This was super easy and fun to install. Make my Sub2K shoot like a whole new gun. Good way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon!
Installed this yesterday, it was not that difficult and the trigger feels much better. I also think the upgraded parts are a significant improvementent. Two minor issues though, probably very easy to prevent. 1. The tool that cam with the kit does not fit the e clip on the safety and cannot be used to remove it. I would suggest putting something about this in the video, at least list the tools necessary to remove them from the safety. Was a pain to remove, had to go the Home Depot and buy a small pair of vice grips, no biggie but would have been nice to know before having the gun apart on the table. 2. I did not receive the mentioned shim for the trigger. I don't think I Needed it and maybe it is not shipped anymore with the kit. Other than that I love the products they sell here. Great Service and quality.
The overall install went very well and I’m pleased with the well needed upgrade. The hammer spring can be a little bugger and please keep double checking everything is pressed down because everything will keep working it’s way back out of position if not watching it all closely. I had a issue with the falling inside or mag well area the first time I tried to snap it all back together and on my second try I put pressure on the mag release on the non ejection side to make sure it stayed in place for the spring to seat. Would gladly install one again.
Purchased the full kit after carefully reviewing each item individually and very glad I upgraded everything at the same time. The items in this package all perform as advertised and the trigger pull is crisp and clean. I have never taken a gun down to this level before and this firearm had just been purchased and upgraded from the Gen 1 model and never fired, so I was bit nervous doing all of this. I watched each video and had no issues with the upgrade and learned a lot in the process. Very weel done and definitely recommend this product.
This is a very nice upgrade and it is very noticeable when operating my weapon. My trigger went form 6.5 to 4.5. The video was really helpful. I had no issues installing. Pretty straight forward. I don't think the dowel, 2.5 hex keys, and special wrench are necessary. A package option without these would of been nice. I am still very satisfied with this upgrade.
got the install done myself, was a bit tricky only cause the fingers don't work like they used to but having said that, my kel-tec sub 2000 is sweeter than ever. thanks ya'll.
I just finished installation of the All in One trigger upgrade kit for the KelTec Sub2000. I really appreciated the instruction video as it was very clear and easy to follow. I am not a gunsmith and the extent of my skills is limited to assembling an AR15 kit, and building a black powder rifle. I was able to follow along and complete the upgrades in a couple of hours. I thought they forgot to send me the trigger shim but after looking up some info on their website, they said it is no longer needed even though it was shown in the video. All good. So yeah, trigger feel has improved greatly. I'm taking it to the range next week to see how it shoots. Hopefully everything still cycles nice and clean. Great job MCARBO!
First, I agree 100% with the other reviews here. Great products, great company, fantastic instructional videos, great customer support, etc. etc. I didn't buy the complete trigger upgrade kit. Instead I bought the parts individually that I needed. Because I have to shoot a long gun left handed, I didn't need the extended mag release. That long tab would be under the palm of my left hand (trigger hand). And I kept the plastic trigger and guard but bought everything else. (Trying to save a little $$$.) Yesterday I did all the polishing and the reassembly. My only hitch was getting the stock mag release to stand up while I pressed the two halves of the grip back together. It kept wanting to fall over. But I finally got it. Now my Sub is just so nice. Great fluid, buttery trigger pull and ammo feed. Thank you so much Chris Nelson and M*Carbo.
I purchased this along with several other Mcarbo upgrades,300$ worth, big mistake. Time there super slow on shipping both orders and replacement parts. Yes replacement parts. Before I started, and I recommend everyone does this , I checked my stock trigger pull. After complete installation and over an hour of polishing of internals, per the installation video, I finished with a 6.7-7.7lb trigger pull I started with a stock 7.7-8.7lb of pull. 235$ and 3 hours labor to shave 1 pound of pull. What happened to the 3-4 they advertised. After weeks of emailing photos and messages and talking on the phone, Mcarbo's answer is "Kel-Tec Sub2000's are a very inexpensively built carbine, the plastic chassis is not the most accurate injection molded frame out there. What you have may be the best it will ever be". They did send me a replacement spring set thinking that there may be a problem with the springs. New set of springs installed and still no better. Their best suggestion was to loosen the screws above the trigger, to finger tight or less and lock tite them in place and retest for pull. Loosing the screws lowered my pull to mid to high 5's and that was not until I loosened all the screws. Mind you I would not try to shoot it this way. When I replied with the results from the loose screws they, They reminded me that the poor quality of the injection molded chassis. At this point they offered that I could send the gun back to Kel-tec or directly to them and they will take a look for a fee. I explained I have been doing triggers for 30+ years and I can't see paying someone to do what I have "already done". I suggested that I remove all of the Mcarbo junk and send it all in for a complete 300$ refund. This is when Ken tells me sure but they can only give me a 27$ refund for the springs because the other parts were installed and can't be returned. Lesson Learned don't trust Mcarbo or take the reviews online for real some are paid for. Talk to your friends.
It's tedious work, could not have been done without watching step By step instructions, got it all done and can't wait to get to the range. Thanks MCARBO dudes!
great parts, very high quality. have the instruction video on the work bench. you will stop and back up a few times. not hard to install, just do it right the first time.
It is me belief, that no matter what level of gunsmithing you currently plateau at, watching these videos can be a lifesaver. It seems every weapons manufacturer have some trade hints and secrets that once known, save both sanity and frustration...and in some cases, marriages. I got all the parts needed to upgrade my new Sub2K G2 in one shot. I just performed a live fire test with all the upgrades and everything seems to function flawlessly. Thank you. Sammy-O
I am much better at tearing things apart than I am fixing them and was apprehensive about doing this work on my Sub 2000. I sat in front of the TV with the video playing and installed the whole thing in a little over an hour with no problems. Also added the muzzle brake and the recoil sleeve and buffer. Gun shoots great!
I was a little intimidated to take on the full trigger replacement of a new weapon, but the video took me through it step by step and it went well.j
Full upgrade on suppressed sub 2K. Video made install a snap. Carbine functions perfectly and is a joy to fire. MCARBO is a class act. Keep up the great work.
