I have two KELTEC PMR-30 pistols... If Chris Nelson and his staff didn't provide the quality gun parts they do both pistols would be in the trash... I have pretty much re-built the pistols inside and out using MCARBO parts designed to improve the over all function, and operation....KELTEC quality is nothing short of terrible !
All the products that I have installed in the PMR 30 seem to really enhance the performance , shipping is great . I strongly encourage anyone who has a PMR 30 to take a close look at MCARBO products.
Today I went out and shot my PMR30 with these updated heavier springs. My PMR-30 used to miss feed anywhere from 2-5 out of every ten shots. With these springs I shot 110 rounds and only had 3 miss feeds at the beginning.
The extra power recoil springs are a must have for this weapon. Many FTF problems before and shot 4 magazines after upgrade with 0 problems!!! Thanks Mcarbo
I installed per the video, All went okay ,the small ring clip takes some patience to get back together. I tried the small ring that came with the springs but the I.D. was too large so I reused the old one. Vic Simich
Just installed this set of springs after much difficulty getting the retaining ring off and back on. Have only fired one magazine full of ammo and my pistol ran flawlessly, as it usually does. Hopefully these springs will cure the occasional jam I have experienced. It would be GREAT if these springs were sold on a pre-assembled guide rod assembly!
The spring helps the pistol function. The installation is not easy due to the simple wire ring supplied by the factory and the replacement in the kit is tiny and not nearly as quality as a clip ring would be. It would be nice if MCARBO would develop and offer a replacement retainer that is better quality and better fit.
This was my first order from MCARBO and I am very impressed! Shipping was very fast, the YouTube video explaining how to change the springs was on point and easy to follow, and I could tell an immediate difference once I replaced the factory springs. Great enhancement to the PMR 30 and priced right!
Greatly improved the feeding of ammunition. My PMR30 use to fail to feed about 10 out of a hundred rounds. Now only had one misfeed out of the 100 I fired. That was a 30 gr Hornady V Max bullet. My PMR 30 has always liked the 40 45 or 50 grain bullets better. Be nice if they offer the complete captured recoil spring but the change out wasn't bad. My 74 year old eyes and fingers got it done. The wire clip that holds it captured is very small. M CARBO was great to deal with and very quick shipping. Will purchase from them again.
This is a nice upgrade and revived it quick thanks
Hello, I installed this last week and the feel and function improvement it was immediate. The install was a little difficult only because you have to reuse the KEL TEC "wire" retaining ring. I found that if you take a standard empty 3 inch pill bottle and drill a 1/8 hole in lid center you can then use the lid as both a spring compressor and screw the lid down after compressed to remove the wire and then do the same for install to put the ring back on. Doing this frees up your hands trying to hold the springs down under pressure and pinch the wire back closed. Good luck to future owners and to those thinking about getting this don't hesitate.
Install video was very helpful. Only step I would add would be to vise grips with tape over the jaws to hold springs down while installing the upper plate and retaining wire.
worked great i would suggest including a spring retention clip in the bag with the springs as i had to fabricate one after losing the original
I was having some major ejection issues until I had changed out my recoil spring to the new enhance stronger recoil spring now I have no more ejection issues.
Followed the video a install was a snap. So far so good on performance issues. I would love to have been able to buy the stainless guide rod but was told they don't make it anymore!
Glad I had the video for support. I am older and have some arthritis issues. When reinstalling the new springs I used a small vice grip to hold the spring down. This gave me a "third hand" and made the install smother!
