The title not withstanding, I like the butt pad. I’ve got it on there cinched down good and tight. It feels very solid, and even though I haven’t yet tried it out “under fire” I can already feel the difference in just shouldering the sub2k.

It was pretty simple to install, and if you are not completely inept with a drill you will be able to do it. So, that’s no big deal.

I like it.

What I would like better would be a decent buttstoct for the Sub. The factory stock is pretty lame to say the least.

So, to sum it all up: Nice Job MCarbo.

A good addition, but...

While I love this pad (especially compared to some of the other ones on the market), there are two major issues I have with it. First, because of the design it only works with the furthest-most pin setting for the butt stock. I'm used to shooting my Sub2000 with the pin in the middle setting, so this moves it out about an inch further. Then the pad is almost an inch thick, so now the gun is resting almost two inches further out than I'm used to. So it'll take a little getting used to. The second issue is getting the holes lined up to drill into the butt stock was a bit challenging. Maybe if you included a small paper or sticker template, that would make the process easier. Past those two issues, definitely worth the upgrade.

A good investment.

This piece certainly makes shooting the 2000 more comfortable. Installing the piece was so-so. In the end it worked out fine. It might have been easier if a template was supplied.

Overall, I really appreciate all of the help, communication and support M*CARBO provides with each product they sell.

A great addition to a wonderful platform

Somewhat involved in a point of no return sort of way, but once I accepted that I was going to be poking holes in my Sub, I was very pleased with the results.

A great upgrade if you're tall

I'm about 6'2" with long arms and I have the stock set in the rear position. The buttstock pad does reduce felt recoil, but for me the greatest benefit is a bit of added length to the stock so I can use the stock sights with more comfort.

A little tape goes a long way

I have found when trying to position the recoil pad on the but stock that wrapping the two pieces with electrical tape will keep them from moving around too much and allow you to seat it in the vice and use two hands. once I drilled the pilot holes, I removed the stock from the vice, cut the tape, and replaced the but stock in the vice for a better grip. Drilling the holes took 1 minute per run and was way safer. Finally, you will have to reassemble the gun before placing the but stock pad on.

Comfort check; it was a lot better feel .

A must have…

I received the Pad in a expedient fashion. The installation of the was as simplistic as could be and I can really feel a difference in the recoil now when firing. Two thumbs up!

Easy installation of this accessory. Only suggestion I might offer is that perhaps MCarbo can add a paper template of some sort to facilitate location of holes to be drilled.

After this install along with the recoils bolt handle and recoil buffer there was a huge reduction in the recoil force when the weapon was fired. GOOD JOB MCarbo!

Added stock length and comfort

You will need to drill holes in your stock to add this mod. It is well worth it. It provides a more even surface. And the rubber does have a fair amount of cushioning compared to the hard plastic of the original stock. Overall I would recommend this to all Sub-2000 owners.

Purchased the SUb2000 Buttstock Pad. Very good product. I wanted the pad, not for the pad specifically, but explore the opportunity to lower the pad to increase the length of the buttstock itself. Your design allowed me to drop the pad a full two inches. Since the 2000 buttstock is in direct line to the barrel, the positioning of the sites (iron to red dot) forces me to tilt my head to see the picture, a bit of a strain. By increasing the vertical length of the stock better positions the sites. The improvement is to develop a complete pad (like the current one), but add 2 inches in the structure. I secured the units with only two of the screws to the stock and added a spacer for the back of the extended portion using commercial PVC (1/4 inch) trim (Lowes) and attaching the lower screws/nuts originally provided. The original pad's 'honeycomb' structure appears to be tough enough to take this mod. Keep up the design and engineering to improve this unique weapon.

Alternate install method

Just installed mine last night, but what I would really like to see from MCARBO is a full replacement Sub2k buttstock with an integrated overmolded recoil pad! By the way, I didn't follow the install instructions. I was worried I would mar the sides of the buttstock when drilling through from the back (like in the video), and I didn't want to end up with the exposed bolts on either side of the buttstock. I figured since drilling would be non-reversible, how much worse would it really be if I used glue or epoxy! So I used a razor blade to trim off the protruding bolt channels from the back of the recoil pad (came off very easy), sanded it smooth, cleaned it off with rubbing alcohol, and mounted it permanently to the back of the buttstock with Gorilla Glue! Looks good, feels secure, no exposed bolts or nuts. I'm just waiting for the glue smell to dissipate. If it ever comes loose or falls off I will repost (and maybe try epoxy).

Another excellent innovative product

This buttstock pad is a well put together. The only issue is once the buttstock pad is installed the buffer is a tight fit. Other than that the design rocks. Lot a lot of recoil with the 9mm anyway, but this does soften the recoil to the point where my kids enjoy the change immensely.

Another MCARBO wonder-Mod for the Kel--Tec Sub 2-K

The install can be a little tricky for peeps without steady hands. I recommend a brand new drill bit it makes the job quick and easy. To put my Butt stock Pad on my Sub 2-K, I glopped medium-hot glue from glue gun just to avoid warping of the plastic due to high heat on the screw sleeves of the buttpad. While warm I was able to sight-in where I thought it looked good and drilled all 4 holes just to start. Then I removed it and finished drilling 2 holes at a time to ensure proper fit. It looks, feels and closes awesomely!

Recommendation:

To make this product user friendly to all skill sets of life. (((Definitely a JIG template of cardboard would be helpful due to the protruding screw hole sleeves for alignment.)))

Awesome

Did all internal upgrades about 6 months ago. Incredible difference, but after installing the butt pad this sub 2k is now complete and more comfortable to shoot.

I highly recommend this as your first upgrade.
