went from 7 lbs 6.5 ounces to 4 lbs 7 ounces. I installed the extended mag release at the same time. This kit is worth every penny.
I installed the following MCARBO items: - Pro trigger kit, curved trigger, notch rear sight, recoiless charging handle, orange bolt buffer, bolt tube cover, polished feedramp I installed everything at once, so never really fired the stock rifle. I am glad I bought the gun and did all the upgrades. The range session fired 237 rounds using Glock factory 17 and 33 round magazines with the following ammo: 167 freedom munitions 9mm 115gr FMJ 40 freedom munitions 9mm 147gr FMJ 30 aquila 9mm 124gr FMJ The gun did not like the 124gr aquila ammo, I had about (4) FTEs, and then it started choking after every second shot. The 115gr and 147gr ammo was flawless. I could care less about the aguila ammo since I usually buy 115gr and 147gr in 1000 round lots. I was more concerned about the subsonic ammo, because I will use it as a suppressor host. Overall, I am happy, and you guys make great products.
this is a critical upgrade. the mcarbo parts should be stock parts. the firearm is more solid and the trigger pull is where it should be now. videos made installing easy.
The installation of the kit was pretty straight forward with the only hang up being putting it all back together. Took some patience and a few choice words but it finally fell into line. The kit is what I hoped it would be. The parts are quality with excellent feel, form, and function. Trigger was was cut nearly in half but the smoothness made it great. Fun to shoot this again
These upgrades are simply fantastic and put the Sub 2k in a different class of carbine. Well worth the money and the instructional video is a must! This was my first ever attempt at really modifying a firearm and it went smoothly as I followed along with Chris's video. As always M*CARBO IS GREAT TO ORDER FROM AND SHIPPING IS FAST!!
If you are expecting a crisp (AR GISELLE) type break and reset. This isn't it. But if you want your horrible stock keltec trigger gone, and a lighter, smoother, crisper trigger, this is the ticket. I had WAAAY to high of expectations. But after that initial let down, and a range trip, it is worth every penny. Honestly I had more fun installing it than anything. You will not be disappointed!
This kit brings the SUB-2000 from a handy entry-level PCC to a premium level. All of the sponginess is removed from the trigger, the stainless feed ramp and anodized aluminum takedown latch / trigger guard will never break, and the extended magazine release makes reloads a breeze.
Assembly was very easy following the installation video. Don’t own a Dremel kit so I used my drill press on highest speed setting and hand polishing techniques. Excellent results using the supplied polishing paste. Ran 200+ rounds through it yesterday without the slightest hiccup. The trigger is soooo much smoother now. You can actually predict when the gun is going to fire. Another great upgrade is the new mag release. Lots better than the thumb killer stock mag release. I’ve installed a laser sighted in at 15 meters and the little rifle is a beast now. Great shooter. You don’t have to have this kit to fire your Sub but you’ll be glad you bought it when it’s installed and up and running. I know I am!
Although it took 5 weeks to receive my order, the parts appear to be of good quality as I have not done the installation. I noticed my credit card was debited at the time the order was received and I believe this should not be done until the order is ready to be shipped. I will advise when the installation is complete.
This kit took the weapon from a neat gimmick to a reliable weapon. Absolutely worth every penny. Trigger pull is smooth, no flex like the plastic junk it replaced. Hard to believe Kel-Tec doesn't make this stuff standard!
I have finished installing this upgrade kit on my Sub2K. Not hard to do at all. But I couldn’t call it an upgrade. It’s a “REBIRTH”. I loved it before and had no complaints. But now this is one amazing little carbine. The trigger, action and accuracy is nothing close to what the factory is. It’s a total different weapon. Smooth, slick, crisp and solid. The guys at M-Carbo know what they are doing when it comes to making something better, they have down to a science and the science is GOOD. Watch the video first and if you follow their steps it falls right together. BUY IT, YOU’LL BE GLAD YOU DID AND AMAZED AT THE FINISHED PRODUCT.
The video, which is excellent, makes everything look easy. For me, it was time consuming and frustrating. However, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I got through it. And it was worth it! Mine went from a mushy, creepy, 8+ lb pull to a crisp, short 5- lb pull. What an improvement! I also installed the stainless steel lower feed ramp. Excellent investment!
I bought this kit and was originally going to take it right to my gunsmith for the install. I watched the install video Chris put together and it walked me through it step by step. In fact I did it 4 times due to various blunders like forgetting to put the barrel back on the first time, forgetting a handle pin the second time and so on. But it was good practice tearing down and putting it back together. All in all it is a moderately complex job but when watching the video and going along step by step it is very doable for the average Joe.
