Review
Quick and especially enjoyable experience with Mcarbo products. The pistols I've used their products in are especially smoother actions and improve accuracy as a direct result. Very pleased with products and instructional videos!
I love the Sih P938 I own but having larger hands found the trigger pull to be a bit much. I bought a new Aluminum trigger to replace the plastic trigger. while searching for the trigger found the Mcarbo spring kit. Figured why not. After adding both I found the trigger pull to be much better. I now will spend some time readjusting the to the newer trigger pull. GREAT PRODUCT and definitely worth the investment. May even order an additional set for the P238 I own.
When I picked up my new P938 last week, I loved everything about it but the trigger pull. The LGS measured it at 8.5- 9.5 lbs. After watching the easy to follow M*carbo video, I bought both the springs and the polishing kit this week. This was my first attempt at gun work, and I'm much clumsier that Chris, but even I could do it! I was careful to remove/refit the small springs with the gun frame and slide in a plastic bag, as some here recommend, but had no issues. Done in about 1 hour, and the trigger pull is now about 1/2 what it was. Perfect for carry, imo. Very pleased with the result from these inexpensive products.
I just installed the trigger springs on my Sig P238. My old trigger springs gave me a 6lb 5oz trigger pull. After installing the MCarbo spring kit (without any polishing at all) the trigger pull reduced to a 5lb 1oz trigger pull. I was looking to get it to around 5lbs and so this is exactly what I was looking for. The video provided by MCarbo is excellent. I am a newby to this and had no problems with the disassembly of my Sig P238 or the reassembly. Thanks MCarbo.
First off I want to point out that shipping and getting my order was extremely fast even under the current circumstances. Going to polish and insert the new springs tomorrow in my Sig P238.
Received mine super fast and the quality is great.
Reduced the trigger weight from 6.5 to 5.5 pounds, but polishing made the trigger feel much lighter.
I installed the Gen 2 kit parts on my new P9388 Legion and the Gen 1 kit parts on my wife's older P238 HD. The P938 install was complicated a bit because I started it before the Gen 2 kit came out. So there was for me a step 1 of installing just the hammer and firing pin springs and using the Polishing Kit on the hammer. I did not measure starting trigger pull but it had to be 1.5 or 2 lb heavier than I ended up with, which was 8 lb. The quality of the trigger pull was much improved, probably thanks to the hammer polishing, and it was a better feeling trigger than you'd think for 8 lb. Still, it was heavier than I had in mind. Then the Gen 2 kit came out, so I proceed to install the sear spring. That gave me, I am writing from work so could be off slightly, 4 3/4 lb, really clean, completely definite wall and break, short takeup, short reset. EXTREMELY PLEASED. My wife's P238 being Gen 1 got just the hammer and firing pin springs, plus a very quick hammer polish -- it didn't seem to need much. It dropped from 5 3/4 lb to 3 3/4 lb and she is very pleased. HIGHLY recommend the kits! If buying the Gen 2 do watch the original video because the hammer polishing is well worth doing and is shown in that video but not the Gen 2 video.
Installed this spring kit in both a P238 and a P938. Also polished both hammers with Flitz as shown in the video. Improved the trigger pull in the P938 by 2 1/2 lbs. It now runs at about 5 lbs 8 oz. Just right for a carry gun. The improvement in the P238 was not as dramatic as the starting trigger pull was about 5 lbs 11 oz. It is now 5 lbs 5 oz. Simple upgrade and very happy with the outcome. Glad I found M*CARBO!
Video instructions are very good. Parts are top quality. Installation was easy. Result was a very nice trigger pull reduction. I can now hit my target easily, where before the trigger pull was so heavy that I usually pulled the front sight off target before the sear released. Solid results. Thank you Chris.
The parts were exactly as advertised and the installation video was perfect. Fast delivery. I had never done anything like this before but the video made it simple and actually enjoyable. One personal comment: If a person does not have a set of punches, they can use the Allen wrench to push the pins - that is what I did and it worked fine. I highly recommend trading with this company and because it was so easy (thanks to the good videos) I am considering doing a trigger job on my other Sig.
Amazing products
Super fast shipping, Great video, Good follow up by email. I was able to install with no problems. I bought the p938 with the FT Bullseye Site (as expected...sucked like most reviews) for snag less draws, I always use a laser on my carry guns anyways. What I didn't expect was the trigger pull. I would constantly tweak the gun and hit far right. The trigger pull weight was a lot of that but also felt like the trigger it self pivoted down more than pulled. I also installed a flat Galloway Precision trigger with this kit. I didn't have a trigger pull gauge but it is not the same gun now. It is more than half of what it was and my groups tighten up tremendously. I would highly recommend this kit for you p938 and the company for there commitment to customer satisfaction.
This is a easy install and improves trigger greatly. My 938 was all over the place with factory trigger. After install greatly improved accuracy with a lighter trigger.100% recommended for 938
Very high quality. Shipped quickly and installation was much supported.
