I found it very easy to install rwo spring kits for our S&W J-frames. I've been wanting to improve the trigger pull on these guns for a long time. Mcarbo made it possible. They only took 10 minutes each. The wife is happy, so everyone is happy.

Worked okay

The hammer spring was easy enough to change and has worked great. The trigger reset spring wasn't strong enough to insure a complete trigger reset every time I pulled the trigger. 1 out of every 5-8 wouldn't fully reset. I left the S&W trigger spring in place and just went with the hammer spring upgrade.

I did not use the other 2 springs due to some additional videos I viewed that didn't recommend the replacement based on difficulty and absolute improvement in operation of the firearm.

Worked out great

I spent a fair amount of time researching the purchase and installation of these springs. Between Mcarbo's installation video and stuff I found on youtube and other web resources I was able to perform the installation. My double action trigger pull as measured with my digital wheeler trigger pull gauge was initially above 12 lbs (beyond the upper limit of the gauge). I was working on a model 360. In addition to installing the spring kit, I did some polishing, cleaned and sparingly re-lubed everything. I also installed an XS sights "big dot" front sight. What a difference. My trigger pull dropped to just over 7lbs, and that "big dot" front sight is just amazing. Couldn't be happier.

Worth Considering

I have the 360 PD. Stock trigger pulll is pretty tough. The kit installs easily, just watch the video, and does make quite an improvement. Still not quite as nice of a trigger as my LCRX but if you have a J frame you may really want to consider this.

I bought my fiance a S&W 38 Centennial J-frame and she loves it but struggles with the trigger pull. I was hesitant to attempt this trigger modification, although I'm fairly mechanical and built models as a youth. The video on their website was incredibly helpful and I simply watched each step, paused it and repeated it on my end. With proper tools like the bench block, shank tool and polishing kit, I was able to get this done in about 45 minutes. Just make sure you keep the parts organized during disassembly and don't misplace anything... oh, and don't overtighten during reassembly. I thought I had an issue with alignment while pulling the trigger before all of the housing screws were tightened, but once it was assembled correctly it's even smoother than before. My lady loves it now and feels even more confident shooting. Thanks M-Carbo... another great product!

I utilized the video to assist with installation and it was a snap. Clear, concise and easy to follow instructions. The end result is great. A smooth pull with greatly reduced effort required. I recommend this kit!

Installed the M*CARBO S&W J-frame trigger spring kit on my S&W model 642 J-frame. Install took about 1/2 an hour only because it was my 1st time working on a revolver. If you are familiar with working on revolvers, it could easily be done in 15 minutes. The youtube video is very informative and easy to follow.

Before the kit was installed I measured the trigger pull at about 12 lbs. on average after 5 pulls. After the install, I am averaging around 7 lbs. 3 oz. per pull. A reduction of 4.5 to 5 lbs.

I shot it for the first time today and WOW, it felt so much easier to shoot. The reduced trigger pull made it much easier to stay on target. I was plannig on taking it back apart and polishing all of the friction points and seeing how much of a difference that makes but I'm not sure it needs that after shooting it. I would recommend this kit to anyone with a J-frame.

Now I'm thinking about doing a M*CARBO trigger spring kit on one of my Glocks. If they are as smooth as the J-frame kit, I'll put one on each of my Glocks.

WOW, what a difference.
