Review
M*CARBO is a special kind of supplier. The customer service is outstanding and the products are great. I am a Marlin Glenfield 60 owner since 1964. My father bought it from the Sears catalog (delivered to our door) and it’s been in my possession since 1983. I had the idea of giving it a real cleaning since I know I had never done it and pretty sure my father never did. So I have a 54 year old rifle that has never had the action cleaned. So I pull out the action and it falls apart in my hands. No E rings. Springs go everywhere and I have no clue what just happened. Needless to say I was very sad. Rooted around and found your web site. Really great assembly video and you had a spring and E ring kit. I was reading the Marlin 60 history page and found out you can hold the action open if you push in on the charging handle. Never knew that after 54 years. That was just a double bonus.
I’ve installed 3 of these , 2 in model 60s and one of the 795 kits for my model 995 (essentially the same rifle). Installations were easy with videos and the triggers are a huge upgrade for these rifles. I highly recommend the trigger kits along with the hyper-velocity recoil springs . They totally changed these rifles for the better. Great job MCARBO, no doubt you folks are real shooters!
got these kits in all of my 22s, cz, rugers, and marlins , cheapest and best bang for the buck to improve the guns. Highly recommend.
I had been having some issues with my old trusty Marlin for some time so I bought the spring kit in hope that it would fix it. The kit was easy to install and the online video made it even easier. Took my Model 60 to the range yesterday and it ran better than it did when I first got it 30 years ago. I put 100 rounds through it without an issue. The new cleaner trigger break help me shoot a tighter group on paper. This kit restored an old trusted firearm to me, now it is better than ever.
I have an early version of the Glenfield Model 60 (1971) that was pulling right at 5 lb. with a freshly cleaned action. After installing this spring kit the trigger breaks at 3.2 lbs.. I am very pleased with this result. The installation was easier than the videos made it look, because my version doesn't have the last round hold open mechanism or the ejector springs to deal with. It was simple and educational. I would recommend this be done to anyone with a similar gun. Keep up the good work MCARBO.
I am in CO and I sent my Marlin 60 parts in for their installation service. I did this primarily because I couldn't even hold a sight picture when squeezing, or should I say Yanking, the trigger. I had never experienced trigger pull like that and thought there may have been other problems. Anyway, I mailed the parts on 6/26 and the completed work was returned to me on 7/2. ONE WEEK--WOW The trigger pull is now exactly what I expected. Great job Chris and team and A GREAT BIG THANKS! Allan Johnston
The product does what it is advertised to do. The kit was as expected. Online installation video is very helpful. I found no need for a gunsmith.
Absolutely love MCarbo and their customer service. They are a rare company these days. MCarbo truly cares about prividing a good service to their customers.
Restored a 1966 Glenfield and the trigger pull was one of the worst I have ever used... Installed the trigger kit in less than ten minutes and it is now usable. I am not a gunsmith and have only did a trigger job on two air rifles previously but after watching Mcarbo video it was no problem.
First of all, the YouTube video was essential for installing the trigger spring kit in the Marlin 60. I'm a very mechanical guy, but would have never gotten the springs installed correctly on the first try without watching the video. Photos can't show the detail necessary. As for quality, trigger tension dropped to under 4 lbs with this kit, and I simply installed a 6/32 set screw in the stock trigger to adjust travel. I can finally hold a 1" pattern at 50 yards after 30+ years of owning this rifle!
Prior to the install, the trigger pull measured 5.5 lbs. After following instructions and installing the new components, the trigger pull measured 4.4 lbs. I was a bit disappointed, but after cleaning and polishing the sear surfaces, I was able to further reduce it to 3.4 lbs. I think the moral of the story is to make sure that all metal surfaces are nice and smooth - you'll get the best results that way. What the heck - you've got it apart anyway, might as well do some good cleaning and polishing.
Kit went right in no problems, but didn't really lower trigger pull weight. Started at 5#, with the kit it's 4 3/4#. Bought the gun new in 1989, so original springs were probably tired. Maybe these will lighten up with some use.
Bought this product because my old disconnector spring fell out of my gun bought this because I couldn’t buy another stock spring, after months of waiting and poor customer service finally got my package and the disconnector springs are bent in the wrong direction, tried to fix it and the first one snapped, very disappointed waste of my money
Bought this kit because couldn't find the disconnect spring seperate. Good to have spares.great quality.the utube video m.carbo has out it really helped to install the spring thank you m.carbo for being professional.
Great product, easy to follow installation video.
Was a bit harder to install than I thought but got it in and working. Noticed a big improvement. Excellent customer service and great to deal with, even from Canada. Combine with the trigger and you won't believe how nice this gun shoots.
