This was easy to install and I like the way the pin can;t work it's way out with this design. I'm doubtful that the old one would fail very quickly but this hardened steel one is cheap enough and easy to install.
I added the stainless guide rod and upgraded takedown pin to my LCP 2. Ordering was easy, shipping was fast, and the price made this a no brainer for a last ditch SD firearm. Thank you.
As soon as I pulled the Takedown Pin out of the bag I could feel the difference. Much better quality. Fits perfectly.
So much easier to field strip and clean the lcp 2. Simply turn with a finger nail and then pull out with the same fingernail. No need for a flat blade or scratch the finish. Much easier to reinstall past as well.
This replacement pin is a must have. It makes field stripping much easier and tool-less. Pros: faster take down and reassembly. Stronger. Cons: Hard to see the dimple. Don't replace the lock spring internally unless you really need to. It's not worth your time.
I ordered this for LCP 1. Well built and won't break or back out on you when you need it the most. Great idea from great people. You can depend on MCARBO's experience to make your weapon better.

This pin makes the takedown so much easier! The factory pin was a PITA to say the least. This one truly is stress free!

The new pin works as advertised. Easy to install, very easy to remove without tools and most importantly takes the worry out of breaking the OEM pin on removal or having it back out on its own. A MUST HAVE item for the Ruger LCP II, thanks.🇺🇸
MCARBO made two versions of this pin. The original pin can be viewed in their you tube installation video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa0fESfJ9SU&t=326s The original pin solved four problems with the factory pin: 1) Ease of removal, half turn and pull it out. 2) Ease of insertion, didn't have to push it in with a jiggle at an angle 3) anti walk 4) Thicker head The new pin only address numbers 3 and four due to a change in the pin from what is in the video. They removed the two slots and the bevel in the pin. Needless to say I am disappointed that the product doesn't do what is shown in their installation video. I am only keeping it since it does have a thicker head. It is still difficult to install and remove just like the factory pin.

Makes it easier to take apart and less likely to break the spring/wire that it hooks on.
Part was incredibly easy to swap out. Locks securely and gives me peace of mind. Highly recommend.

This part is not really necessary. The slight improvement over the stock pin is overkill. It's like the difference between a 4" barrel and a 4.1" barrel.
