This is one of those items that someone probably thought, why didn't we think of this sooner. The installation was a bit challenging, that spring is a bit squirrely. Almost need some sort of spring compressor...in the end I won and got installed.
I had to take apart my Keltec sub 2K a few times already and the old lockin pin was a pain to put on. This new version of the locking pin was much easier. The installation video was a very big help. However installing the locking pin on the spring took some effort and I was wishing for a third hand to make the installation easier. There is a certain amount of coordination that’s needed to install the pin on the spring and it took me about 20 minutes for the whole process. Once I got it on it was a breeze to reassemble my sub 2K.
Could have had a V-8 ha ha, love it now I don"t have to fight the dam thing when putting it back in!!!!!!!!!!!! You video not showing the easy way to install?????????? Place two small screw drivers through the spring where the two metal link rods meet. Start twisting one end with your hand compressing the spring on one end and causing the other end too become lose and the end cap to stick out and allow you to very easily replace with the new end cap! I found this out the hard way when one of the end caps came off and I could not hold or compress the spring even with a guiding block to put on the new part. Took me three minutes to do it this way and no other parts needed expect the two small screw drivers>
I ordered it to upgrade the skeletonized charging handle. My order for the charging handle was placed just before the new style locking pin email announcement came out, and I received the old style pin with the charging handle. A discounted retrofit offer would have been nice, so I gave 4 stars instead of 5. It works as advertised, but is a little tricky to install. Follow the video instructions carefully and you'll be ok.
Super easy install if you can't do this yourself then you probably should not need working on your own firearms. Worth every penny in time saved trying to line up hole with screw driver great job engineering this part macarbo. I was able to do this in the first try watch the free videos and just do it.
OMG! No screw driver! Get an extra set of hands... no problem!
