I know, there's a philosophy that says your carry pistol should have stupidly long and heavy trigger pull. That's the LCP II and it's bad enough I consider it an unusable firearm. It's sat in the safe for years, hadn't thought twice about it until I was making an order here and threw this in on a lark. I'm not going to say this turned the little LCP II into a race gun, but it changed the shooting experience enough for me to consider it a usable pistol instead of an expensive way to piss off someone without actually hitting them. The accuracy changed from "did we even hit the backstop" to "minute of pie plate". The shots all land in the target circle at least and they do it without having to take 30 seconds per shot prepping for how you're going to let the gun go off without interfering with it. Still not my favorite pistol, still sucks a little to shoot (instead of a lot), but actually usable now. This is a must for the LCP.
M-carbo needs to make a new installation video using a current LCP 2 22lr. Ruger has made several modifications to the gun since the current video was made. The firing pin is mounted different, There is a new guide on the trigger bar. and there is a safety and that has several parts that fall out.
The parts arrived quickly , and packaged well. I inventoried the parts ,all were there and looked to be of high quality . Now all I needed was some good old fashion courage to install my new parts . I just happened to remember , as the nervous gut feeling was about to get the best of me . They provided a very straight forward ,easy to follow video . After watching video a couple of times . The parts were installed and I was shooting . I expected some change in the pull weight of the trigger . The trigger more than surprised me , it was exactly as described on their website . Thank you! MCARBO for delivering a product that matches the advertisements.
LCP spring kit worked out perfect. Trigger went from 5.8 to 4.4 lb. BUT still happy AND with the VIDEO help.
Very impressed with the LCP2 22LR. Trigger was OK but long take-up and factory pull left something to be desired. Having installed MCARBO trigger spring kits on several other firearms, I was confident I'd see improvement. Installed the trigger spring kit and Extra Power recoil spring along with a short take up trigger from another supplier. Video makes installation simple and straightforward. End result is a shorter take up with smoother, lighter trigger pull that makes this a delightful pistol.
My Ruger LCPII had a trigger pull of over 8 pounds. After installing the MCARBO springs the trigger pull is around 3.5 pounds. Thanks!
Got it quick ship watched video twice through then opened it up and installed without a hitch. Crisp lighter pull without the small gritty feeling it used to have when first beginning to pull.MY follow through is better and double taps are quicker. Great price without having to mess with any other parts to get this kind of improvement is just what shooters need more of. Thanks Chris.
Great communication and fast shipping from MCarbo. Their installation video was well done and helpful, as well. The only glitch I encountered was I have a Sigurd trigger and the new trigger spring didn’t provide enough tension to hold the main trigger forward thus when you pressed the safety blade it would move the main trigger with it and not allow the safety blade to release. The new safety blade looked to be nearly identical to the stock but I didn’t try the new trigger spring with the original Ruger trigger. Instead I installed Mcarbo’s spring 180° backwards with the ‘keeper leg’ pointed backward. This allowed for an extra 1/2 turn of tension on the spring which kept the main trigger held forward. Doing so probably added a bit of trigger pull weight but it functions perfectly and with the other springs I still noticed a reduction in trigger pull weight. Again, easy to install and worth the money, in my opinion, to spruce up your LCP 2 and the customer service can’t be beat.
Much needed trigger upgrade. Removed some creep and shaved 2lbs off of pull. Very satisfied.
The trigger spring kit was very easy to install after watching the instructional video. The kit reduced the trigger pull by about 1.5lbs. It also seems slightly crisper. It is an inexpensive and worthwhile upgrade.
Purchased this spring set for the .22 LR easy rack and although was a pain to install (not due to the actual springs), once completed- it was a world of difference!! Highly recommend.
The gun in the video for the instructions does not have a safety. Not an issue but just letting those that can’t figure things out without pictures or videos that they need to pay attention when they take gun apart. Things tend to fall out when you’re not looking. Pay attention
Before installing the trigger spring kit for my lcp2 the pull weight was around 7 lbs. After installation the pull weight came in at about 6 lbs. No where near 50 percent reduction as i hoped for, but it improved the trigger a little. Kind of disappointed...
Bought this spring kit along with all the other parts available for the LCP2. As soon as I installed this kit, I started having trigger malfunctions. The trigger spring is about the same tension or even lighter than the trigger safety spring. This results in the trigger moving before the safety moves out of the way. That causes the trigger to bind or lock up completely about half of the time when you try to pull the trigger. When the safety moves out of the way in time and the trigger doesn’t lock up on the safety, it works as advertised. Very light and smooth trigger! Perhaps just a tad too light I guess. Had it not been for the trigger binding on the safety lever, I would have given this kit 4 or 5 stars. I don’t need a trigger that has the potential to bind up in the heat of the moment though. That is something that could cost my life. For this reason, it only gets 1 Star. The stainless guide rod, take down pin, and mag release spring, are all 5 Star parts. I just simply didn’t get the results I was looking for with this spring kit.
Easy to install but didn’t notice any appreciable difference in trigger pull. Three checks at trigger pull force were all slightly above 4 pounds.
I have the .22lr version. The installation was a little challenging but once I took the gun to the range, I did notice an improvement in accuracy. Very happy with the results.
