The Kel-Tec Sub2000 QD Single Point Sling Mount is well-built & easy to install. It is an effective & secure mount for QD slings. Highly recommended.
I have added so many M-Carbo upgrades that I am way behind on my reviews, so I will just lump them together and say that you simply cannot go wrong with an M-Carbo accessory! If it looks like something you could use, I promise you that you will like it. EVERY accessory/part they make is top-notch and far better than the original part(s) you will be replacing. The "How To" videos are the best in the business and make every installation an easy success. The Customer Service is truly amazing. You won't feel like just a customer, you will be so well treated that you will soon consider yourself part of the family! I am not affiliated or compensated by M-Carbo to provide this review. They are just so awesome in this day and age that I really wanted to get the word out.
Upon receiving this part, I tested it with a couple generic QD swivels and a couple Magpul QDM swivels. All of them popped right out QD receptacle with just a moderate tug. I figured I had just received a defective part. I returned it for an exchange, and MCarbo sent a replacement promptly. Unfortunately, the new sling mount I received has the same issue. I'm not a firearms expert, but I'm pretty sure QD swivels are not supposed to just detach by pulling on them. This does not happen with any other QD mount on any of my other firearms. MCarbo needs to go back to the drawing board with this one because this sling mount is a no-go.
I shipped my Sub 2000 to Kel-Tec for a receiver exchange. Kel-Tec destroyed the QD threads and bolt. Not sure how it happens and I can’t blame MCarbo for that. I ordered a replacement and attempted to install it myself. As I was snugging the bolt tight with the supplied Allen wrench I could feel the threads pop/ let loose. Another one bites the dust! Perhaps it just a bit to delicate. I will seek an alternative.
The stock sling mount on the sub2000 is not good. This upgrade works perfectly left or right handed. I wish the price was less for such a small piece of metal but I'm satisfied with the high quality and the made in the USA. If you are purchasing the M-series along with this sling mount, call in and request the correct sized tube cover as this mount takes 1/4" space.
I bought this single point QD mount because the double mount was out of stock. It is a high quality part and fits perfectly. I went with a Magpul Gen 2 Dual QD sling and the rifle hangs perfectly and comfortably. Will attend a 2-day home defense class in August to try out my new Sub-2000, PS90, and AR-15.
Quality part that works great.
The sling mount works great and is easy to install. I would suggest watching the installation video and pay attention to the section where they highlight finding the correct orientation so that the insert remains securely in the mount, (which side faces the shooter). I'm very pleased and have purchased again, so I would certainly recommend them!
Installed in minutes and is very secure. Haven't touched it since I put it on.
Great $30 investment. Sub is balanced and on the go helps to rotate to fire position quickly and easily!
