Review
Installed with trigger spring kit. Highly recommend to get best out of both. Has way better feel and look. Set screws are difficult to set up to be useful, I never really figured out what the rear one is for. The screw that replaces the plastic assembly pin is an excellent assembly upgrade.
Had a little bit of a rough time getting the set screw to pass through everything in the beginning but once I did it was perfect. Great design compared to the stock one.
Just installed the Mcarbo trigger and spring kit on my pf9. Walked down to the range and shot a magazine through it. Well thought out design. The main problem I’ve had in the past shooting the pistol was when the trigger broke, The heavy spring releasing the hammer Would cause the pistol to jerk slightly to the right no matter how tightly I gripped it, Negatively affecting accuracy. Dry firing with snap caps I can see improvement in that regard. Great product. Thanks.
Really flat triggers are as good as they get. And really help a pistol like the P11. It makes such a difference in my well used, formerly owned P11 . The factory trigger surface shape is very hard and abusive on the finger, there is no comparison. It feels great to the trigger finger and is much easier to use when shooting. All triggers should be flat I think.
Good quality product, easy to follow video instructions by Mcarbo YouTube video.
Install was fairly easy. I used the videos for the p-11 trigger spring and the pf-9 flat trigger install. When adjusting the over travel set screw to the right position it makes the the pre travel set screw to long and would not allow the the trigger to reset without pulling the slide back ever so slightly. I removed the set screw and now the trigger is allowed to go forward enough. I will shorten the set screw to remove the trigger pre travel. I have owned my p-11 for over twenty years and it is a hand full to shoot. Overall the trigger pull is a lot easier now. I also installed the 20lb coil spring and trigger spring kit. Looking forward to shooting the p-11 in the future
My old P11 had the most uncomfortable trigger of any firearm I own. I discovered after multiple attempts to utilize the over travel and take up trigger screws, that they just didn't work for me. With any amount of the take up screw protruding, the trigger will not reset, so I left it out. With a long trigger travel before the break, it wouldn't break with the over travel screw installed, so I left it out. Am I still happy? Yes!! The flat trigger and spring kit makes the P11 much more comfortable. A difference of night and day!
Great Upgrade, made a huge difference on the feel of the trigger.
WOW, excellent modification. Great job MCARBO. I have owned and carried this pistol for years and never shot it much because it was uncomfortable to run more than a box of ammo thru, yet very comfortable to conceal carry. Now it is a range gun and carry pistol, thanks fellows.
I installed the P11 trigger spring kit, Stainless steel guide rod, but not the not the 20 lb recoil spring. I'm old, have RA and already have a hard time racking the slide on 16 lb factory spring. Plus, when I reload I use the recommend 'starting load' most of the time. My last order was the new (wider) aluminum trigger! Love the way it feels! But I had a problem, the RESET was horrible! My new trigger reset spring from the trigger kit worked great with the old plastic trigger. So it wasn't caused by the spring. Could not figure it out. I almost reinstalled the old trigger. But, since I wasn't planning on using the P11, so I put it back in the safe. Today, I decided the .380 with 6 rd mags might not be enough, even if I carry a couple of spare mags. So, I got out the P11 and dry fired it a few time. Yeah, on 'Reset' the trigger would move forward, then stop for a bit, then start moving slowly forward again, until reset was done! Sometimes the trigger would just stop in the middle of reset! I decided to inspect the plastic frame for defects. Nothing seen on both sides of the trigger, looking at the bottom of the frame. Was it shifting sideways? I held the P11 up high to look up at the trigger from below. Nothing seen. Then, Held the P11 sideways 6 inches from my eyes and saw the problem! The new trigger was too long for the plastic Trigger guard! The tip of the new trigger was dragging on the bottom (inside) of the trigger guard! The factory molding seam was sticking up about 0.1 mm. Some light sandpaper work and my Reset was working perfectly! Now, maybe I can re-install the over-Travel screws and see if it could possible work any better!
This upgrades fit both on my p-11 and p-40. Along with the other mods this made my trigger pull feel amazing and it feels a lot more comfy in hand with trigger. Even looks better. Thanks Mcarbo. I keep coming back (:
Start the Allen that actually holds the trigger into the frame before you insert then fish it up in slide the retaining thing in then the spring and tighten down it’s ways harder to hold it all in and try and start it from the top lol
I purchased the flat trigger and reduced trigger pull spring kit . There is not much adjustment on pre travel before the PF 9 will not fire , If your looking to eliminate the long trigger pull of the gun ,forget it . That's just not going to happen . You will gain a small amount of space in front of the trigger . With the reduced trigger pull spring kit installed my 6 pound trigger went down to 3 1/2 pounds .
What a difference this upgrade made. Add it to the guide rod, trigger spring and you we be extremely happy with the new performance.
Installed today went well very easy to do if you follow the u-tube video. Only one point I found where it says to use a 3/32 punch I used a 1/16 punch and that seem to work better for me. Have not been to the range yet to check it out, but it worked with snap caps.
I installed the aluminum flat trigger and reduced power spring kit. Easy installation with a few basic tools. 100% reliable and a huge improvement to the trigger.
