I'm done trying to get this f-ing retaining clip off. I have tried 3 separate times and I'm about ready to throw the whole thing out the window.
I upgraded and went out and shot the pistol about 60 rounds. The guide rod is worn . I believe it needs a stronger Guide rod To handle the spring. I have a email out to Mc
I was having serious trouble with shells failing to eject out of my brand new pmr-30. I was looking for a resell option online, when I came across MCARBO website. I watched the tutorial video, although it wasnt as easily replaced as the video led on, it wasnt too bad. Ordered 2 sets, one for me and my buddy. After the first initial shell jam...which was probably from settling, my gun cycled the remaining 20 shells without a jam. My buddy and I will definitely be repeat customers!! Thanks guys! P.S...you should really think about adding that tiny little clip in this package of springs. I dropped mine, and finally found it after 10 minutes.
Received information back for buying this. I bought this and installed properly after this. The guide ride was damaged on the closest side to the chamber. I sent them information and pictures and I got this back.
After launching the retaining clip and the spring retainer. I checked the reviews and used a vice grip. Then I found a Husky mini screwdriver without the driver inserted fits perfectly over the spring rod and snapped the retaining clip in without trying to use my fingers. Definitely can tell the difference on racking the slide.
Immediate difference. Get the the entire bundle. I wish I would have. Previously mentioned in a review, put electrical tape on vice grips to hold the spring down while prying the wire off. Huge help.
I ordered my springs on Wednesday I believe, and they arrived Saturday. Installation was a breeze, but for those unfamiliar with their weapon the instructive video can't explain the process any clearer. Everything this far has been simple and fast, can't wait to put them to the test in the near future. Will review after I have put then through the ringer. Thanks in advance mcarbo!!!!
Had gunsmith install performance return spring. New gun and never fired. After update fired 90 rounds with only 1 FTF and round looked dented. Also had the heavy duty buffer installed at same time. Excellent performance.
Bought the springs to cure FTF and they worked for me.
The only thing I did different was capture the spring by using a small pair of vice grips. Sure saved poking holes in my finger. After that it went easy and quick.
Installation took 20 minutes. Would suggest using a small channel lock plier to hold spring while prying small wire ring off. Then use them to hold spring back to put keeper ring back on. Test fired with 100 rounds of 30-50 grain Federal and Hornady and no flaw. works perfect!
Purchased the MCARBO Extra Power Recoil Spring to mitigate FTF issues. Installation was straight forward and easy (check out the video). No more problems, FTF got kicked to the curb.
Solved all the feed/extract issues in the pistol in 20 minutes.
First off this company ships extremely fast and the springs arrived a day earlier than expected. Installation is a headache with the retainer wire. I found that it was easier to leave slide assembled and remove the retainer before taking apart. Then doing the reverse on reassembly. Functionality of the PMR 30 has became almost flawless with these upgraded springs. I will be keeping an eye on this company for any future improvements to my weapons.
Installed easy after I got my vise grips to help hold and watched the video to see that the little cap goes out ward put it on twice wrong before getting it right but luckily the little ring I was able to remove each time and place back the last, its a tiny ring that holds it make sure you have a good place to work and hold it while you place it or the spring will shoot it and be gone!
Will I was surprised to see all 5 stars. I bought the entire upgrade kit for the PMR 30. Then shot it and failure to feed, stoved pipe it, and never extracted a rd. I tried numerous things to try to correct it. Tonight I just changed the recoil spring back to the old one, thinking this spring is overpowered? Not sure yet, more than likey it's me I guess lol
