Spring kit didn’t reduce trigger weight as much as I had thought it would on my Model 60-15 3”!! ....10% reduction so I’m pleased with the outcome...thanks!!!
Installed this kit on my wife’s model 642. This is her protection gun. She has small hands and had trouble pulling the trigger with the ridiculously overly-stiff factory trigger pull. After installing this high quality kit she loves to shoot again and is a lot more accurate. Gives me peace of mind. Thank you!
I installed the springs in less than five minutes and what a difference, trigger breaks smooth and clean at around five to six pounds. ( No trigger scale available). So if you want a nice trigger on you're J frame just do you're self a favor and get this kit!
The springs worked great. Didn't lower the trigger pull as much as claimed. Still from 12 plus pounds to about 7 or 8.
I wanted to reduce the pull weight on my 642. The kit was easy to install. Unfortunately, the trigger failed to reset after every pull. I put original springs back in my firearm, no problems. I was going to contact M*carbo about this issue, when a friend asked if he could try them in his 442. Spring kit worked for his 442. I guess my little 642 is picky. Not sure if I would recommend this kit or not. It's a choice the consumer needs to make.
I installed my new J frame springs and they are great! Amazing difference in less weight on the trigger pull. The video was easy to follow too. This is such a great company to work with for my modifications to my pistol.
Installing the main spring only, because the existing rebound spring was shorter from a previous tiger job in the past did reduce the double action on my wife's S&W model 60 significantly. Thank you Mcarbo!
The hammer spring works great, but I DO NOT recommend using the trigger return spring. I tried using the MCARBO trigger return springs on two different J-frames and they did not have the power to return reset the triggers. I had to put the OEM trigger return springs back in. Since half the kit didn't work I feel I should get 50% of my money back.
Smooth as glass transaction. Arrived super fast! Simple install instant results! Cut the trigger pull almost in half and that fact that it's a veteran owned and operated company makes it a no brainer.
This company has outstanding customer service. There're are great videos and written instructions to help with instillation. I was a little disappointed with the springs. The stock trigger pull was 12+ Lbs. after the new springs it was only reduced by about 2 Lbs. I sent an email to their customer service asking about this. The next morning I had an answer to my concerns. Answer...the trigger pull will lighten up more with use, kind of thought that but what great customer service. I like this company!
I purchased this trigger kit for my wife’s S & W 38 j frame revolver. The results on the firing range were very good as she was able hit the target where she aimed. The 40% reduction in trigger pull was as advertised and very noticeable from the first shot.
Installed the kit according to the video and like the others I've used from M Carbo, almost effortless. Reduced the trigger pull sufficiently to notice a big difference. The only thing I did that was not on the video was polish the hammer strut and adjoining part. That didn't affect the pull weight but the pull was buttery smooth and consistent. Thanks again.
I bought this for my wife’s J frame because she was having a somewhat tough time with the weight of the trigger (Can’t lie, it was pretty hard). Super easy installation. Clear walkthrough video posted on the site. Shipping was super fast and it came with a sticker!!! Brought the pull weight down significantly and is much nicer and easier to shoot now. 10/10
The hammer spring is great and definitely reduces trigger pull, but after the "fun" of getting to the trigger spring, it was just not strong enough for reset. I had to put back in the original blue spring from S&W. Reduces pull by about 3.5 lbs to right at 7lbs in DA, right at 3.1 lbs SA. I would definitely replace the main trigger spring, but leave the OEM trigger spring. Now I have several other to do, so I will let you know once I do my 642's mine had a safety transfer bar that flies out when you pop the cover. You may need to watch another video on 637/638/642 disassembly to make sure you get that back in properly. Love the trigger pull difference just not happy with spending all that time on trigger spring.
After watching the video and following along changing out the springs is fairly easy to install. Thanks MCARBO for all the quality parts.
