Review
I swapped springs, rod and trigger with M*Carbo replacement parts. My PF-9s are now a pleasure to shoot. Made a world of difference.
Worked well did require trimming the pretravel screw but worked well. Good quality
Just installed a flat trigger in my PF9. Should have done it years ago, great change in trigger feel an perceived pull weight. Easy install following along with the video. Thanks Mcarbo!
The first attempt went very smoothly, albeit my dexterity is nothing like yours in your great videos. The first snag I ran into was the trigger was stiff, and not free moving on the hollow pivot pin. Puzzled, nothing on the gun would work right, and the reset wouldn't set. I took it all apart and examined the pivot, and ultimately found that there was a plastic film on it from the factory plastic trigger (another reason to change it out), and it made the M*CARBO trigger stiff. So, I got some fine emery and fingernails, and burnished the plastic off of the pin, until I could slide the trigger onto it and toggle it freely. NOT M*CARBO's fault...just my learning curve. Then, the reset wouldn't engage, so I began adjusting the trigger stop screws, while the blue locktite was setting, and getting stiff to turn with that tiny Allen Key. I got it to the point that it would reset if I moved the slide the tinyist bit, so I figured I'd try it at the range...It made a great single-shot.! Problem being that the Locktite had set to the point that there was no way to adjust it, so, I pulled out my trusty Leatherman Micra, and made a tiny relief in front of it until I couldn't stop it from resetting on it's own. Aft installing the trigger, I went to the range, and I had fired 50 rounds before I knew it, and it didn't bite my fat fingers anymore! All in all, it is a great upgrade for the P11. A Keltec is what it is...nuttin fancy, but at 21 feet firing from one hand , and hitting the plate 10 out of 10 times rapid fire, and not have pinched fingers...highly recommended upgrade for the P11. I actually had fun shooting it (first time ever)!! I really appreciate the great solutions and upgrades that come out of M*CARBO!
After years of getting pinched by the sub-par PF9 factory trigger I'm highly satisfied by this mod. Eliminates almost all of the trigger slop as well as keeping my trigger finger, or glove from getting trapped between the trigger guard by getting rid of the rough, curved, plastic POS factory trigger.
This trigger is a night and day difference from the cheap plastic trigger it came with. It feels great and doesn't hurt my finger shooting the gun anymore. Would definitely buy it again if I had to. Everything I order from you guys is great, thank you!
Installation was a snap, EXCEPT for adjusting the PT/OT screws after putting things back together. I had to chop off about 1/4 in of the hex key. Can’t wait to try it out later this week!
This is a great trigger that completely transforms the PF9. My finger no longer gets pinched by the trigger and the feel of this new trigger is outstanding. The hardest part of the install was getting the pin out of the old trigger. Really great job M*CARBO!
This trigger made my P11 a more friendly shooting pistol. I have replaced my Taurus Spectrum 380 with my P11 for summer EDC. Shorts and tee shirt in the Houston summers is a must and the P11 is easily concealed. Next will be the springs. Very pleased with this trigger. If you have a P11 I highly recommend this upgrade.
Very good feel, easy to install by viewing video.
M*CARBO has the best parts I have found anywhere for the Kel-Tec models. I already installed the pf-9 trigger spring upgrade and decided to try this flat trigger. I couldn't find an installation video so followed the installation video for the spring install up to a point. Was on my own for actually removing and replacing the trigger itself but was not rocket science and the swap went flawlessly. I love the feel of the flat trigger! Smoother than the curved stock trigger and no flex. A couple of things to be aware of; the screw works best for overtravel adjustment but could be a bit longer for best effect. I found it didn't work for me to adjust for pre-travel as the screw would hit the front edge of the plastic frame so I instead set the screw for overtravel. Worked best for me in this use. Also, with my Crimson Trace laser installed, the new trigger hits the plastic of the Crimson Trace where it wraps around the trigger guard. The easy solution though was to remove a small amount of plastic from the laser mount which allowed the trigger to move unobstructed. Great product and I recommend it for those wanting a better trigger pul.
Fast shipping prefect fit great instruction video best value upgrade
Bought the trigger and spring kit, If you are intimated, don't be, installation is just as easy as the MCARBO video makes out to be. I have both a P11 & a PF9 along with a P3at -- I did the P11 a while ago and it is amazing, The factory trigger on the P11 left a LOT to be desired, But after tackling that I figured I'd upgrade my PF9 -- honestly the factory trigger on the PF9 isn't terrible, but this kit brings it up to what it should've been all along. On both pistols I went with the Guide Rod, Spring Kit and Trigger upgrade. Thanks Mcarbo.
I also ordered the Spring Kit for my P11 & followed the video install, which is for a PF9. Everything is the same until you get to the re-assembly & the direction to watch out for the proper positioning of the hammer block. The P11 doesn't have one & the hammer fixture is different than in a PF9 so if you're working on a P11, disregard it. I also had to completely remove the provided pre-travel screw in the front of the trigger due to not obtaining reliable trigger resets in my pistol when cycling the slide before test fire. That makes the trigger sit a bit more forward than it would with the set screw in, but I found it was no problem when I shot the gun since I don't have huge sausage fingers. The trigger stroke is still long as hell but that's the fault of the P11 (& PF9, I have both). Now my pull is 5 1/2lbs, nice & smooth with no stacking. All in all, I like the new set-up just fine.
This flat trigger is an awesome upgrade from the stock pf9 trigger and when paired with the reduced trigger spring kit they are a perfect complement to my pf9.
Super easy to replace. The trigger was of excellent design and construction.
