I recently purchased a spring kit for my S&W 637. Went in without any problems. I am not sure what the trigger pull was but it now is greatly reduced. It's like a completely different pistol, a real pleasure to shoot. Really smoothed out the trigger. I will definitely be buying more spring kits for some other pistols. Thanks for a great product. Will definitely recommend this spring kit to anyone with a J frame.
Big difference. Feel better about carrying this lightweight gem. Especially with a sight upgrade. Thanks !
I just finished the installation of the M*Carbo S&W J frame trigger spring kit in a S&W Airweight model 642. I did some internal polishing of the moving parts in addition to the spring kit and the results proved to be phenomenal. Trigger pull was measured with a Lyman Digital Trigger pull scale using a 3 pull average. Before the installation the pull was 11 lbs. 7.4 oz. After the install the pull was 4 lbs. 3.4 oz. a tremendous reduction, I believe the polishing accomplished a very smooth action with a Crystal Clean Break however as the video pointed out the polishing was just my idea and may not have been needed and is quite a job and not for the faint hearted. Anyway a tremendous improvement to a revolver that was previously very hard to shoot accurately. Thanks M*Carbo GOOD JOB!
Ok, I am not a gunsmith. I do not have a digital trigger pull measuring device. Excellent instructional video. I did the job without shooting a spring across the room. So nice. I was surprised at the stiffness of the new springs. Until, I compared it to my other identical pistol. Crisp, smooth trigger, yet stiff enough not to jeopardize the inherent safety of the revolver trigger. Very happy with this product.
i just finished a S&W J frame 642-2, The trigger pull measured with a 3 pull average with a Lyman Digital Trigger scale was 8 lbs. 11 oz. prior to the installation. The installation was very easy approx. 20 min. including some polishing and cleaning and went without issues. The result after the installation came in at 6 lbs. 4 oz. a significant reduction and the trigger is much smoother. Very good M*Carbo, it may not be a silk purse but it's much better than the sow's ear.
Ordered the kit and received it quickly. Switching springs is relatively easy. Result is fantastic. Trigger pull very smooth now. Definitely recommend you to use this kit on your s&w642. Lou
Was easy to change Video is a must for novice Have purchased 2 different items from mcarbo and very satisfied with both
Second product I've purchased. Once again EXCELLENT. Fast delivery and excellent install video. My trigger pull is now perfect. Thanks M-CARBO, you've done it again.
this was to easy. 2 spring jobs 2 pistols to easy. following the video was to simple. you have the pause button at your finger tips so you can perform the necessary actions you see in the video. to easy. nice job guys. thanks.
Easy to install with your videos help. Much improved trigger highly recommend.
I found the installation video and the quality of the springs to both be top notch. Thank you, M-CARBO!
Bought 2 J frame spring kits for the aforementioned revolvers. The Model 317 Kit gun had an original trigger pull average of 10.8 lbs. After the 10 minute install of the spring kit, I was pleased to see a 5.2 lb. trigger pull. Since the install I have lost this gun......it is now my wifes favorite. The Model 36 not quite as impressive as the 317, went from an 8.4 lb trigger pull, to a 4.9 average. Again my wife is happy, because this is her second favorite gun now. I am well pleased with the outcome of both kits. Testing will be this weekend! Keep the kits coming!
Used hammer spring, return spring longer than stock, coil bind made trigger return unreliable. Went back to stock and works good.
the spring kit was as advertised very easy to install trigger has reduced pull easier to stay on target
Shipped & received very promptly. I installed the springs in less than a half-hour and they significantly reduced trigger pull effort. I don't have a pull gage, but it's nice & smooth now, noticeably better than the stock springs without loss of pressure sense, if that's the right word. Haven't gotten to the range yet, but really looking forward to do so.
I tested the hammer spring in my new 642. It increased the trigger pressure 3 pounds! Earlier I had installed a Wolf hammer spring and the trigger pressure was 9 pounds. I admit the spring was lighter than the factory’s. I watched the Mcarbo Utube video and was impressed with the results that you folks advertised. So I ordered them. I called and talked to a tech person and he could not even tell me the poundage.
